Posting for ClynnDunn regarding Williwaw (Annie) update. :'(

Text I just got from Jerry: Hi, I wanted to give you guys an update on Annie.  We had a meeting with the hospital doctor and a lung specialist this morning.  The doctors concurred that due to her very weak and compromised condition,  if further procedures were attempted the likelyhood of  any measurable success is  small. The specialist further felt that reoccurrence of pneumonia in her future is probable. Annie asked that no further treatment be attempted and that her pain be taken care of.  So, she is in a "comfort care" status here now. She has been given her first course comfort meds and is being moved to a quieter room somewhere near the end of the wing she's in. I'll get back to you again later.
And a reply to my question if she would be able to get better and go home at some time:  No,  I'm afraid she won't get better.   What I meant earlier by "comfort care" is they are going to keep her as pain free as possible until she passes here in the hospital.  The doctor can't say when that will be, but doesn't think it will be to long. She's been saying goodbye to a lot of friends and family today and asks each to not feel sorry for her.  It's been a long time since she's been pain free, she's not scared  at all, she's ready

Here is the address again to send a card.

Oh, my...  I'm so sorry.  Willi has been such a big part of this forum for a very long time.  I have loved her sense of humor and everyone will miss her terribly.   :'(

Daily Updates
Preparing For Winter - UPDATE October 30, 2019
30 October 2019
 Print Email
Limpy did not appear last night, so maybe a weight gain here of 42% (180 to 256 pounds) was enough. We?ll see if he comes back tonight. Eyes will be watching. Instead, two raccoons came. One of them weighed 16 pounds at 4:45 AM.Beaver lodge
Beaver lodge

Now, the beavers that remodeled their lodge across the lake have gathered a nice winter food cache. They actually started the cache the night after they covered the lodge with black mud that has now dried to a grayish brown color if my eyes are right.

The temperature today was pretty steady at 25?F with enough wind to prevent ice from covering the lake.

Thank you for all you do.

Good morning everyone-  oh willi- sending hugs to you and your family and friends.

Much snow here this morning- windy too. I had swept some snow into a pile on the porch while Duke was out in the grass doing his business when we got up. Than just a bit ago I put the heated water bowl out and fed Spitty. Duke walked out and went to the pile of snow I had piled on the porch and he peed there. Very funny! He is so short it's easy to get his belly wet. An inch of snow will do it!lol

I raked some leaves yesterday just before the snow started; filled the compost and put some on the perennial beds. They probably will get blown off eventually.
Don't know if i'll head into town this morning- have to wait to see if there are drifts and if it is still snowing. Pavements may be plowed already.

Have a great day jewelries!

Hi Jewelies, it's been raining since last night. Suppose to have high winds this afternoon. Temp right now 68 but tonight down to 28! The growing season will end for sure. The news is even talking about frozen pipes! Good grief! Temps for the next week will be highs in the 50's and lows in the 20's! Could have some snow flurries. They say the rain should be gone by 6pm just in time for Trick or Treat.

Cal, for some reason your avatar isn't showing up on my laptop...it's just an x! Wish they could do something for Limpy. Poor little bear. I don't watch baseball but I was glad that the Nationals won! Crow watched and was glad they won, too. Went with Robin last night to the Party Store so she could get a red balloon filled with helium for her Halloween costume. She is going to dress up like Georgie in the movie IT! I haven't seen that movie in a hundred years so I didn't know what she was talking about! Lol! I doubt that many trick or treaters will know who she is either!

Lupe, nice pic! I hate snow but your pic so pretty! What fun for you to have Duke visiting!

Really sad about Willi. :'( Darn it. :'(

Hi Jewelies!  Hard to say Happy Halloween today... I'm still reeling about willi's news.  I totally understand her decision about no further treatment and know that if I had the choice in that situation, it would be the same.  She's ready to be pain free.  Still sad though...   :'(

lupine... Love your snow pic and am glad it's at your house, not mine.   ;)   What is the thing with the wheel in the pic?

cal... Early for you to get snow, isn't it?  Cute weiner dog pumpkins!

rues... I think the kids would probably figure out who Robin is dressed up as... better than us old folks who don't like scary movies!  Are you going to her house to help hand out goodies?  I miss dressing up and handing out candy... no kids around here anymore.  My grands know that I'll have candy here for them anytime they stop by this week... well, my daughter does too.  She came on Monday and before she left she said "Trick or Treat!"  Clemson grand was here last night and got her goodie bag.

Have a safe Halloween, Jewelies!  Don't eat too much candy!  I have to work at the office tonight!
