Juliet With Sound - UPDATE January 15, 2015

Juliet - January 15, 2014
Juliet - January 15, 2014
This 6-minute highlight video from January 15, 2014, has crisp, pictures of Juliet as she rouses, rakes bedding, eats snow, and settles back down. About halfway through, sound kicks in. I worried when she licked close to the lens, but she didn?t leave a smudge. We filmed in black and white because it was a better picture in this den.

I noticed how close we are to 1,000 posts. There were 33 when I started visiting the Jewel Room. What a good place to be!!

Hi Jewelies!  What a beautiful and sunny day!   Almost 60o here today!  Got some yardwork done. I forgot to tell you guys... Yesterday there was some excitement at my daughter's school... a little boy went out one of the doors and it locked behind him and he just took off!  He was gone for a couple of hours!!  Everyone was frantic!  My daughter is on the rescue team, so she was out in the neighborhood, looking for him.  Had to look in one backyard with a pool and she said she almost got sick at the thought of finding a child floating in a pool!  The police came with their dogs and didn't find him, finally a parent saw a little boy in a field and called his name and he came running.  His parents couldn't take him until he was checked out by the ambulance team!  Hope the school doesn't get into a lot of trouble over this...

cal... I love hearing your voice again!  I forgot what an accent you have!  lol  How was your trip  to the vet?

Well, I guess it wouldn't be 1,000 posts but instead, 1,000 pages. Ra, do you know the boy's age, and why he was out in the hall at the time? If he was allowed to go down the hall to the restroom, it would be possible for him to slip out then. Sad to say, bad things happen even when every precaution is being taken. Since schools have to be so safety conscious, I can't see the school being considered negligent, and I'm sure the search was prompt and extensive. I feel so bad for the staff that they had to go through this.

Hi obsver!  He was in the 3rd grade... 8 or 9 I guess.  He was changing classes and was usually pretty trustworthy... he was considered "challenged", but some of his classes were with a regular classroom.  I know my daughter was really emotional about the incident.  It was a day of challenges... a code yellow or something like that happened in the morning... she  was in the restroom when the alarm went off and had the only key to lock her library, so she came running and fastening her pants as she ran.   They also had a new student go off the deep end, too... throwing chairs and desks and stuff.  What a day!!  The students were off today, and have Monday off, so there will be a cooling off time for them all!

cal, I couldn't resist, so here it is.  It took me 6:34 to get the dogs settled down for the picture.

Pat, sounds like you and your daughter had a nice day together! Is she there for the weekend?

Ra, my heart goes out to the staff. I've had some really difficult students, like everyone else in the teaching field has had. The boy who went outside probably did it on impulse. These kids don't think ahead of the consequences and then make some very bad choices on what to do next. His body was outside before his brain had a chance to catch up. Then?..from bad to worse. I'll bet your daughters shoulder blades stayed tightened up for a long time. Pat, sounds like you had a wonderful day with your daughter. Those times are so special. Thinking about all you Jewelies tonight. Hope  you all sleep good tonight and have a great day tomorrow.
