Clarinda and BL, thanks for all the pics and notes about the TVs here in Marshall MO.  Good to see one chick has hatched.

Second egg not hatched as of mid-morning today.  The chick can sit up and take liquid food from the parent, good balance for only a day old.

BL, thanks for the update on the turkey vulture hatches over several years.

The second egg has not hatched yet.  I think it's been 3 days since #1 hatched.  Fingers crossed, but . . . .

Both parents brood and feed the chicks.

Watching and hoping.  It's been a crazy year for birds, weather and migration.

When the mates changed places a few minutes ago, I saw no discoloration on the egg.

Well I'm not to hopeful on the 2nd egg hatching at this point.   :(

It's been 4 days since the 1st egg hatched on 05/23/25.

The new MOTV chick is getting fed like a king however, he/she is going to be very chunky in no time.   ;D

The egg seems to have marks and a possible hole.  Could be just dirt?

May 27, 2025, 1:30pm  TV seems to be doing some active nest building all of a sudden.

Black and white images make it hard to tell if there's a pip or just dirt or a piece of straw.
Fingers crossed for hatch for a few more days.

Look at object in left foreground. Odd, fetus perhaps? Or maybe a brussel sprout?

Clarinda, no idea what the unknown object was in your pic from 5-27.  Could be piece of first eggshell, or feather, or ....

The chick seems to be doing well.  Quick view of unhatched egg from about 2:00 AM.

The TV chick seems to be doing well, and parents are taking good care.  The second egg is probably not going to hatch.

Yes, Clarinda, the live feed is still off.  Hope it is just an equipment issue and not something with the vultures.
