Good morning everyone- haven't been out yet but I can hear the wind- pretty strong out of the west. I believe we are under a wind advisory for most of today. Maybe by tomorrow I can get the rest of the outside flower beds cleaned off.

cal- we don't have the cat barn moved back yet. And I need to get it cleaned out too. We have an old wood table I keep on the back porch between our chairs in the summer. I put it next to the glass front of the cat barn and the cats really love it. When the sun is out it is warm.

Yesterday I went through all the recipes I had cut out from magazines my friend gave me. Old Taste of Home issues. I put them in a notebook of favorites. Took most of the day. But that was a big pile of stuff done.

I tuned in to NABC yesterday for Ted's dinner feeding. Love watching him eat an apple. He puts his paws together in front of him and puts the apple on his paws and munches on it from there. Absolutely adorable. Soon we'll just be able to watch him sleep. I wonder if they've ever thought to put a microphone on his cam. I find that I really like to listen to the sounds of nature as well as seeing it.  Just wondering.

Need to get breakfast going- oatmeal and blueberries. Have a great day jewelies!

Good morning everyone- finally the wind had died down; some rain showers this morning but i'm still planning on going out to clean off flower beds this morning. Hubby moved the cat barn in place yesterday- Yay! So I need to sweep it out and put their "furniture" in.

I know you all don't want to hear this but... snow flurries are in our forecast for next week. Yay- again. For all of you who still have to go to work every morning I do feel for you. But I so love snow! Even more so since I retired. I checked my Crested Butte cam last week and it was snowing there.
The forecast has motivated me to get the outside stuff done.   We need to also go to our Amish farm to get or order our year's supply of pastured chickens. I usually get 6 or 8 and they are heavy so I need hubby to go along. They only offer chickens on Wed and Sat. Maybe today if it rains then we have haircuts at 11.

Have a great day jewelies!

Hi willi- pastured chickens are free range critters not ones raised in a confinement building and fed grain. Most farmers who raise pastured livestock are also organic.

got lots of stuff trimmed back between rain showers. Still have about half of the barn garden to do. I hope to finish by Saturday because it looks like next week is going to be cold. My goal is to finish by kickoff for football at 11 AM Saturday.

We have a new tv station that is showing old programs. We've watched Crossing Jordan and now i'm going to watch Cagney and Lacey- Had never seen Crossing Jordan and I enjoy them. C nd G has always been a favorite from 1982. The name of the channel is Start TV.

Daily Updates
A Bear Surprise - UPDATE October 23, 2019
23 October 2019
 Print Email
After not seeing a bear for days, two sweet bears showed up well after dark on this rainy evening with spurts of snow. Yearling
Yearling
Both males, one was a yearling with a small blaze all bulked up and fluffy for winter. The other was bigger, possibly 3-year-old Fred. Nice to see them. We?ll have to study the pictures for possible identifications. Then 3 flying squirrels took over until the larger bear took his turn. Neat. The red squirrel is from earlier this evening for comparison with the flying squirrel?both are about the same size.

Good morning everyone- cal- so glad your snake is relocated. When I was out mowing last week I came upon 2 garter snakes- they scooted away in different directions when I got close. One went a little distance then lifted his head to see where I was. I told him to get into the grass i'd already mowed. Took him several passes but he managed. I also saw a huge toad in a completely different area. It was way too big for those little snakes to consider a meal. It didn't take that toad long to disappear.

What a mean thing to say about Mahome's injury- that news person is awful! Steelers play Monday night against the dolphins.

Time for breakfast- have  great day jewelies!
