Hi Jewelies!  Beautiful black Friday today!  First time I've gone shopping on this particular day.  lol  We went to a small town country store, and they had some very cool stuff.  I got a pretty blue/turquoise glass bottle and a big wooden santa.  My daughter got a few flow-y tops and a Christmas Pillow and Clemson grand got an orange necklace and bracelet.   Cool place, but if I had to find it again, I couldn't!  lol

cal... Thinking of you and Jim...  Tomorrow is our big rivalry game.  GO Tigers!!  Game is on ESPN at noon.  What time is the Wildcat game?

rues... My geranium has already bitten the dust... didn't like it inside I guess.  Oh well... I didn't like the smell in the house anyway!  lol  I should have known better.  Hope you had a good Thanksgiving.  We had a nice meal at my daughter's inlaws' house.

lupine... Ok... what exactly is shoo fly?  Don't think I've ever had it.  You eat some interesting stuff!  lol  And what is Dutch blitz?  Glad you had a nice get together with the family.  We had a sunny, warm day in the 60's here.  Unusual to see 4 bucks in one place!!

Nora... Was it just you, Joe, and Chester for Thanksgiving yesterday?  Thanks for the card!

neva... Glad you had a good birthday!!

JP and Johoward... Hope you both had a nice Thanksgiving!

I've been working on a couple of small Christmas quilts for the girls' bedroom here.  I found a couple of really cute pillows to decorate their room and decided to make the quilts.  Have one quilt top done and working on the second, but my sewing machine isn't working right again.  Just had it fixed and now, same problems with the tension.  I wanted to finish the quilts this weekend... now I don't know how I'm going to get them done.  Argh!!

Hi Jewelies! Nice sunny day here to go Christmas shopping if that's something you wanted to do! My sis and I went to Walmart at 9am this morning like we always do on Fridays...to grocery shop! The grocery side of the store where we were going wasn't crowded at all but the other side of the store was! We got what we needed and left. Sis is looking for a new kitchen stove so we went next door to Lowes. I think she found one she likes. Lowes was very busy. This afternoon I put fall away and started bringing out Christmas.

Cal, we are supposed to get that cold rainy weather starting tomorrow. Could rain all day and maybe some flurries. Ugh. Thinking about you guys. Hugs.

Lupe, we had sunshine on Thanksgiving for most of the day.  Later in the afternoon clouds rolled in. The day before we had 50mph wind gusts! Lots of areas had power outages but luckily we didn't! I raked up 2 lawn and garden trash bags full of mostly oak leaves from my driveway. There was also an empty milk jug and several pages of someone's newspaper! Like Ra, I don't know what shoo fly pie or Dutch blitz is either!

Ra, Crow and Robin thought dinner was good but I didn't! I don't know why but nothing tastes good to me anymore! Well, everything but sweets! I could live on sweets, just like my mom! Did you sit next to the ex. Lol!  That country store sounds like fun! On time when my sis and I were riding on the North Bend Rail Trail we stopped at a small town country store, too. They do have some pretty cool things!  I have my geranium sitting in front of the sliding door where it gets lots of sun. I cut the flower buds off because they make a mess all over the floor after they bloom.

Nora, love your Thanksgiving greeting! Always love to see Chester!

Jp, hope you had a nice Thanksgiving!

Have a nice evening! :)

Ra-- Joe's nephew lives here in town so we had him over, so the three of us.  Sometimes his cousin has us over, but by the time their kids come home and bring their real little ones it's crowded and noisy, enjoyed ours a lot more.  Rob didn't eat a lot, but took some stuff home and transferred things into his containers and brought mine back today!

Good morning everyone- cal- that dog shame was so funny- abusy year for that pooch.
Yesterday our niece and nephew and their 3 boys visited. They had been here 15 years ago when we had Waggles- our only dog- and we related some fun memories of him and how he'd rather fetch a ball than anything else. That got me to thinking. Waggles went with us about everywhere- he loved to travel. We were camping in a pretty full campground and he had to be on a leash at all times. Afew children in the next site were playing catch in the road and Waggles just watched. I'm pretty sure he wanted to play too.lol

The Hawkeyes won their football game yesterday with a field goal in the last 5 or 6 seconds.Yay! But the basketball team lost to San Diego State  83- 73. We were ahead all the first half but just couldn't hang on. Good game though.

Iowa State and Kansas State Wildcats at 6--we'll be there. Well on tv anyway.

Time for breakfast- have a great day jewelies!

Wow cal that horse is beautiful- but I hope you move it when you cook!lol

Really soggy outside here and windy too. Good day for me to make stew- it smells good- just hope it tastes good too.

ra and rues- shoofly pie is a molasses pie- I don't like molasses anything else but I do like the pie- kind of the consistency of a pecan pie without the pecans. Dutch blitz is a card game where you make piles of cards 1 through 10 in the middle of a table. For people playing- the rules are confusing at first but it was fun.
Should mention that shoo fly pie is Pennsylvania Dutch tradition.

hi EV!

Amazing how college football can raise our spirits. EH?  It is distracting though with so much scoring and good plays.  Took me over 16 minutes to do puzzle.

By now God bless
