As the holidays approach we think of everyone who is here and those who are not. We think of the empty chairs at the table and the empty spaces on the floor. There is a party going on at the Rainbow Bridge. All will be in attendance at the party that begins tonight at sundown and continues through New Year's Eve. So remember them with a smile-that's how they want us to be.

These pics were taken Sept 17,2011 the morning we had to take our grandbaby to the vet. Hogan couldn't stand or sit anymore from the arthritis. He was 13.
Life is not the same without him. I miss him so much.

I would love to post his picture, but for some reason, I'm having a problem posting any pictures :(

You have probably posted so many more pictures than I have that I won't try to give you answers, but maybe Amy can fix whatever is wrong.  :(

We just suffered a loss at EagleCrest. One of our seven goslings has gone to the Wildlife Section
of the Rainbow Bridge. Any wild animal who has been loved and lost  by a human will find his way there. It is a place of great harmony where the eagles and geese lay down together.

Black Bear Yearling

Black Bear yearling from Rockbridge County, VA was at the Wildlife Center of Virginia. He was getting worse.
He couldn't even stand up. The decision was made, August 31st, to help him to the Rainbow Bridge where he would be able to run and play the way he couldn't when he was here and so ill.

The little bear woke up, sleepy, in a bright place full of light and beautiful colors. The sky was so blue and the grass was so soft. He felt strong and healthy. He knew he wasn't at the WCV anymore. Where ever he was he wanted to thank all the people who tried to help him."You were so kind and gentle-but I needed to leave. It is so beautiful here. There is what I am told is a rainbow shining over us, and the sun feels so warm on my fur.

After I began to run around and explore, a big black bear came up to me and said,"Welcome Son-I am your Mother".   Then she began to nuzzle me and I remembered her. My Mom will teach me all I need to learn and I will grow up big and strong just as she is-maybe bigger. I love the ponds, the hills, and the trees-and of course the Rainbow. I know I will be happy here forever.

I wrote this little story to comfort myself and anyone else feeling sad over the loss of this little guy. He is a symbol for all the cubs we have lost  :'(    Thank You Wildlife Center of Virginia for all the love you give to every animal that you care for.

Little D-12 is also at the Rainbow Bridge. One day I will be able to write about him -but not yet.

I hope seeing our eagles again and new little eaglets will help with the healing.   :'(

I took these pictures on the same day. First it was warm and sunny and then the snow was really coming down. Brandy and Mutzy were two of our designer dogs. We found Brandy running in the snow on a very busy street. She was still wearing the collar from the facility she was rescued from. we got her contact information and they really didn't want her back. They missed the most loving dog. Mutzy was my daughter's friend's dog who had to move and couldn't take him with. These two were so special to us. They found special places in our hearts. Now I am sure they are helping everyone at the RB when they aren't playing. We miss you and love you both. <3 <3

Dear God,
Will you please take care of our dog?
Twoy died yesterday and is with you in heaven.
We miss him very much.
We are happy that you let us have him as our dog even though he got sick.
I hope you will play with him & pet him. He likes to sit beside you as you rock in a big comfy chair.
He doesnot likes to swim and play with balls. He is really kind of lazy, he is a pug.
We are sending a picture of him so when you see him and you will know that he is our dog.
We really miss him.

Ambassador Junior WCV

Ed Clark, WCV:
I want to thank everyone who sent such kind words at the very sad passing of my beloved golden eagle, Junior. After putting on quite a show on Sunday, chatting with all the visitors, he apparently died peacefully during the night. He had not been sick or disabled; he was just very old. It was his time. He had a long and very useful life, but it was heartbreaking to say goodbye to him, just the same.
I appreciate all of the expressions of sympathy and condolence sent to me and all of us at WCV who loved Junior. He was special to us because he had been part of the family for more than 27 years, and because he was such a clown, but in the end, we care about all of the animals coming through our doors. We treat them all with the same level of concern and compassion with which we cared for Junior. It is just what we do, and who we are. Nevertheless, some animals touch us in ways that cannot be explained. Junior was certainly one such special bird.

Dear Nora,
I'm so sorry for your loss. He was such a beautiful boy. I don't have the words that will say just the right thing-my heart aches for your loss.
My Brandy loved her tennis balls too. He is healthy and happy now. I'm so glad you posted his picture. Such a clever boy.
I bet he's running the tennis team at the Rainbow Bridge.

Love and Hugs,
Carol

My friend who watched the eagles hatch and grow with me died Thanksgiving day- Now I found out that D14 is gone...

I DON'T WANT TO BELIEVE IT!!!!
My friend Kathy-called Aurichwolf for so many years of helping People who lost their pets at Petloss.com wrote this. I posted it for her when D12 died since she was too ill to post it-I'm posting it again for her....

Uplifted hearts beat faster as we watch majestic flight
Strength and beauty on horizon at dawn's early light
Ever vigilant surveys with watchful eagle eye
Snow capped birds soar across brilliant morning sky

Young await wings rushing sound approaching from above
Needs fulfilled in every way with never ending love
Safe through howling wind or storm, protection ever there
Mates for life raising  young with loving tender care

Sunset colors soon give way as darkness quickly falls
Outspread wings in final flight heeding gentle calls
Keeping watch throughout the night till morning light appear
Answering each soulful call, calming every fear

Lessons learned in preparation for life's final test
For one day each must fly away from comfort of the nest
So we too will one day leave earthly nest behind
Keeping treasured memories ever to remind

Wondrous things taught lovingly through ever caring heart
Life's journey ~ bitter sweet for all one day must part
Those you touched with earthly deeds must bid one last goodnight
As your spirit crosses heavenly skies and joins eagles there in flight

Kathy Hayes aka AurichWolf

2012-2025

[/size]Kathy went to the Rainbow Bridge for a joyful reunion with her former guide dog Aurich.
Then they crossed the Rainbow bridge together...
I'm sure she saw D14 fly in to join his sister D12...I can just picture them flying around playing
with the other eagles. The sun shines there all the time-there are no storms-just a beautiful rainbow
overhead.

Thank you Nora. Would you happen to have a picture of D14-and perhaps D12 flying? They don't need to be flying together. I would like to make a reflection picture for him or them like the one I made for Junior .  It always strikes me how much that picture looked like a BE Juvie-I wish they could live a long life like Junior did. I cry everytime they are released-when they die it is devastating.. :'(.

A CHRISTMAS STORY

December is the best month of the year at the Rainbow Bridge. For the dogs there is snow to romp in and the angels always have time to toss snowballs for them to chase. The cats enjoy patting at the snowflakes as they fall, and then curling up near the fireplace for a nice winter's nap. Of course they have a huge party with lots of special treats and presents. This is the only night they remember the people who love them and their earthly homes.

But it is the lights that make this time so special. Winter on the Earth, their former home, is a time of lengthening darkness, and in December candles glow all around the globe beginning with Chanukah, the Festival of Lights, and continuing on right through the New Year's festivities. At the Bridge the glow of these candles is reflected in all of the trees, and in the hearts of every Bridgekid as they observe the month in their own special ways.

For most it is a time of great joy, but each year there are always a few who draw apart..
Near to midnight, "home time" on December 24 Charlie realized someone was missing from the Hale Family gathering. "I'll be right back," he told his siblings. He passed many similar groupings of friends and families as he hurried down the well worn path, many called out to him, but he only acknowledge the greetings with a wave and continued on. The path ended at the Rainbow, and there he found a small group of newcomers, each sitting quietly, alone. One of these, the missing Sandifur, was crouched at the very edge, his stumpy tail twitching rapidly, as he stared at the scene below.

"You are missing the party, little brother," Charlie said.
"I don't care," replied Sandifur, "I don't like Christmas anyway. "

Charlie only smiled. "I felt the same way my first year. Do you remember your very first Christmas with Mom and Dad? Remember the new scratching tree they gave you that year, and the catnip mice? And remember all the good things we got to eat? That was a great time, wasn't it?" Sandifur nodded, still gazing intently below. "I want to go back."
"I did too, " Charlie said, licking gently at his brother's ear. "But we can't, baby brother. This is our place now. But it's Christmas Eve and Mom and Dad miss us so much. Look, mom is lighting a candle right now, just for us and she is crying."

"Christmas Eve is her time to remember, little one, but tomorrow she will pass out the presents to all of our brothers and sisters, and she will be happy again. I want to show you something. Come with me."
Together the two climbed the arch of the Rainbow, and at the very top Charlie stopped. "Do you see that big silver cloud over there? Watch closely."

As Sandifur gazed the cloud began to swirl and gradually an image came into view. The clearing where he had left his family, and a larger gathering around the big, glowing pine tree. He could see the dogs, many more of them than when he had left, playing fetch and tug of war, and the kiddens, so many kiddens, sleeping in a heap, their soggy catnip mice forgotten in the grass.

Suddenly the kiddens all woke up, and the dogs ceased their play and stared into the darkness beyond the clearing, tails wagging in greeting.
And then, much to Sandifur's amazement, two humans stepped into the light."
"Hurry, Charlie, we have to go back," he said. " Mom and Dad, they're here!"
"Not just yet, Sandy. That cloud is our Window into Tomorrow.
Come back with me now, and join the others. The reunion will come. The Rainbow is God's promise."

Sandy reluctantly pulled his gaze away from the vision of the future, and followed Charlie. They found the others waiting for them at the base of the rainbow. "Is it time?" Charlie asked.
Terrie nodded, "They are waiting."
All of the Hale Bridgekids drew together, and looked over the edge, and along the entire length of the rainbow similar groups were gathered, all looking down at their former homes.

Suddenly the light of a million candles from the Earth met the glow from the Rainbow Bridge. "Now," Charlie whispered.

In unison three words were repeated again and again, and as they were spoken they merged with the bridge of light, flowing from the rainbow to the earth, and back again in ever increasing brilliance, and the colors of the rainbow merged with the light. "I love you," they all said, and the love entered every heart of the pet parents on earth, and the hearts of those who gathered at the Rainbow.

"Merry Christmas, Mom and Dad," Sandifur whispered again, as he watched the lights slowly fade. "I love you. I will be waiting.
"I will look ahead for I know you are part of our tomorrow. Come on everyone-it's time for our party. There is a huge stack of presents around our beautiful tree."

Aurich just celebrated his Bridge Day (Anniversary of the day he went to the Rainbow Bridge). This year there was

a special angel helping all the Bridge Kids celebrate the holiday. It was Aurich's Mommy Kathy. She used to say that

Aurich needed a Christmas tree because he died on Dec. 23rd  and I made this page for him. She wrote the poem-but when I was

working on this page I thought about Kathy's going Home.

She joined him on the web page as she joined him at the Rainbow Bridge. She no longer needs a Seeing Eye dog-but Aurich is so

used to helping her that I'm sure he rarely leaves her side. One day, my dear friend, when the time is right we will meet again.

Some say the Rainbow Bridge is a fantasy
That there is no place where our babies run free
But I hold the belief and hope in my heart
That my loved ones and I are not far apart

Warmed by the glow that radiates from above
I travel through life still touched by their love
From the moment I knew that their souls took flight
My cries could be heard piercing the night

Now they come to me from their special star
I can't see them but I know they aren't far
I sense they're here to ease my pain
And show me we'll be together again

They will come here to teach me to fly
When the day comes for me to take to the sky
Up to the heavens with my angels I'll soar
From that day on~ we will part nevermore

for who but I can see you lie
each night in fire glow?
And who but I can reach my hand
before we go to bed
and feel the living warmth of you
and touch your silken head?
And only I walk woodland paths
and see ahead of me,
your small form racing with the wind
so young again, and free.
And only I can see you swim
in every brook I pass
and when I call, no one but I
can see the bending grass.

Don't Cry for me When I'm Gone
So, though I give you all my heart,
The time will come when we must part.
But all around you, you will see,
Creatures that speak to you of me;
A tired horse, a hunted thing,
A sparrow with a broken wing ...
Pity - and help (I know you will)
And somehow, I will be with you still;
And I shall know, although I'm gone,
The love I gave you lingers on.

Dear Bird Buddy,

I'm so sorry for your loss-I have had many parakeets too. My only pet as a child was a parakeet-I loved her so much-it broke my heart when she died. I have had many parakeets since and a cockatiel. My dogs that I got much later would never touch them.Peso,
my last parakeet, had a way of poking their noses when they sniffed at him on the table that they stayed away no matter where they were-even on the floor next to him. I could go on and on. I was a "Bird Mommy" way before I was a "Dog Mommy".Maybe that's what draws me to the wild birds-or maybe not. But they sure stay in your heart. I hope you find peace in knowing your parakeet is at the Rainbow Bridge probably flying and playing near mine.
I found this collage-Bijou our cockatiel is in it-I have other pics but not many of my birds. I hope you find peace and can think of your bird with happy smiles.

Hi!

Meet Georgie who lived under a truck after being left off in our sub- division. A neighbor and I went together to have her spayed and find her a home. She never left my house! She was a good dog but to the end never forgot her abusive past. Her eyes would melt your heart. I gave her the best home possible and I believe she had a happy life. I know I will see her again!

I love you so very much
Good bye was hard to say
But the angels came and told me
It was my time to fly away

I knew that my leaving
Would make you so sad
Tears would flow from your eyes
Because you'd feel so bad

But I want you to know
I am very happy here
The sun always shines
And the nights are all clear

Gentle animals romp around
In the lush meadows of green
And over all in the sky
A brilliant rainbow can be seen

I have all that I want
Except for one thing, it's true
And that's what I'll  have
When I'm reunited with you

I will wait for you at the Rainbow Bridge forever and one day more...

They were all such amazing dogs-reading their stories brings tears to my eyes.I was just thinking that they must all be at the Rainbow Bridge running and playing with all the others now. One day as the people they rescued arrive-they will be called and thanked again and again-and they will say why are they making such a big deal-that was my job and I did it as well as I could.

K4  Thank You so much for filling the board with your original drawings of the beautiful babies who have gone to the Rainbow Bridge. I know the happiness and comfort you are bringing to the people who are missing their wonderful fur children. You are so talented. This picture really touched me as we had taken in a black standard poodle named McGoo who we lost way too soon. He used to run around the neighborhood with our little white Lhasa Shezam-What a pair.

At the Bridge the glow of these candles is reflected in all of the trees, and in the hearts of all the Bridge Kids as they observe the month in their own special ways.

For most it is a time of great joy, but each year there are always a few who draw apart..
Near to midnight, "home time" on December 24 Charlie realized someone was missing from the Hale Family gathering. "I'll be right back," he told his siblings. He passed many similar groupings of friends and families as he hurried down the well worn path, many called out to him, but he only acknowledged the greetings with a wave and continued on.

MY PRECIOUS KITTY

For Kay Meuler Jacobs

(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v308/Carewolf/extra-pics/Kitty_1.jpg) (http://smg.photobucket.com/user/Carewolf/media/extra-pics/Kitty_1.jpg.html)

I adopted Kitty when she was about 7 years old.  She had lived with a family who had several cats, and Kitty didn't like any of them.   Kitty was with me for about 12 years and was in charge.  She shared my bed, set our schedules, and was one of the most loving kitties I've ever had.
We will meet again, my darling, at the Rainbow Bridge.
Love and lots of Hugs and Kisses,
Mommy

Emma went to the Rainbow Bridge 3/8/15 and Max today, 9/22/15. They were littermates, I got them when they were 10 weeks old in 2000.

It hurts so much but so much worth the 15 years I had with them and all the wonderful memories.

Rest In Peace, Max & Emma, I will miss your snuggles...
