T40, thanks!  Congrats to the farmer who filed that lawsuit!! ... sure hope s/he prevails!  Kind of burns me up knowing that migration and nesting sites and routes are so tediously documented, supposedly in part to provide data for use by energy companies to know where and where NOT to locate certain equipment, such as WIND FARMS to help protect migratory birds in particular, and you would think also for endangered species, including a near-extinction whooping crane population!!!!!!!  It's hard to believe that the people involved in developing that wind farm and selecting the location for it were oblivious to the whooping crane population in the area, not to mention other protected species, such a migratory bird and such.  Methinks someone is passing the buck and, egads, possibly telling a lot of big fibs.

Thanks for posting that link to that article, T40!      I hope the relocated whoopers will be healthy and do well in their new home in Louisiana.   

(That article hit some high spots in the information department, but it sure was short on any supporting detail.  What is the world of journalism coming to?  At the rate it seems to be going, I think degrees in journalism may soon be a thing of the past, because, really, what would be the point?    )

baz - Don't get me started on "scientific" journalism. It's pathetic. It seems to all be dumbed down to a 3rd grade reading/comprehension level (no offense to 3rd graders!). I've actually emailed writers (a handful over several years) who got the story right, IMO, in an interesting and well-written way. Occasionally I post in the comments section (rare) pointing out errors, confusion, etc., mostly when it comes to eagles. I try not to be a troll! I just let the other 90% roll off my back.
