I spent 5:38 trying to get in that elevator but they lied.  There was no room.

Hi Jewelies! Another rainy day! Showers off and on all day long. Everything is so green and lush. Wish we could spread this rain out because we will be crying for it later on in the summer!

Cal, I'll have to tell Robin about the Tony award! She will be thrilled. I didn't watch them. I quit watching all those award shows a long time ago. I spent most of last night watching Forensic Files on HLN. There are some really stupid criminals out there. That is so cool about CA and the race car! Man he was traveling! Good pic! Bet he was so excited! That new AC and furnace will be so nice for the barn along with the new roll of insulation! Robin is going to see Ocean's 8 this evening. You got that movie yet?

Jp, thanks for all the tunes! I'll go check them all out after I finish here. Thanks for Doris Day! She always makes me feel happy! :)

Lupine, watering my lawn is one thing I have never done and never will. My dad, however, would water the grass because he was very particular about his lawn! On hot days we weren't allowed to play or even walk on the grass because we might kill it! Lucky for us there was a city park across the street from our house! We would go there to play.  My aunt, uncle and twin cousins lived in Beaver Falls, PA. They were all huge Pirate fans. I can remember them talking about Roberto Clemente. My parents were not sport fans at all. Maybe that's why I'm not.  Glad you are getting to visit with Duke!

Jo, saw that house explosion on tv! Wow! Hope that wasn't near you guys!

Have a nice evening! :)

Lily.

A big "Hello!" to everybody on this Tuesday morning.  You have my hopes that it will be a good day for all.

Up late watching the Marlins beat the Giants 7-5.  It was a good game with lots of action and good plays.

Anniversary Fun Continues - UPDATE June 11, 2018
 Print  Email
This morning, Donna wanted to follow up on the beavers and listen for babies in the two lodges. Canoeing with Donna is a luxury. Beavers
Beavers
I sit in the bottom front of the canoe ready to brace the camera on the canoe and snap whatever picture appears. She spots the wildlife and silently puts me in position. It was a windless morning. Iris Versicolor

We quietly pulled up to the first lodge and listened?nothing. On to the second one?same. Then we looked at their dam and discovered someone?s long lost hat.I suspect that someone dropped his or her hat while canoeing during a Black Bear Field Course. I don?t know how the beavers found it, but they made it part of their dam. On the way back to the dock, Donna used her 39 years of paddling practice to aim my camera at a Wild Blue Iris (Iris versicolor) that stood out in bloom against the shore, and we noticed leafy branches that beavers had piled in an area of flattened vegetation. Donna went home looking forward to whatever adventure comes up next.

Out the window, a young of the year male pileated woodpecker was scrounging raisins or dried cherries. I didn?t notice him at first and went out and was surprised he didn?t fly away. I went in and grabbed the camera and stood on a stool by the bathroom window for a close shot through the window. He must have noticed me, but he stayed for a clear shot of his duller and browner juvenile plumage on his head and neck.Pileated juvenile

At 5:30 PM it was time a for a brief photo break. Beavers were swimming near the dam. I wished Donna was here to see them after our beaver excursion. I snuck down to the water?s edge in time to see them headed for the pile of branches on the shore. One was big and scruffy?the other much smaller and more sleak. Ted
Ted
I didn?t know if that was a young one, although I know that adult beavers come in vastly different sizes. They ate while I clicked. Then they surprised me even more. They swam over toward me as if to check me out from the safety of the water. They didn?t even slap their tails. A nice experience.

The picture we forgot of Ted last night is here a day late.

Thank you for all you do.

Good morning everyone- my schedule's a bit off this AM- Duke is here- yay. I think tank may be changing his thoughts on a pooch.  Duke is very used to cats and doesn't even acknowledge them- tank is concerned about remaining the top "dog" in the house. Yesterday he and duke both had to be in the bathroom while i took a shower. Duke has always stayed close to me when he is here- but tank not so much. Well, yesterday when i got out of the shower they were both in the bathroom. So very funny. The only time duke
cranky was when a gave him a treat and tank went to smell it - while it was un duke's mouth. A growl from duke- no harm done to either one.  .duke and i watched 2 hallmark movies yesterday afternoon. Afterward we sat on the back porch for a little bit. He isn't so much an outdoor guy any more. While i was sitting there he went to the door and barked to get in.

turned the ac off last night and opened south and west windows- 69 this morning but very humid.

jp- listened to Doris Day songs- such nice memories- ty for the teddy with his chin in his paw and for lily. I really loved that pic of Ted- he seems so happy and content at NABC.

cal- hope augie is okay- have fun working on your insulation- will be great when it is done.

Have a  great day jewelies.

jp, as a Giants fan, I did not enjoy the game. Lol

There were some outstanding fielding plays on both sides and I enjoy a game that is close and the lead switches now and then.
