hi jewelies it is 33 here 44 in the barn. so happy stripe lives right close to dr rogers and them and who could possibly say no to that little face.  dr rogers i just love your kindness and love for all animals xoxo

Hi JP! seeing you here has made me feel better. love the picture of jewel and relaxing day!

hi nora! happy to see you here too! we need that hug here.

hi ra! i was watching the wildcats jim came in my room when he first got home he showed me a video of his mom she was talking to me telling me hi honey i thought she looked good but jim came in my room and said the dr called his dad and said taking her off the medicine will put right back where she was so i was like say what then dont take her off of it. i wrote dona cause her mom all this stuff and joe has cancer stuff anyway at least my wildcats won it 30-27 it was a good game wasnt it? i saw bama won big 66-3. at least they got that money like you said. good for them. so jim just came in here i was showing what dona said they have to keep treating his mom and hospice will do that antibiotics and pain meds whatever i showed jim but he said his mom said she doesnt want any more treatment she wants to go home have hospice go be with the lord.  :( she refuses to eat will only eat for jim he just left to drive there and get her to eat again. he said that was from his sister so second hand stuff will let me know more when he gets home. so its been up and down her liver is shutting down. she should not of had that second surgery on it never came back and dona said this..Rehab and nursing homes are NOT good places for sick patients.  C-diff spreads like wildfire through patients, as do uti's.  A utt in a compromised patient can kill them and lead to sepsis.  It happened to Mom too.   My dad was right on his lung cancer he did nothing and was here almost another year and not suffering thru all that. i am so sad.

Good morning everyone- nora- ty so much for the hug- just adore that picture of the teddies.
cal- so much sadness with Jim and his Mom. It is so hard to accept her decision to go home- no more treatment, etc. I have a friend who is taking care of her Mom who is 97 and she has decided to go off meds and really doesn't want to eat much. It's hard to put ourselves in their place but pain and suffering takes a toll not only on the body but the psyche too. Still it's hard to respect their wishes.

jp- yay!! ty for the bird bath kitty and jewel. I'm pretty sure that is a smile on her face.

rues- I held my breath through that whole escape story. What were they thinking??

ra- it would be interesting to see your kind of gravy. I thought it was all creamy?

Well- I think I finally found a recipe for a good breakfast smoothie. I've been experimenting for a week now and most of them were drinkable but really yucky tasting. Yogurt, almond milk, blueberries, flaxseed, chia seeds and protein powder.  Now I think i'll make one at night before bed and put it in the fridge so I don't have to use my noisy bullet thingie in the morning.

Steelers today at Cincinnato but not on tv here. Bummer.
Have a great day jewelies!

hi lupe i checked my guide and although steelers are on cbs i cant see it either see the raiders but not the steelers i would say steelers should win it playing bengals and they are 0-10 not won a game so you never know this could be their game its a cinn.

hi ra this is the bake potato i get over well where the potatoes are they also have sweet potatoes but i always get this one and i peel off that sticker stick it in the micro wave for 5 minutes usually put it in when i got out to the barn for last time and let it cool cause one hot potato come in and make my plate get a pop go in my room with the dogs.

Daily Updates
Ice Too Thin, and The Thanksgathering - UPDATE November 24, 2019
24 November 2019
 Print Email
Checked the ice?only two inches thick 5 feet from shore and only 3.5 inches 12 feet from shore off the end of the dock. Deer are walking on the ice okay, but I would be hesitant to walk near the beaver lodge if it is thin enough for beavers to break through it,Beaver Lodge
Beaver Lodge
which is what I think happened because there is a wet spot on the ice at the bottom of the trails going up the lodge. It reached 40 degrees Fahrenheit today, so the trails look darker due to snow melting, but I can?t say for sure that beavers did not sneak some mud up from the wet spot near the lower left part of the lodge. I?d love to look for tracks.

I?m writing this early tonight because it is the annual get-together of all the churches in Ely called the Thanksgathering, organized by the long-time vice chairman of the Bear Center in its early days. Donna is baking for it. Judy McClure feels good enough to play a couple piano pieces. Choirs from several churches do numbers in turn. It?s a happy time of thanksgiving and seeing old friends that a hermit like me seldom sees. It starts at 6 PM. Heading home soon.

Thank you for all you do.

hi jewelies it is 40 here forgot what it is in the barn.i wonder too what is going on in beaver kingdom just hope they can get in out of their home and dr rogers stays off the ice. stay dr rogers.

hi jp i watched the raiders get beat which is a good thing. saw jos browns beat your dolphins dolphins doing bad this season. like the marlins you just cant get a break royals not good either and chiefs not as good as last season course lots of injuries and penalties.

hi ra and rues. thanks you guys well i am going to get myself geared up and go see annie later on today. i went to the barn last night and pearl was so spooked running and sliding scaring me that she would fall i looked all over did not see anything i was like pearl what is in here a coyotee? but i looked behind the hay no coyotee and only so many places one could hide in there. sweets was not spooked so i started checking her eyes like maybe she was getting that awful moon blindness like sodie cause pearl too an appy and they get that alot not always. did not see any damage to her eyes but her top eyelash was really long and hanging over his left eye. so i got it and pulled it out. that seemed to help. i worried last night this morning she was calling out to me when she heard the door and was at the gate again yesterday she would not go near that gate. she was better but still off i saw a bottom lash kinda heading up so i pulled it and another one when i get done feeding the dogs and stuff going to put some eye medicine in her eyes.

dona said this to me yesterday  We will pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy again for her tonight...Jesus promised my favorite saint, St. Faustina that if this prayer is said for someone dying, he will stand between the dying person and his father not as a judge, but as a person of mercy and take them to heaven.  I know Annie a good woman of faith....but we all need a little extra at the end.    her and annie would exchange cards i have no doubt at all annie will be most welcome in heaven.

Good morning everyone- oh cal- my thoughts are with you all; such a difficult time. And poor pearl- have you figured out what is spooking her? Is it scary to be in the stall with her when she is like that? I'm sure she wouldn't hurt you but still....

We went for a ride here yesterday- really nice out in the 50's. Had lunch at Oakland Mills- caf? is really just that- but really good food. I had the dam good burger- has bacon and blue cheese on it and we shared fries- thick steak potato fries. Hubby had a huge tenderloin- brought half home. We were out in the country driving around and found a metal salvage place- really well organized and clean. They had fences up but we could see in a bit. They had a pretty trolley car. Mt. Pleasant has a huge museum and they run trains and trolleys but we didn't think we had seen this one there. I've always wanted a caboose but a trolley would be nice too.

I had to smile at Dr. Rogers comment about being a hermit. I've never considered him to be a hermit because just look at how many people he reaches each night with his update. Guess he isn't actually seeing them but a hermit he is not. lol
Time for breakfast- take care and have a great day jewelies!

12plus.  Gotta love them birds.
Sad to see Cal not here. Trying to mimic her unique style, "we knows what that prolly means".  Prayers go out to Annie, Cal, Jim and others for peace in these sad times.
Bruce is in The Elyria Chronicle-Telegram today FYI.  Lots more to do for him.
Joan having a bad day.  Back into bed.  New pain in both hands.  Hard to do anything.  Now moaning, but maybe waking up.  I will say bye for now and may God bring his peace and calm to those in need.

Oh dear it was awfully quiet on here today.  Jo, sorry Joann's hands were hurting today.

I see Cal stopped in long enough for her daily dog shame and puzzle, but get the feeling things might be bad for Jim's mom unless with the weather her internet was bad today.  :(

Jo, that was a very nice obituary for Bruce.  I really liked that the rescue dogs were included "Memorial contributions to benefit any animal shelter would be appreciated by rescue dogs Brooks and Bode Lyons."

Lupe, that train/trolley museum sounds great.

Safe night all.........
