Did you know?

Elephants' ears are a little like an air conditioner. As elephants flap their wet ears on a hot day, the blood flowing through the many blood vessels in the ears is cooled. This, in turn, cools their large bodies on warm days.

Very interesting fact, jf!  Thanks for sharing this!

Roo sure took her time checking out the toys before she finally chose the one she wanted.  Precious, jf!

Since this is Halloween week, I thought I'd post some interesting fun facts about Bats:

GG, thanks!  Those are interesting facts about Turkeys.  I didn't know the #2 one - 6 sub-species?  Wow.  I've had a lot of opportunity to watch Turkeys in the wild - in the mountains of VA, NC, and TN - and especially have enjoyed seeing the adults with their little ones, which can be very entertaining and comical.   :D

I thought #5 was interesting as I had no idea how fast they could run or fly.  Thanks, gg!

Did you know:

A group of owls is called a Parliament
A group of flamingos is called a flamboyance (that fits!)
A group of pelicans is called a pod (along with other titles)
A group of hummingbirds is called a charm (they are charming)
