Good morning everyone- jp- ty for bath tub teddies and eli. I thought for asecond you were going to post a song- good golly miss molly-lol. Friday seemed to arrive quickly this week.

cal- good luck at the eye doc- good to get it done early since it is so hot there. I went out right around 6 yesterday and got my bushes trimmed and put all in the pickup- then I washed the vinyl on the back porch- it gets a little grimy and since I sit out there a lot I like it clean. Was done with all my outside stuff by 11- and spent the rest of the day inside where it was cool. Have the windows open now- 68 out and a slight breeze. Have a couple small outside projects today before it gets hot- heat index  warning here today and tomorrow then rain Sat night into Sun. Then I need to get the house clean- on Monday Wimbledon tennis starts- 2 weeks and ESPN is carrying coverage- on from 6 AM to 3 PM every day.  Great times- hope to see all my favorite plus some Americans I haven't seen yet.

I keep checking my butterfly weed but haven't seen any Monarch caterpillars yet- has anyone- I've only seen a couple of the butterflies so far this summer.  The swallows were on the wire supervising my shrub trimming yesterday- 7 birds and very vocal. maybe I didn't do it right!

Have a great day jewelies!

hi cal- you had a good visit with the eye doctor- so glad for you. It's 93 here- I finished outside at 10:30- was really hot and humid. Came in took a cool shower. I watered all my annuals- figured they would need it with the heat. Tank came inside to: my other two are somewhere cool I hope. Heat is only to last until tomorrow so I can deal with it. Saw Mom D. on the Y branch and DM was there too- he looked really small. Ted's cam has been off all day- they had a pretty severe storm with power lines down. Chatters said Ted was in his chalet. Some bears are returning to Katmai-  and the fish cam has been active too. Stay cool!!

Clean-up crewOn another note, baaad wind, lightning, and rain took down many big trees and left many without electricity. Roads were jammed with down trees. My daughter Kate and granddaughter Veronica could not drive to the airport. Ten friends plus the fire department rallied. In the picture are Sharon Herrell, Judy Thon, Judy McClure, Charlie Meyer, Scott Edgett, Spencer Peter (Petey), me, Lisa Hutchinson, and Don Taylor. The kids were on time for the airport. The word from the electric company is that it will be at least 4 days before power is restored.

13-year-old Veronica is going home with good memories. She came with the goal of helping at the Bear Center. She helped every way she could, but her favorite memory was seeing Ted and giving him a shower.

Here is a video of Ted on the cedar pile from last Sunday, courtesy of an NABC visitor: https://youtu.be/fcw6Rlh5gGY

Thank you for all you do.

Good morning everyone- wow- I slept in this morning- don't know why- reading Harry Potter in bed and maybe i turned the light out latter than I thought. Such fun they get into.  jp- ty for honey teddy, Minnie and her cub and the sleepy cat and dog.
cal- 4:00 on the puzzle- duke dogs!! and the dog shame- not a watch dog.lol  it is 75 here already and humid out with not a breeze- very still and we are to have storms tonight too. Ireally like Veronica- did you see how Ted looked at her- love- or knowing animals maybe he expected some peanuts. Not surprised her highlight was connected to Ted. I can't imagine being without electricity for four days in this weather. But I do remember as a kid we had no ac and even when I moved here no ac at first. Ah- the good old days?!?!
The link to Katmai is Explore.org- I don't know how to post links- then bears. They have a choice of six cams or more- I watched the underwater fish cam some yesterday and the fish are on their way. Have listened to a couple live chats with the rangers but the coverage does a lot of buffering- have to be patient, I guess.

Not much on the agenda for today- finish cleaning in the house- mowing will wait until next week.

Have agreat last day of June jewelies!
