Yep it was definitely 2011 because by that time I was out of the cast from breaking my leg and maneuvering on the uneven ground using a cane.  Had to keep handing it to Joe while I took pictures and videos

Walton - thanks for the info about the rescue of that Bald Eagle.  Here is "Part Two" of that - story of the release with video, and there also is a still photo of the "principals" involved at the bottom of this news article.  The Good Samaritans were identified and were there to participate in the release, as Bob hoped they would be.

Thank you Baz, Walton and Ra for the three posts from rescue to release ...   I remember hearing about the upchuck all over Bob and his car, but couldn't remember the whole story and never saw the article or release video.  I love seeing all these wonderful things that Bob did ... even though we know he was a Rock Star, it's still so great to read these stories again (and again) and keep his memory alive.  What a great man!  And how about those Loney's and the Sheriff!  A great story!

Wasn't sure where to post this, then I thought Bob would like to know one of Minnesota's Falcons was located in Lima Peru!!!!!!!
This is from Hawk Ridge.

A big shout-out to our Peregrine Watch staff! We were notified that one of the young Peregrine Falcons we were watching this spring at the nest site on the Torrey Building in downtown Duluth was recovered in Lima, Peru this past week! This was the farthest ever recovered for a Minnesota peregrine. The young male bird made its way into a soccer enclosure on the Peruvian coast, and after a few days was captured by a worker and turned over to a raptor breeder for rehab; he reportedly was a little thin and had a slight wing droop, but hopefully will make a full recovery. We were contacted by a local Peruvian biologist with the info, after he contacted the Bird Banding Lab & Midwest Peregrine Society.

MpMom,thanks for sharing that report!  Wow!  And Bob A. would love to know this.  I hope that peregrine makes a successful recovery and is released and makes a return to eventually nest in the U.S. Midwest!
