Quill.

A big Hello to everyone.

The Marlins managed to blow a lead in the 9th inning and lose 5-2 so I went to bed, late, in a foul mood.

Friday is here to enjoy so

Good morning everyone- jp- ty for quill and sunny teddy; also ty for the Johnny Mathis medley- I listened this am.
On our 5th day out we awoke to not quite as cold a night- 48 degrees. That sounds cool but we both have good sleeping bags and I had mine zipped to the shoulders but didn't have the head part pulled- i'm not usually claustrophobic but I don't like having my arms and head zipped in. This morning we decided to not go to other passes that we've enjoyed in the past. Engineer and Imogene among others. Too many vehicles- 4 wheel clubs, 4 wheelers and side by sides and dirt bikes. Just took away from our enjoyment of being in the hills. So we headed back to Lake City and over Slumgullion Pass to Creede. We hadn't been to Creede for 20 years or more. Slumgullion Pass had a rest area with flowers I didn't expect. Went to the forest service office in Creede and person there told of flowers near Big Meadow area so we headed there. Creede was a huge disappointment- lots of people-used to be a sleepy old mining town- now it was hard to get around!
It's so difficult to watch wildfires but the fireweed bloom afterwards is stunning.I don't know how long it had been since thie fire went through here but the bloom was amazing.
