How sad, but at least she's in a good place for rehab and care. They said they don't know if it's West Nile Virus or possibly lead poisoning. If it's lead or some other type of poisoning, it's a good sign that she's able to keep mice down now. But they said that by the time an injured bird is brought to them, it's usually in so bad of shape that when it recovers they are not able to be released back into the wild. They mentioned the first and last time they were able to release one was back in 1993.
