I agree, baz. I generally put "Opinion" or "Editorial" in front of articles like this when I post, but I couldn't find any proof in the article that it was an opinion. There's a language barrier, for sure, and I think it's a local paper, but I concluded the story was probably presented as journalism/reporting rather than as a commentary. I hope it's not a "movement," because the Philippine eagle needs all the protection and publicity it can get.

T40, yes, there was a translation issue apparent with that article, but there was no mistaking what it intended to convey.  I think people who have appropriate critical thinking skills can easily see that it is an opinion piece.  I found it to be a negative piece in terms of support for the Philippine Eagle, and not thinly veiled.  If the writer's intent was only to make jabs at the ruling group and had no intent to discourage support for protecting the Philippine Eagle, then the writer needs to publish an explanation of that.  The writer needs to be more direct about declaring his points.  Two thumbs down!
