Tasha out and about
Tasha out and about
Today, with the temperature at 29?F, Tasha ate some snow that was not overly cold and raked up more grass for bedding
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YdtldHNhILIThen in "Taughtbybears?" second video, Tasha showed us more of the wild. She found grass that was greener and ate it like Lily has also been doing.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zvPc6iOq1J4As I write this, Tasha is testing the ice on the pond, eating more snow near the log in the middle of the pond, and is beginning to drag a big ball of grass from the other side of the pond.
Late news flash! "Taught" caught Tasha going back and dragging most of the ball to her den as shown in this 5-minute video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mIheQGOCssMFor a bit of old news, congratulations to the winners of the Hibernation Contest. Heidi has your prizes that you can claim by e-mailing
[email protected]Holly, from Arkansas, may be showing Minnesota genes by denning on September 17. Many bears from northern Minnesota were released in Arkansas back in the 1960?s when Arkansas bear numbers were very low. Lucky?s date of October 19 looks right for his Wisconsin roots. Tasha denning on November 11 and still being active today looks on schedule for a Kentucky bear.
Thank you for all you do.
