Sounds like a lot going on in here, I really need to do some catching up.

I sent a card and letter to Willi priority mail and it's 2-dayed, so should get there Saturday.  Still can't believe this.

Have a safe Halloween and don't let any creepy critters carry you away.  I do have a fast broom if anyone needs to borrow it.  If I can have it back from anyone out east in time for central daylight time I'll send it west for someone.  I do have a fast broom if anyone needs to borrow it.  If I can have it back from anyone out east in time for central daylight time I'll send it west for someone.  I don't feel like saying happy with the news on Willi either.

Chester wanted to be a pilot this year, so got him a bomber hat.

Hi EV1,
Just got back from Columbus with the last of Bruce's belongings.  He had about 150 lbs. of stuff in two safe deposit boxes in PNC bank at 5th and N broad St. downtown Columbus.  What a chore.  Took an act of congress to get this stuff because Bruce could not make the trip. Debbie spent a vacation day with Joan so I could go. This worked out great for them.  Stores, Cracker Barrel, visiting Bruce, and sharing snacks from Grandpa's Cheese Barn with me right after I got home.

I got Joan up and organized.  Then left for Columbus at 11:30 AM without knowing if i would be successful or not.  I had been working with PNC for 13 days.  We did everything we were told to do for two weeks, but did not get final confirmation from the Columbus branch manager that my POA from PNC, her bank, was acceptable to her until 12:30.  I was already halfway to Columbus before I knew I could get his stuff for sure.  What a cluster.  What a bunch of unnecessary anxiety for me and mine.  It was awful at this time especially.

Debbie and I hauled Bruce over to the Elyria branch on Sat., because PNC would not send a representative to Bruce in his rest home.  The rest home told me banks usually send someone. PNC refused repeatedly.  I don't see why not, but they just absolutely would not.  Worse yet Columbus branch manager would not accept their own PNC POA until today.  PNC sucks.

Do I remember Pandas from our friend Willi.  I loved those Pandas and miss them a lot.  Just sayin'.  God bless her in any case.
bye for now

Five Til 12.  Joan just turned in.  Bitter outside now. Rain hitting outside of house hard like sleet, but not yet. No snow yet here or in Ely, but Snowman in michigan is all white.  Quite a change today from near 60 to 40 and blowing.  Lots of rain and fog today, and I am sure snow by morning.  Watching Naked and Afraid now that Cardinals lost to San Francisco.  Both played well.  Rams just a little better.

Good night and God bless all those in pain in any way.

Daily Updates
Night Life, Eagles, and Bears - UPDATE October 31, 2019
31 October 2019
 Print Email
Our night shift observer, Peggy Stubbs, reported that Halloween started at midnight with a visit from a bear who nobody knows Scaredy cat
Scaredy cat
but those who see him call him Scaredy Cat because he is so shy. Peggy got a picture through a small window of him on the scale (193 pound), but the bear spotted her holding the camera. Three hours later, the scale had 3 young raccoons, weighing 14, 17, and 19 pounds.

Daybreak came with big, light snowflakes floating down, temperature 25?F. With little wind, that was cold enough for ice to form on the lake with a surprise added. The first fisher we have seen in a long time was on the beaver lodge, sniffing in a hole and then moving on.

Also this morning, bald eagles worked hard to pull meat off the bones of a road-killed deer. The deer was fresh and bloody as evidenced by the blood on the beak of one of the eagles.

Another surprise was seeing willow catkins shedding seeds at this time of year. We usually see that in spring. If anyone knows more on this, let me know.

Thank you for all you do.

Good morning everyone- 24 here and no wind. Some of our 3 inches from yesterday melted but the vast majority did not. Poor Duke has a rough time of it in the snow. He is so short! He did go home last night. His Mom got him before the trick or treaters came. she wanted him to greet everyone.  I get him next week again- Monday to Saturday- yay! He is such a good boy- I keep his treats on the kitchen table and every time he comes in he stares at the table until he gets his treat. lol

cal- loved your video of all the critters going out; such a great environment for them- I bet they know how lucky they are! Can't believe you are without tv. I don't believe our winds ever got that bad here.

johoward- what a horrible ordeal for you at PNC; bet you are glad that's done. So glad Debbie helped out too. So glad you mentioned snow' cam. Somehow that got deleted from my favorites and I had forgotten about them. It is added back now. ty

nora- good to see you and Chester looked so cute in his bomber hat!

Happy first day of November and have a great day jewelies!       Ty lori for willi's new room number

hi lupe laughed at duke staring at the table of treats. griz goes to the frig hoping for sausage. he appears to be sleeping behind the table jim said griz sleeping i said oh he has one eye open jim open the frig gave cali something griz up and over. i bet little duke had fun greeting the treat or treaters. so nice his mom loves him so much i love that and yay you get next week. that pole for the dish been there for 15 years and with the snow and stuff ground was so soft but we did have high winds loosen some of the vinyl siding on the house there too jim got that fixed. sitting up on this hill we really get the winds at times. i cant believe no tv either i feed mom cats downstairs they have tv that free digital antenna. annie will just sit and watch it for hours. they will be here at noon hoping jim gets done with his mom and be here. every day thru the week he goes and makes his mom and dad something to eat if needed they have tons of church friends who bring lots of food but he makes his mom special stuff if she wants it she will not do her pt for his dad but will for jim. his sisters go on the weekend.

Morning Everyone! Having lots of rain and wind, mostly windy now, fortunate that we didn't lose power this time, so far.  Got to see some of the Grands last night for Trick Or Treat.  Thoughts and prayers continue for Willie, her family, and friends. I hope she is having sweet dreams of Eagles and everything she holds dear.  :-*

Dear Jewels Family, Clynn received the following news from Jerry this morning. I know that her Jewels family meant a great deal to her too. I'm very sorry for your loss  :'(

"We lost Annie last night just before 11pm. I want to thank you and the other Beaks for your love and concern for her. It became very apparent to me over the last few days why you guys meant so much to her. Thank you and the others, you guys were very important to her. You Beakers were great through all this and I won't forget."

Please pm Clynn for Annie and Jerry's home address for privacy reasons it will not be posted in the forum.
