hi jewelies it is 32 here 51 in the barn 3 raccoonies all the food in the pans was gone i refilled them. pearl kicking her gate forget them feed me. i was happy to see update by sharon no bad news there. i did not know she lives in mi she must live in ely too during bear time then go home? nice tasha and ted are friends., hope she picks her winter home soon real soon.

hi rues! well i like the name meowie better than maui i liked winnie pearl says i like whinny too.  :) my knee does not hurt any worse today. it always kinda hurts but we all have aches and pains.  yes takes a whole lot longer for something to heal anymore but it does heal.  my hand from pearl stepping on it still swollen that may never heal. i can use though.

hi ra! jim did fix that board and that threshold he shot some long screws in both and now it is pretty sturdy. yesterday before he did i was trying to get that big laundry basket with pearls hay and can of dog food and her treats and her pan with her medicine all sitting on top of the hay out that door without stepping on that yelling at my garage cats NO get back. pretty hard to do but i did it. sister test is next wed i am dreading that long drive first clear over to her place then walk all the up to her home then all the way down to ft scott be like 3 hours my house to hers to ft scott. i told jim when you pick her up and if she is awake when you get toward a stop sign ask her well polly there is a stop down the road where do i stop? i swear ra she stops in the middle of road again and nothing is there and creeps down the road for a stop sign and then pulls out in front of someone. >:( i dont expect her to pass at all. long ways to go for a state id but its her last chance so i will do it.she loves to try to find something i said wrong or did wrong so she can point it out to me. she was going to do that last week and i said i would not do that if i was you. we spend a fortune in gas and time driving 300 miles a week to get you bring you up let you get those nasty cigs you do that makes us not want to do that so much. she should be happy to have a sister that has some smarts i sure wish i had one. i told jim i want her to get plenty of cig cause we will not be driving that drive in bad weather period jim said she has a big huge box like that one on the table with pearls hay full of cartons of cig!!! so she should have plenty! makes me think of that song dlong had smoke smoke smoke them cigarettes smoke smoke smoke yourself too death. she ever moves in here me and jim told her you will quit smoking his dad quit long long ago with hypnosis.

Good morning everyone- 24 here and i will have to get my heated water bowl out today.

Yesterday's zoom birthday party was different and interesting. The funniest was trying to sing happy birthday with all the lag time. We had people from Iowa, New York, Colorado and Oklahoma. Pretty bizarre sound but my sil got the message. I hadn't done zoom in months and i had to download something so we got on late. But it is a nice way to connect to others.

Also yesterday i had an interesting e-mail that my computer flagged as possible phishing. It was from Duke's Mom but was an different e-mail address than what she usually used. The message from my security said to contact this person before opening the e-mail. I called her and she said she had 2 e-mail addresses and apparently hadn't used this one with me before. Nice to know the little security guy in my laptop is awake all the time. lol

I haven't checked the football schedule for this weekend yet and haven't seen the weather either. Just don't even want to turn the tv on. Last i heard this week should be nice. We got to see the sun yesterday!

Well- it's time for breakfast- i fed Izzy but not me.
Have a great day jewelies!

Cal, my older sister quit smoking by hypnosis, too! She has the session on tape! She had smoked for 25 yrs. She said when she left the doctor's office she never wanted another cigarette! She has said that smoke, smoke, smoke that cigarette song like dlong did! I miss dlong and her cats. You mentioned Hyacinth the other day...I don't know why or how it came to my Facebook page but I get clips of Keeping up Appearances! It's fans favorite scenes! So, everyday I get a nice dose of Hya! :)
I didn't know Sharon lived in Michigan either!

Lupe, I've never zoomed! Robin has for work and my sister does for her rug hooking class! Glad your laptop security guy was on the ball! I hope I have one of those guys in my laptop, too!

Ra, my chili is very basic...tomato juice, canned kidney beans, hamburger, onions and  chili seasoning. Corn would pretty the chili up!  :) Our county board of education decided yesterday to send kids back to school Monday thru Thursday starting in Nov! Fridays will be online learning. Our ykw cases and hospitalizations are higher now than ever before. I hope they know what they are doing. :-\

What to have for supper...an everyday dilemma for me!

Have a nice day! Stay safe!

Good morning everyone-  mostly cloudy day in the 40's and windy but no rain. All that is south of us. Wow- next week has some 60's in it. Guess i'll put off getting my bird seed until next week. We've seen some woodpeckers here at the suet. Yesterday we took a drive to Cantril. It was sunny most of the day. We went through Lacey-Keosauqua State Park and saw lots of red headed woodpecker. So beautiful. The Des Moines River is the lowest we've ever seen it. At Ely Ford (where the Mormons crossed many years ago) I'm pretty sure you could walk across without the water getting above your knees. We also spied a new bald eagle nest pretty far away but still close to the river.
I think i've mentioned several years ago we walked into a trail and there was a nest directly across the water. We could watch the activity because the bank we stood on was the same height as the nest on the other side. Such fun until the pair moved.

ra- pretty chili  lol. I put spicy chili beans in my chili so i don't need to add more spice. Time to think about making some!

cal- when we retired i decided i'd cook the noon meal and hubby was on his own the rest of the meals. When i worked he was never up before i left so i never made his breakfast anyhow. Works for me to have the afternoon free. Hubby also does the dishes but just twice a day.

Zoom meetings show all people logged on. We get links in e-mail from those who are hosting them. You can cover your camera and mute your sound but you can still hear and see others. Nice way to safely meet.

time for breakfast.
Have a great day jewelies!

hi lupe sounds very pretty where you went. seeing eagles nest and them in person is awesome. my first mom in law when dad retired from ford she did that one meal at noon. dad had a dishwasher put in at first she did not like her pots and pans in it but that changed. dad spent all his days out in his shop. had a pit wood stove he peed behind it they lived next to the cemetery and once he said he was going couple of old ladies at a grave looking over i doubt they really saw anything when a funeral was going on he did not run any power tools or go to the bathroom out back. now they both are there close to their house and dads shop. thanks for zoom info that is a great way of doing it! did hubby get jimmy going?

Hi Jewelies!  What a day!  The wind woke me up really early, it was really howling... it got really bad.  My power was off for 11 hours!  I was just making plans to ship out my freezer stuff... again, when it finally came back on.  I spent the day reading and picking up sticks.  Opened the windows as wide as they would go, because it was 80o today!  I was supposed to work today and sent the lady a message that I didn't have power... she responded that they didn't either and a big tree had fallen on their house!!  I feel so sorry for them.  He had a stroke in June, is recovering, but worry that this might set him back some.

cal... I haven't thanked you in a long time for the puzzles every day... thank you!!  For the dog shames, too.  I miss JP's puzzles...

lupine... You're so lucky to be able to go visit eagles there!  what a treat!

rues... Did you get any part of this storm?  Hope not!

Have a good evening, Jewelies!

cal please try to be more careful.  We would really miss the puzzles and dog shame and update and animal reports of all kinds.
Well ran out of Frenchs chilio  just had the one from a friend. thanks.  Walmart says, "come on in we got it now".  So I have been there three times taking a covid chance for nothing.  Shelf is bare.  So I used Great Value again.  Not bad , but just not as good.  Going to be a long winter.
OK now going to see Falcons play .  cul God bless
