HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE.  Nice to see all of you.

Baz, those drinks look soooo good.  I think I WILL have 2.

Paulie...Nice addition to the song.  Kudos.  You are certainly a whirlwind.  I really couldn't begin to do all you do with family.  Just a few days Thanksgiving and Christmas tires  me out, and my daughters had them both....I just made a few additions ::)

LB,
you're right, 2022 does like a better number, but I have my doubts as to whether it will be a better year....

STLB, Absolutely you have a stool here.  We are a very welcoming bunch ;)

Oh, Duh, It's "that" Cheers, of course!
Guess I hadn't turned on my brain for 2022 yet.

I'm all for making this year better than last year.  Won't take much of a stretch to make it happen!

My microwave pooped out a couple of days ago.  I can't tell you how many times since I've opened the door to use it and then realize it's still not working ::)   Had to order a new one which won't come in until???

Wishing you all a happy week.....

Thanks to contributors of The 12 Days of Christmas lines for the 6th, 7th, and 8th days!  Awesome  ;)   Clever  ;D

So now that we are three days ahead, we can cruise until January 3.  Or keep the lyrics coming and we'll be early for 12th night on January 6.

Wow, I get a stool with my name on it?  What's the story on that honor?

Happy New Year to all of you!
Oh, Duh, It's "that" Cheers, of course!

Yep "that" Cheers.  ;D And we're glad you're here.

LB, Well both stink! You going back into the office tomorrow especially with the numbers going up in NJ and snow on top of that.

Temps are tumbling low so slippery. You be careful walking and driving.

No problem about the quotes. Thank you for posting them whenever you can.

jicaji, Well your microwave pooping out stinks too! I believe you about you forgetting and going to use it. We sure have become dependent on them. I remember when they first were being sold. I said nope I'm will not use this new machine. The old way is the best way. Well I've eaten those words waaaay too many times. I'd be lost without mine too now.

What's the approximate delivery time for your new microwave?

Wishing you a happy week too ....

***Reminder Note for those interested***  Tonight!!  Sunday, January 2, at 9 p.m. ET - the premiere of CNN's new film "Carole King & James Taylor: Just Call Out My Name." The two musical legends perform their greatest hits.
I will be watching and recording.  There will be some never-before-seen footage, so I'm told, too.

baz, Thanks for the info.

jicaji, You and I are in the clear with this current snow storm. Good!! How's your knee feeling since you got the Zeletta shot?

STL, My thinking cap is still on for the song .....

Heading out to do some errands. Brrrrrr temps dropped fast.

Have a good day all. Take care.

Nice LB! No snow! When I saw DC on the news this evening I thought maybe you got clobbered. Good you didn't.

You've been having headaches for a while now. Did they start after you got contacts? I think so.

When I wore contacts I saw just as good as when I wore my glasses. It does take a bit to get used to them.

Did you wear glasses more during the holidays since not working that would maybe be why you're not used to them yet? I think you said you wear glasses when at home. Darn that you have a years worth.

Paulie....My microwave should come on Thursday.....

Congrats on 10 bunches of grass.  I was trying to think of something and came up empty.

The shot I got turned out not to be Zilretta but something called Durolane.  Nothing so far  :'(

Expecting 1-3" snow Friday.  Not bad if it stays that way.  Things to do Friday.

tootles........

Hi All.  Snow didn't come my way - just lots of wind and some rain.  No problems at my place, but I was watching the big trees near me, and hoping they wouldn't fall.  My power blinked once, but I never lost it. Yay!  Stay safe in the winter weather, all!

I almost forgot.  I had fun ride into work today. Slid out of my apartment complex and down the road.  Icy big time.  Once I got to main roads better but I was nervous.  Drove slow most of the wayIt was definitly scary and I get to do it all oer again on  Friday with snow instead of ice

Hi, I was out of town today. Busy day.

jicaji, Tomorrow your microwave arrives. Yay!
Thanks to the bunches of grass. lol
Oh to Durolane not Zilretta. Why the change? Darn to nothing so far as of yesterday. How about today?
Same here tomorrow night 1 to 3 inches snow. Agreed to not bad if it stays that way. Hope so!

baz, Good to no problems weather wise at your place. Agree to watching trees sway in high winds being scary. I'm glad all was okay.

LB, Geez to the ice and your sliding this morning. Understandable you were nervous. Good that the main roads were better. Snow is better to drive on than ice any day!

Paulie..I have no idea.  When they denied Zilretta, my Dr. sent in a request for Durolane.  Probably cheaper for the ins. co.

LB I used to get so scared when I was working and had to drive on ice.  Very scary.

Baz...I get really nervous about "swinging" trees in high wind.  We're surrounded by them.

And still singing ....  :)

"On the eleventh day of Christmas my true love gave to me,
Eleven extra nest twigs,
Ten bunches of grass,
Nine starlings perchinng,
Eight running squirrels,
Seven excited birders,
Six scampering nest mice,
Five little fishes,
Four soaring hawks,
Three snowy inches,
Two big cornstalks,

Many thanks to Paulie and jicaji for the 10th and 11th day lyrics.
Since today is the 12th Day of Christmas, I'll finish up with this:

"On the twelfth day of Christmas
My true love brought to me,
Twelve donations, nest restorations, and cameras from RRP,
Eleven extra nest twigs,
Ten bunches of grass,
Nine starlings perching,
Eight running squirrels,
Seven excited birders,
Six scampering nest mice,
Five little fishes,
Four soaring hawks,
Three snowy inches,
Two big cornstalks,
And a long stick from a nearby tree."

Thanks and Happy New Year to All of the Cheers posters and readers.

Well, once again, they were wrong.  One to three inches looks like about a foot of snow as I look out the window.  I have to admit, it does look beautiful outside.

Paulie, my microwave is now coming tomorrow....Saturday....we'll see.  Funny how I'm actually getting used to NOT using it.  It turns out it's not the end of the world.  I just have to keep reminding myself to defrost on my counter whatever I'm going to make for dinner rather than just opening the microwave to "defrost." LOL.

LB, Good that you planned to take your time driving to work. GMA morning news said a state of emergency was declared for NJ. You be careful! Hopefully work told you to stay home to work remotely today. Uh-oh to it being a bad work week.

jicaji, Geesh okay to microwave arriving Saturday .. hopefully! Good that you're getting used to not using one. Interesting how we adapt to things when we have to. There's no other choice really. lol All these years I haven't defrosted anything in my microwave. I've always used counter top. Maybe I should try it.

My area got the predicted snow plus some additional. Total 5 to 7 inches. Temp now is 25 with feels like 11. Very high winds now and strong gusts. Brrrrrr

Paulie....Micowave on the way...delivery today.....Fingers crossed.
Have fun with your granddaughters.  Do you ever have a day with NOTHING to do? LOL

My little chipmunk is in hybernation....However, every once in awhile I see her stick her little head out to see if it's Spring yet.  She lives under a small wooden platform on the ground by my deck.  I was concerned with all this snow how she would manage....Well, she made two tiny holes in the snow ...Kind of an exit and entrance by one of the corners, front and side....My husband put a few pieces of fruit, etc. for her right by one of the holes.  Hopefully she'll find it.

Have a good weekend everyone.

Jicaji Love the story of the lil chip munk I would be in heaven watching.  I got my squirrells and birds back so far no rats.
Copper hide and seek

when I first walk in to the left is an open doorway to the kitchen Its like a gally ? Kitchen. If you go straight from the front door then make a right is a tiny hall which leads to bathroom bedroom and washer dryer.  On the other end is anotheropen door wat which leads to dining area. than its all open to the right is the living room which you can get to the kitchen both  ends of living room. so yu pretty much can run laps in circle.  I hope I made it clear.
So if I get up to go to the kitchen copper will come from one end to see where I am then  I run to the other end of kitchen close to living room  and stand where he cant see me. as he turns around to  meet me from the other end  I run to the other end and stand where he cant see me. we go back and fourth that way. Sometime he will go into the bedroom to see if  I went there. Sometimes I do go there when he is in the dining area when he cant see me go there.  He will also go to the front door and smell it to see if I left  LOL  sometimes he tricks me and doesnt go all the way so when I go around corner he is standig there.  LOL   He seems to like it but he has such a blank look in his face I cant tell. His tail wags.

WE went for a walk and he started limping twice.  I think the salt they put down is not pet friendly so I turned around to go back didnt want him to do his long walk with all the salt  :(

LB, I'm sure the salt was bothering Copper.

AND, ta da.....My microwave came today.  Tomorrow my husband will hook it up.  It's an over the range micro.

Now that we have all the accumulation of snow, tomorrow it will rain, then everything will turn to ice.  Ugh.

SED everyone.

Paulie....Micowave on the way...delivery today.....Fingers crossed.
Do you ever have a day with NOTHING to do? LOL[/b]

Hi Paulie, bet you're tired after your weekend with your graddaughters.
jicaji, My first answer .. Nope!! Lol  Second answer .. Yes! Exhausted! But a great weekend. I slept in today I was so tired!

Awww cute about your little chipmunk. Did she find the fruit?

Yay you got your microwave!!

Is Rizzo looking all handsome now? I'm sure he is.  :)

Paulie, you be careful on the ice, too, if you got any.  Maybe yours is all rain... a good day to take a nap.  ;) :D

Jicaji, yay on the microwave!   :)  What will you defrost in it first?

Hi LB, Sorry for my delayed post. I was out of town today. Excellent that your drawer was fixed yesterday! That was fast!

Nice that you had today off.

Well it appears that weather guy on FB you mentioned is correct about a storm this weekend. My local weather forecast is for a Noreaster beginning Sunday evening into Monday. Forecast said depending on the storm's movement in my area it could be snow, ice or rain. In any event something is making it's way up the East Coast.
Yay you have off Monday.

Went to do weekly shopping yesterday and shelves are getting sparse in some aisles and prices way up.  AND, there was no canned cat food on the shelves.  WOW.  Wondering if people are nervous about the virus OR the weather.

Have a good, warm, safe and healthy weekend everyone.

Good morning...

It's a nippy 8 degrees this morning. Went up to 9.6 so far...Feel badly for all the little animals who live outside.

Stay warm guys.

Oh I just made a triple chcolate cake with chocolate/raspberry frosting....Had to help keep the house warm with the oven.  LOL

Hi LB and jicaji,

LB, Same here being tired of hearing about weather forecast. Initially 6-10 inches snow then 3-5 then 6 to 8" followed by ice and rain.
Whatever happens tomorrow lets just do it, get it done and move on.

jicaji, Definitely agree to lots of empty shelves and prices outrageous. This is ridiculous. Not ending any time soon probably. Inflation as it is should not be happening.

Oh my gosh you have me laughing about keeping the house warm by baking a cake. lol A triple chocolate cake with chocolate/raspberry frosting!! Sounds delicious. With our one digit temps I say stay cozy warm inside and stuff yourself with that delicious cake!  :)

Sorry. This is longer than I had hoped to explain.

I've had a busier than usual past couple days. Remember my refrigerator breaking last June? Then waiting 2 months for new one that was 1/4 maybe 3/4" too large to fit into where old fridge was? Well that began a kitchen renovation that I've wanted to do many many years. After planning with contractor since June and ordering new cabinets, appliances, flooring and whatever else it all began yesterday/Friday one week ahead of schedule due to Nor'easter tomorrow to remove dining room hutch, table, chairs into storage before storm arrives. Reno was to begin next week. I've been hustling to pack and move kitchen & dining room into boxes and other rooms sooner than expected. The wall between kitchen and dining room has now been removed yesterday. My kitchen looks like .. well .. empty down to drywall.  I kept my old stove to continue to cook until it has to go. The bedrooms are full of boxes of kitchen/dining room stuff and tray tables in kitchen to put a few things on to assist with cooking. The noise wasn't all that bad yesterday except when the wall between kitchen/dining was removed but pretty much bearable.

Interesting is the new cabinets, backsplash, appliances and flooring ordered months ago all just arrived this week. Shipping delays are no joke!!

I invited some family here today and was able to cook the meal. I was determined to pull that off and somehow I did. I was determined.  ;D

That being said I'm beat and calling it a night and I definitely plan to sleep in tomorrow before Monday morning when reno resumes.
I'm not complaining. I've dreamt of this reno for years. I'm smiling and glad it's finally here.  :)

SED Cozy in .. keep warm .. sleep well .. and prayers for others and animals less fortunate in this frigid predicted stormy weather.

P.S. Some day I might learn how to condense my words for smaller posts. Now that would be a miracle.  ;)

Paulie....Noooo, don't condense....Love your posts.  Good luck with your renovations.

It's 3degrees this morning.   45 degrees for tomorrow..... The birds coming to the feeder are all puffed out.  Feel sorry for all the outside animals.  I keep putting out warm water for the squirrels and birds, but it just freezes up really quickly.

Number 1

LB, you have to get yourself a nice warm hat that covers your ears for these morning walks when it is so cold.  When I was able to take Rizzo on his walks, I found a hat really helped keep my body heat in.
Title: Re: Cheers 2022
Post by: paulie on January 16, 2022, 06:06:44 PM
jicaji, Aww thanks about not condensing my posts.  :) As you see below I did not condense.  ;) Thanks also about the kitchen reno.
You mention "when" you were able to take Rizzo for walks. Has the knee shot helped at all yet?

LB, You sounded reeealy cold this morning! Agreed you need a warm hat and get ear muffs too. Good that you have off tomorrow. Thanks about reno and okay will try to remember to take pictures.

Birds here were all puffed out keeping warm today too. Lot's of new ones showed up at the feeders too.

Well trying to cook meals during a kitchen reno is not easy but can be done!! When I packed the kitchen I put all dishes, glasses, utensils etc on bed in a spare bedroom Then boxed all the stuff in all the cabinets in individual boxes and lined them up in bedroom. We put a long 10 foot table in bedroom so it's full all across the top and boxes under table.
Well we decided to make a double batch of spaghetti and meatballs today. Oh my gosh that was tricky without countertops and a kitchen sink! Then remembering where the different utensils were put. We kept going back and forth to bedroom then also to bathroom where I put a plastic bin in the bathtub to wash pots utensils dishes etc. Then I remembered I'd have to use strainer for double batch of noodles. lol
Umm the bathroom sink did the job. We got everything made and into containers and I washed the huge pots etc in the tub drying them as I went along and putting back into their place in bedroom. After I got everything washed and dried I then cleaned the sink and tub and faucets and countertops etc. That bathroom sure is clean! And my lower back and knees are feeling it! I might not be cooking as many meals as I thought and just order take out.  ;D We did cook some things last week too to freeze during reno so we should be good for this week. Reno estimate 3 weeks maybe 4 but the reno guys accomplished a lot yesterday so maybe it won't take so long. It depends on delivery of flooring, appliances, cabinets and backsplash too. Time will tell. Anyway, that's today's story about cooking in a kitchen with just a stove in it. Hahahaha I thought it would be a good idea but not soooo much extra work entailed. One day at a time.

It began snowing here at 4pm and is to snow till 10pm with one inch an hour at times. Then sleet then rain. Maybe 6 inches.  Weatherman said when done it's going to be a slushy mess. Sounds like it!
Reno guy texted me today they'd like to come tomorrow but he'll see what the roads are like tomorrow morning.
In any event my husband and I are staying inside and have plenty to eat!  ::) ;D

Oops forgot the quotes. #1 but all three are very good.

Number 1.....Number 3 is good, but I have much dificulty with that one LOL..

Paulie....you continue to amaze me :) and the knee shot did diddly squat.  I'm pretty much at the end of the road until I make up my mind to get the replacement.

LB...As Paulie said, ear muffs wil help if you don't want to wear a hat.  Good that you're off today.

Well today is going to 46 degrees....big jump from 3 degrees yesterday morning :o  Just raining right now.  If it goes down later, we're in trouble.

Have a good one.  Stay safe, warm.

LB, You have me laughing about your "I hate hats!!" Well I guess you do! Lol Be careful driving tomorrow. Look out for the other guy!

jicajil Me amazing? Nope. Determined and stubborn? Yep!!  ;D
Darn it to the knee shot!! Well you tried. I wonder if the one that the (censored word) ins company won't pay for would help? Creeps.
You went to 46 degrees today! Nice!

My area got dumped on with the Nor'easter snow then holy mud lots of hard hitting heavy sleet then rain. This morning was one big slushy mess! The wind and gusts were so strong that 2 of my Blue Bird feeders along with deck poles to hang them and one of my solar lanterns blew off but landed on the deck. Only the solar lantern broke. Luckily one of the reno guys shoveled when they got here. I really appreciated it!

Last night I decided to throw sliced apples off the deck for the deer and not go into the yard with snow mess. When I got to the corner of the deck and ready to start throwing apples I suddenly noticed they were right there down below me! Boy I was surprised. It's happened before but I didn't know if they'd show up in that weather last night. My husband had said if they're hungry they'll come. They did. They eat browse from my garden and trees too. Anyway, suddenly the snow turned to heavy sleet and the wind was gusting. I had on boots and  long winter coat with hood. A young deer ran to it's mama and held its head close next to her side to shield from the sleet. I'd throw apples then they'd look for, find and eat them. When the one large doe would stop and look in my direction I froze in place. lol And dang the wind and sleet were gusting. It was fun though honestly. We finished up then I slowly backed up to go inside and they walked away. Last winter about 5 to 7 laid under the pine and arborvitae trees at the far end of the yard. That was cool.

Is anyone ready for Spring yet?  :)

OOh I'll have to check that one out.  I am watching yellow stone now....  I am being so forgetful lately I am starting to worry.   I think I eft my work computer at work.  When I got home I went ot get my lap top bag and it wasnt in car.. So I guess it's at work..  I sure hope so.   I only went from work to home.  Other things as well I forget.

I also found out someone I work with (shes in defferent department) has gout well she hasnt been feeling well.  She is in critical condition in ICU.  she had surgery for 10-12 hours on her leg  It turned out she has too mnay blood clots they had to amputate her leg. I am so sad for her.

LB, Good your computer was at work. Don't worry about forgetting things sometimes. Although computer yeah a bit more. What I mean is we all forget things especially when add'l things on our minds. You do I'm sure off and on.
Very sad news about your co-worker. Have you heard how she's doing now? I said a prayer for her recovery and going forward.

jicaji, Cool about your deer under trees too. I bet they're around at times when you don't see them. Look for hoof tracks in the snow. That always gives them away. lol

Yepper reno is coming along. All new wiring in lots of places and brining electrical more up to code. Bob my contractor asked me the size and location of my new dining table so he can line up the recessed lighting over it. Ummmm I didn't choose one yet? lol I'm having a really hard time getting it. I know exactly what I want but when I look online or go to furniture stores (and I began in November) they're either out of stock or shipping dates 4+ months. I know I'll get it eventually. I'm determined. We're going out to some more stores tomorrow to look. We're going to an Amish store (great built furniture) to look tomorrow and also ask what it would cost to have one made to the specifications I want. I'm afraid to hear what that would cost. New dry wall begins going up tomorrow then new flooring delivered and laid Fri maybe or Monday. The new appliances are delivered Monday too. They'll be put into the living room until ready to install in kitchen. New cabinets have to be installed before appliances. This has been quite interesting and learning experience. Sometimes I feel like someone on HGTV saying, Ugh! I'm living through a renovation. lol Very interesting indeed.

LB, Same here tomorrow with 1 to 3 inches snow. Blah. Luckily my area is supposed to maybe miss the coastal storm on Saturday but looks like maybe NJ will get it.
jicaji, What about you and the path of the snow and coastal storm? I think it misses you.

Well, I have some dishes to wash that are in the plastic bin in my bathtub.  ;D I'm literally laughing because I reeealy didn't realize all that would be involved. I knew some 'stuff' but not all the intricate details. Again very interesting. I didn't expect to be able to look up into the attic from part of the kitchen ceiling they had to cut open to run wiring for recessed lighting. I'm glad there aren't any critters up there!!

Cozy in .. stay warm .. and SED

Paulie....Wow, we got a beautiful dining room table years ago from the AMISH country.  Built from oak barn boards.  A local furniture place had it as a floor model when we saw it and we bought it there and then.  We bought chairs from an unfinished wood store and had them stained to match the table.  They did a great job.  The table has a leaf stored underneath it to make it seat a few more people and two flat drawers underneath to store napkins, etc.  Great for holidays.

Yes, we're getting mixed precip...ice, snow until noon today, most schools are closed.  Not much accumulation but probably slippery.  I cancelled my hair appt. this morning which is in the  next town.  I get nervous driving in this kind of weather, eventhough it's supposed to stop in a few hours.  Probably be fine after 12, but I cancelled anyway.  It's just about 31 degrees, enough to freeze

I'm looking for deer tracks....but don't see any.  I've been busy giving the squirrels warm water and apples on the desk.  Feel badly for them since they can't dig up what they've buried since the soil is frozen.

LB, glad you found your computer at work.  Whew.

Sooo, I cancelled my hair appt. today because it was so miserable here this morning with the snow and some ice, and then, of course, when I would have had to leave the house, the sun came out and all was good.  I could have gone afterall.  Oh well, next week ::)

jicaji, Your dining room table and chairs sound very nice! Is the leaf underneath a butterfly leaf that pops up when you pull both ends of the table? The drawers underneath sound very handy. Nice!
Darn to you cancelling your hair appointment twice. Well better safe than sorry. Next week works I agree. I think my next hair appointment is next week too.

Keep looking for deer prints and I bet you'll see some eventually.

How's your Violet doing?  :)

LB, TGIF for you! This is that time of the year for the blahs. There's a term for it but I don't remember it right now. It has to do with the lack of sun and light with shorter days and I'm sure this frigid weather isn't helping either. I felt myself feeling that way last week one day. Well it's the weekend so enjoy resting in your bed and be comfortable I say!  :)

Oh! I just remembered you said you're watching Yellowstone. How do you like it? My husband and I really like it. We watched the very first show and haven't missed one yet! Yellowstone had it's finale for this season a few weeks ago. We're looking forward to next season already!

Thanks for the beautiful picture Lani.

Paulie...My Violet is doing very well.  Loving all the snow they've had in MA.  However, my oldest granddaughter around the corner had the gift from China....But thankfully just had a bit of a runny nose  BTW, she's triple vaxxed....go figure.

The leaf for my dining room table is actually inconvenient to maneuver.  There's a drawer underneath that you have to pull out and take the leaf out and it's really heavy, but it serves its purpose when we have alot of family for the holidays.

We loved Yellowstone...1883 is supposed to be great too on Netflix Prime.

Still no deer prints.  It was 8 degrees this morning....brrrrr.

Have a good weekend all.

Hi Lani, Thank you for the warm wishes. The same to you too. Gorgeous photo! Nice seeing you here.  :)

Hi LB

Hi jicaji, Good news about Violet. Sorry about your oldest granddaughter and glad it was mild. Geez she's triple vaxxed!

Your table leaf does sound tricky and heavy but good it serves its purpose. Good you don't have to do that often.

My husband has been watching 1883 and he really likes it.

Deer haven't been regular here either in the low low temps but appear every few nights not nightly lately.
Same here waking to singe digit temps. Yes brrrrrrrr

Copper seems to be  suffering from separation anxiety but while I'm home.☹️ He paces back and fourth  non stop.  I have been working from home alternating weeks for the past 2 years. He seems to know the weeks I go to work. He will go up on my bed or play with his kong toy as I'm packing  up to leave. He is ok when I go to work. The problem is when I am home. He doesn't know what to do with himself. He stays out in livng room while I work. He won't go to my bedroom to sleep on the bed like he does when I go to work.seems like he wants to be close to me  while I'm home. Then when I go out to grocery store or to car or to take garbage out he barks constantly..when I go grocery shopping he is barking when I leave and when I get home he is barking. (Not all the time) but he is laying by front door waiting for me. It's like he knows when im suppose to be home and if I go off schedule by leaving when I should be home he goes bonkers. He's already on fluxentine. He has the adaptil collar. I am buying the diffuser as well. Is there anything else I can do?? It's starting to increase my anxiety level myself...😪😪😪😪

LB I'm sure you've heard this, but do you leave some of your clothes around with your scent .... If you're going out just for a bit, maybe leave a familiar noise like the tv or radio on?

Thanks Jacaji  I do leave tv on for him. the weird thing is he knows when I am going to work and he is fine  wit hthat or at least he acts like he is. Its when I am home on the weekends of home working from home and I run to get a package at the front office or runt to get groceries etc.  He seems to be better today but I  didnt go out. I did put th new collar on adaptil last night and the difussor came but he was acting fine before the diffusor.

I finally made it here!  :)

jicaji, Did you eat some pie on Pie Day?  ;D
Your rescheduled hair appt is this week right? I have one this week too. I go every four weeks for a trim and styling.

LB, It sure does sound like Copper knows your work schedule and when you're home but go out for a bit it throws him off. Poor guy. I understand his stress level raising yours too. What's a diffuser for a dog color? A calming scent?

I laughed at you saying you work from home this week so let it snow!!  ;D

Good Morning and Brrrrrrr here too.

jicaji,  ;D to you making an applie pie. Your weather should be good for your hair appointment tomorrow. Mine's good here for mine today but I'm not looking forward to going out in artic blast cold. lol

Reno is coming along. Long process. Reno began Jan 14. All cabinets and appliances removed at the beginning and wall between kitchen and dining room removed. Next was all new electrical wiring throughout kitchen and recessed lighting holes and wiring installed then dry wall throughout which took a few days finally done last Friday. This past Monday the spackle guy began working daily and he'll finish tomorrow. Then tomorrow or next Monday the new flooring is installed. After that new cabinets and appliances. I was told will be finished about second week in February.

The new appliances were to be delivered Monday but I got phone call that one of the delivery guys got sick so truck sidelined and delivery is now to be tomorrow. Will probably have to put them in living room until install day. My family room already has boxes in it with new sink, faucet, insinkerator and 2 big boxes with benches for one side of the new dining table plus new pads and carpet and runner for dining room. No room for appliances in there. And two of the 3 bedrooms have boxes and long table with boxes on top and underneath it with everything packed from kitchen.  ::) I know what boxes have what in them and I packed and put things on top of the beds so putting things back into kitchen should go smoothly. I hope!

Oh! I had scheduled the new table to be delivered the second week in February. Yesterday I got a FedEx text that table would be delivered yesterday. No!! because I paid for guys to bring table inside, assemble and they discard all boxes and packing material. Weird thing is FedEx isn't supposed to deliver. FedEx does not enter homes. A freight company for Wayfair is to deliver. I called Wayfair and they were as confused as me. Turns out the freight company already has table and top and will await delivery Fed 9. Noone knows how FedEx got involved. I said if FedEx shows up here today with table and top they'll be leaving with it too.  ;D

This has been and continues to be an long interesting process. A really nice thing is all the electrical in kitchen being rewired, updated and up to code. We're still doing a bit of cooking on stove until it's removed for new one but I'm definitely not making any big meals any more.

jicaji, Your new furniture is delivered tomorrow, correct?

LB, I saw that coastal storm that's coming along eastern coast. Good luck!! My area is right on the line so I think it misses me but we're to get really high winds.

jicaji, It looks like you'll be getting snow too.

Oops forgot the quote. #1  :)

Paulie....Whew....Big "doins" at your  house.  Bet you'll be glad when it's all done.  Interesting about FedEx.

My furniture will be delivered on Tuesday now.  My two chairs and sofa will be picked up Monday...So all in all good timing.

And yes, big storm warnings coming for Saturday.

Oh, and now my daughter has Covid, my middle granddaughter and SIL.  Ugh.  BTW, all vaxxed and boosted.  :o

So, We got the N95 masks today at our Town Hall....Went to the store with it on and when we finally got up to the cashier, I felt like I couldn't breathe and had to go outside for fresh air and let my husband take over.  Don't like that mask at all.  Awful.

LB, How's Copper doing?  Good luck with the snow Saturday.  Glad you won't have to worry about going to work.

jicaji, I'm so sorry to read about your daughter, middle granddaughter and SIL. And each is vaxxed and boosted! How are they feeling now? I hope they have mild symptoms.

At my hair appt this past Wed my hair stylist (long time friend I've known her over 20 years) told me she had Covid too. She's also double vaxxed and boosted and eats super healthy, runs to exercise, has been taking extra Vitamin D for a while and she still got it. She said she was so sick, foggy thinking and achy she couldn't pick up her phone at times. That's scary.

Definitely good timing about your sofa and chairs being removed then delivery of new furniture. That's exciting.  :)

Interesting about you and the N95 mask. That doesn't sound pleasant at all. I don't know if there's any in my area or not.

Geez it sounds like you are going to get clobbered maybe with snow. Yes good your food shopping is done. Stay home and cozy in.
Maybe make a yummy cake?  :)

Remember to give an update on your family members please.

Good Morning  Stay safe Jcaji!!! Looks like you are getting a lot of snow.  I have no Idea about me it was at 2 FT than it was 0. Now it's 4-11"
LB, You stay safe with the snow too. I heard blizzard conditions possible for South Jersey. Geez your forecast went from 2 ft to 0 to 4 to 11 inches. This storm definitely has forecasters busy following and forecasting it.

Same with my area. We were to get just high winds, gust and single digits. It snowed hard here this morning but then melted. Then I got a weather alert on my phone for snow maybe a dusting to 3 inches and now maybe more depending on the direction it goes but my area isn't supposed to get much last I heard.

I'm glad you don't have to try to drive to work and it's TGIF for you!  :)

Awww to cutie Copper. What's he doing? Following you all around? Have you two played hide and seek lately? That's funny.

#2 always always be Grateful.
#3 definitely. I've visualized my kitchen/dining room reno for literally 20 years. It took a while but finally got here!  ;D

Update: Drywall and spackling finished. New flooring began yesterday and finished today. Also today all the new appliances were delivered. The new refrigerator has been here since August lol when old fridge broke and started the idea of the kitchen/dining room renovation. Monday the cabinets will be delivered. Yay!

Today my contractor said that he just got updated lists on products and cabinet prices have increased big time and paint prices are really high. I'm lucky my cabinets were ordered last summer. Took months to arrive at warehouse too. I'm going tomorrow to choose paint samples to make a decision. I'll choose three then paint each on an area of the wall(s). I can visualize the color I want so I hope I find it. My contractor also said it's hard to find some color paints. I'm looking for a light gray to light/medium gray along with white trim so that should be easy .. I hope!

Paulie....I've been going to my hair dresser for 20+ years now.  She told me yesterday that they had to close down the salon the first two weeks in January as they all caught the virus EXCEPT FOR HER AND SHE'S THE ONLY ONE WHO HASN'T BEEN VAXXED.  Go figure.

My daughter and granddaughter and SIL are feeling better already.  Just tired and cold symptoms.

Snow has started to fall again tonight.  Sounds like it's going to be a big storm.  Of course I'll bake something.  Tonight I made braised short ribs for the first time.  Came out really well.  Enough for leftovers tomorrow night. maybe with Baked macaroni and cheese.  Just hope we don't lose power or any trees.

Stay safe LB and Paulie.

Today we have mostly slate colored juncos at the feeder.  We have about 4/5" so far this morning.  No squirrels on the deck yet.
I always feel so badly for all the animals out in this weather.

jicaji, Geesh to your hair salon having to shut down due to virus but your hair dresser not being vaxxed did not get it?! That's crazy. Frustrating too!

Good news your daughter, granddaughter and SIL are feeling better and have mild symptoms now. Thanks for the update.

What are your weather conditions for you right now? Radar shows it looks like your state is still getting snow. LB too. Any idea how much you've gotten so far?
My area was just on the line but west enough to get just 1/2 to 1 inch snow. It's super frigid 7 degrees and very high winds. Brrrrr

Come to think of it no squirrels have been on my deck yet today either. They'd probably blow off! Lots of birds at the feeders though. My birdbath is empty so I have to go out to fill with water. I have a heater in it to keep from freezing.

Your dinner last night sounds delicious and yum left overs today too. Mmmm Baked mac n cheese. What are you going to bake?  :)
I put a roast, sliced red skin potatoes and carrots in my crock pot this morning to cook on low for 8 hours for dinner this evening.
Talking about your dinner yesterday and mine today is making me hungry. Lol

We wound up with about 8".  Not bad given all the end of the world forecasts....

Just saw a squirrel on the deck.  When we clear it off, I'll put some food out for him and hot water.  Right now it's only 8 degrees.

Paulie, how did your roast come out?  With all the cooking and baking I've been doing, it's official, I've gained 10 pounds....Ugh

LB and jicaji, You both did pretty good with the snow amounts you got. It still needs shoveled or snow blower. Ugh

LB, I bet Copper was upset he couldn't go with you when you went out to clean off your car. Poor guy wants to walk and do his 'business'. lol Brrrrr to him wanting a longer walk.
Nice that you put peanuts and bird seed out.
Be careful driving to work this week.

jicaji, Will Jim clear an area for Rizzo to go outside?
Aww your squirrel was looking for its treats.
The roast came out tender and good. Leftovers for us now today.
Oh geez to you gaining weight but it will come off too. One thing for sure those good meals and baking = cozy comfort foods during the winter!!

I have laundry and vacuuming to do here today. Tomorrow's schedule starts really early! The first reno guy said he'll arrive 6:45am and the new cabinets delivered at 7am. We're setting our clock alarm for 5am to have time to wake up and have coffee!! I don't remember the last time we woke up that early. lol

All four reno guys will be here tomorrow for cabinets install and I think finish installing all the recessed lighting. I swear they have so many openings in both the kitchen and now combined dining room ceilings (with the wall dividing them has been removed) when all the recessed lights are on plus under cabinet lights and lights in some cabinets with glass doors you'll be able to see my house from outer space! I think they could have eliminated 3 of the recessed lights honestly but what do I know. First major reno I have had done.

Oh! yesterday after my husband and I went to store to choose paint color. I want a light gray for dining area walls and white trim around window, deck door. Sounds easy right? Nope! I've never seen so many colors and variations of gray in my life! I chose 4 samples and put them on wall to choose. Interesting how blue came through in one sample and beige came through in another sample. I finally decided on a light gray with white trim. Cabinets are white and I want to bring out or compliment the dark and light veins that run through the countertops. Choosing and deciding these things has not been easy then I worry I've chosen the correct things because once this reno is done oh geez it's done.

jicaji, I thought of you when I saw blue coming through the gray. You chose blue to paint your walls, correct? Did you find it kind of difficult choosing the color you decided on?

Well I'm going to have another mug of coffee then get the day started.

Oops back again because I forgot quote.  ;D #3

Paulie 5A wakeup easy at my house, I have Pain-in-the-Ash who has her clock set at that time.  Could have volunteered her.

Listening to your reno details makes me never want to do whole house reno.  I don't like to have to do any of it, including even the shopping and picking.

Truth be told I had to get a new phone, had to get more than I wanted or needed, and now have to learn to operate.  It even weighs more, so now the purse gets even heavier.  They made me switch my 3G flip to a 4G flip.  I don't like when I have mandates of any kind (think virus).  Another mandate that has me aggrevated right now.  About 7 years ago had to buy a new fridge.  Love and always had side x side; also wanted ice maker.  In order to get fridge I wanted to fit in alloted space, I actually had bought 3 and in the end returned 2.  Ice maker was/is the problem.  Nice size capacity plus side x side = ice maker in the door.  I was trying not to do that cuz I don't like that look.  (Forgot - I also had to hire carpenter to alter my hand crafted cherry wood cabinets and widen kitchen pocket doorway.  ( All makes at a certain capacity measure the same height, so again I had no option.)

Well, already had 3 minor repairs, and yesterday discovered repair #4.  That in-the-door ice maker was not making Ton his ice - but it had soaked a good portion of the kitchen berber carpet.  Tried a couple troubleshooting tricks that didn't work, read the manuels, checked out all the help sites online.  Nada worked.  Time to call for service.  Recording of course warns of slow time because of virus.
Not open on Sunday so have to wait until tomorrow to try to get a service date.

Can hardly wait until ice maker I didn't want or phone I didn't want gets taken care of.  Wonder what the next "must" will be issued.

Hope to have some success soon on something.  Your longed for Kitchen is getting there and advancing - you've waited and wanted for a long time.  So glad for you.  We're all having fun anticipating along with you.

Rant/venting closed.

Paulie, LOL, Jim makes a trail for RIzzo first thing on a snowy morning.  And clears a small hole for the chipmunk who is under the small wooden platform hibernating.

I got a bunch of samples for the blue in the family room....Of course, I can't remember the name, but it is a "chalky blue."  It takes me forever to pick out anything, from paint to furniture, to rugs, and on and on.

Nice to "see" you Puff

Hello  So my drama for the day!!! LOL well, there is a background story. My bos the one who lost his home from IDa has been out of the office pretty mch for the last 5 months.Trying to get hhis house fixed etc.  His boss was getting tired of it and is now making him come into the office3x a week every a week. This week was to be the first week So his girlfriend and kids who live with  him tested positive for covid last  Thursday.  He has been testing himself all through weekend negative. Today he decides he  has symptoms and asked to leave early  to get a PCR test Oh when he tested negaitve it was all with rapid tests which are only abot 60-70% accurate. So he has been with someone since Thursday who tested positive since thusday and he has been in the office yestrday and Today...  Our policy is following hte CDC policy. If you had your vaccine within 6 months and no symptoms and been exposed to someone who was positive go into office b ut where mask.  He wasnt wearing mask at his desk but he was when walking around. So we wont know if he is positve until Thurday/Friday. SO should I get tested myself?  I have rapid tests. Fingers crossed I dont get it

Absolutely Number 1 for me.  I've thought alot about energy within the body and what happens to all that energy living in our bodies throughout our lives when we die, does it all just go away??....just a thought.

Geez LB....I'd be a bit uncomfortable with that situation for sure.  Could it be that maybe he wants some more time off LOL?  Just me being me.  Anyway, hope your desk isn't too close to his in the event he tests positive.

Do you feel like you have any symptoms?  Hope not.

Hi  :) Good evening or good night or whatever time it is.  ::)  ;D  I'm laughing at myself. That about explains how busy it's been here then doing errands and stuff after the reno guys are done for the day. My husband and I definitely have been sleeping good after long days. He told me I was snoring one night and when he got up to take one of his pills at 5am I woke up, looked at him, then back to sleep and snoring again. Oh my gosh! lol
Okay enough of that. I'm going back to read what I've missed since the other day.

LB, I bet Copper was upset he couldn't go with you when you went out to clean off your car. Poor guy wants to walk and do his 'business'. lol Brrrrr to him wanting a longer walk.
Copper came with me. He sat in the  car!!!  I started up the car and turned on the heat for him . lol
LB, Awwwww That was nice! Copper didn't have to pace while you were out and you kept him warm in the car too. Now that's love and consideration!

P
Hi Puff! I always enjoy seeing you in Cheers. Oh my gosh! Pain in the Ash! Lol I love that. Whoa! She wakes up daily at 5am! Can you ignore her or no? Pull the blanket up over your head and pretend you're snoring!!

I'm with you. I couldn't do a whole house reno either. No way!

I hear you about having to get a new phone and mandates too. Oh yeah!

Oh my gosh! You bought 3 refrigerators then returned 2! Now that's determination to get what you want. Good for you! Well kind of what you wanted but not the ice maker.
Your hand crafted cheery wood cabinets sound beautiful and I'm sure you were not happy having to have a carpenter alter a cabinet then alter a pocket door too?! I love pocket doors and can't imagine how one can be altered. Very true all makes are now a certain capacity and measurements to get what one wants. My old fridge breaking down is what lead to this entire kitchen/dining room reno. Although I confess, like I mentioned before, I've been dreaming of doing this for many years.

Uh-oh to the ice maker, Ton's ice and water on carpet. Have you gotten a service repair date yet?

I highlighted your comment about ice maker and phone you didn't want. I really enjoy how you tell a story and your comments.
Don't mention your next 'must'. Murphy's Law will happen!

Aww thank you for commenting you're having fun anticipating the reno and completion. Me too!!  ;D

Please don't stray away from Cheers for long. I/we enjoy 'seeing' you here. And I love how you tell a story. Makes my day!

Oh! Did you ever get that rabbit wire up around a garden last spring or summer? Now's a good time for me to ask during winter!  ;D

Modified: Why is there so much empty space below here?

Paulie, LOL, Jim makes a trail for RIzzo first thing on a snowy morning.  And clears a small hole for the chipmunk who is under the small wooden platform hibernating.

I got a bunch of samples for the blue in the family room....Of course, I can't remember the name, but it is a "chalky blue."  It takes me forever to pick out anything, from paint to furniture, to rugs, and on and on.

Nice to "see" you Puff

Tootles.......
jicaji, Jim making a trail for Rizzo and clearing the area where's there's a small hole for the chipmunk is awesome! That's nice!

Your 'chalky blue' wall color sounds pretty and relaxing too. I hear you about picking out things. Unless we're absolutely certain, which sometimes I definitely know what I want when I see it, but other times. Nope. Takes a while I agree then I second guess myself.

It sounds like you and I would have fun shopping together!! LOL

Hello, What a long day.  I lost my keys I could not find them and I didnt know they were gone until I was ready to leave for work . I frantically looked everywhere in the apartment. I finally decided to venture outside where I have walked copper all weekend. As I was approaching back to my apartment I looked down and saw somthing odd in the snow.  It was my keys... Theey must have been there since Saturday when I went to shovel my far out.  I was wearing a hoodie and must have fell out of th efront pocket.
LB! That had to be very frustrating! I'm glad you found your keys.

Remember when you looked for your mother's ring for days then one day 'bam' there it was right in front of you when you looked down!!

Hi

Number 2

LB, glad you found your keys..You were lucky..I know the feeling when you can't find them right away.

Had my furniture delivered today.  Looks really nice i think.  Now we have to look for an area rug and some new throw pillows.

Hi Paulie

SED
jicaji, Awesome!! Are you going to look locally in stores for area rug and throw pillows or shop online? If online look on Wayfair. Very cool and lots of options there. Oops! Maybe too many options. Lol  You'll know it though when you see it I think.

I got my 5'x8' area rug for under new dining table on Wayfair and matching runner for along inside of deck door.
Take a look on Wayfair. If you do let me know what you think.

LB, Okay. I'll try again. I'll make it shorter this time.

Your boss should have informed his boss about the virus in his home before he returned to work! Someone needs to tell him to stay the h*** home.

He should have worn his mask at his desk also. Has he been coughing or sneezing without a mask on? I sure hope not but still he shouldn't be there in my opinion.

It's very good that you are double vaxxed and boosted. It might not harm to test yourself in case your symptomatic while not knowing it.
In any case I/we hope you don't get it either! Like jicaji asked .. are you having any symptoms?

Keep up posted please LB.

jicaji, Interesting comment you made. Everything has energy  .. our bodies, everything living .. nature, animals, birds, trees, plants and on and on. Even inanimate objects emit an energy of sorts .. molecules, neurons etc. I find it all very interesting.

Equally wordy paulie But since you asked. . .

I'm always on Cheers and Beakers - Most just read and check posts. On from 5A-10P unless I have to leave the house.

Wayfair!  Great stuff.

Still to finish rabbit fencing.  Crop kinda fell off, slowed down, so lost ambition.

Cabinet carpenter - he did a fantastic job.  Showed a folio of his work.  Beautious!  Actually a master certified carpenter in Europe, new immigrant to US, think from Czech.  Had to sacrifice pocket door.  Widened the frame to fit the fridge (Took off fridge doors, and still scrunched wood).  With wider frame, if you close the pocket door you run out of door, empty space shows.  Just don't close all the way.

Lisa & E4E Not just ice maker - led to complete shut down of freezer and refrigerator.  Picture 30 bags of food, raised ranch, down stairs to SUV on driveway and/or garage, and down to extra fridge on lower level.  87 and 78 years each.  Then after massive clean job - Carry It All Back!  But it is done, fridge is working, and today will sit on my a and read the papers and watch the snow.

Repeat again - The easy fix up to remember if your fridge has an auto ice maker.  Look for red reset button.  Or if in the door, now digital, and the trick is to hold down two buttons at the same time for 3 seconds, no longer.  Buttons are labeled "Lock" and "Filter Reset".  Repair tech said this works for other problems if you have the outside panel.  Digital panel installed on newer models because of the hardship of getting to the newer controls board inside and at the back of newer tricky models.

Everyone have enough of my carrying on?  Sorry.  Bye Bye for now.

Hi Puff .. equally worded ... good one! lol

Okay to Cheers and Beak and I see you begin at 5AM that's to pain in the ash!

Agreed to Wayfair.

Okay to rabbit fencing. That's understandable. Something to look forward to in the spring.

Your master certified carpenter sounds excellent! He did a lot a detailed work widening the frame etc. Even with not closing the pocket door the all the way it sounds very nice. He did good!

Geez that was a lot of work carrying 30 bags of food the way you described it! And then back again. Whoa.
I'm guessing you are the 78 you mentioned and still going strong I say!
Good to read today you sat on your a, read the paper and watched the snow. Snow! Ugh Sounds like you're getting what's heading my way but in the form of a lot of ice.

I actually understood your auto ice maker instructions on the refrigerator!!

What? Don't apologize. I didn't see any carrying on.  ;D

Oh heck yeah we'd have fun shopping together or having a cup of coffee together. Except instead of a cup we'd have to put the full carafe on the table because I don't stop with one cup.  ;D

Hi LB, You too replying to a post and lost it!! That happened to me last night. The 'posting' gremlin'!!

Good news you tested negative and your follow-up this weekend if you can.

Thanks for explaining about your boss, living situation and CDC guidelines. You sure know them good. I find them confusing honestly.
I 'm not fond of the CDC for lowering the guideline protocols either. Until this mess is well under control I say let's continue to be more vigilant until this virus has been kicked in the ash. (I borrowed that one from Puff  :))

Okay kitchen reno update: Yesterday all the cabinets were installed. I don't remember if I told you last night.

Today one of the guys installed all the crown molding and trim throughout the kitchen while another guy hung all of the doors.
I'm so happy and excited because it looks great!

One of the guys counted the cabinet doors and drawers and came up with a total of 32. I hadn't counted or realized that. Yep I've got more storage room now! Yay!

Tomorrow the molding around the floor under cabinetry goes on then the painter is going to caulk, putty then prime.
Things are moving along at a faster pace now. Oh! And the new range was installed. Oh boy! And yep I used it this evening.  :)

Family news: Yesterday my youngest granddaughter Grace (7) came home from school telling my daughter she didn't feel good then proceeded to sit in my daughters lap and arms and instantly fell asleep. Not like her at all! Last evening she and my daughter's husband began to throw up. No fevers. Proceeded by chills and aches. Needless to say you know what my daughter and I were worried  about. Grace slept thru the night while her dad threw up all night while my daughter stayed up all night keeping a close eye on them both and helping him.
This morning Gracie threw up one last time then eventually was hungry. She drank pedialite and ate some chicken noodle soup then slept like a log. She woke up feeling better. My daughter's husband eventually felt better too. She and he both took rapid tests and were negative. Gracie was spared the test since she was feeling better.
This is one of my daughters who has SLE (Lupis). She did great helping them through the night and feeling good this afternoon. Then 'it' hit her. Aches, chills, throwing up violently as she described it and terrible dry heaves. She had not eaten since yesterday afternoon but still threw up for a few hours straight. About two hours ago it began to slow down then stop. Her husband kept me updated and the last I heard all three of them were resting and I hope now asleep. I've not prayed so long and so much for a long time. Prayers answered.

Sorry this is so long but ... you know me by now for sure.  ;)
jicaji I remembered while I was keying you told me don't make things short you enjoy reading so I just kept on going. I'll blame you. LOL

Night all. SED

Oh my gosh! I just came to my laptop to do something and the post below that I began this morning was still there! I got called away by one of the guys and got busy with an errand and forgot about finishing my post!  Well I'm just going to continue now  :)

Good Morning  :) (update now Good Afternoon)

Lots of sneezing off and on at my house even with reno guys. Raining here so no sawing the trim with equipment on the rear deck so doing it inside at one end of the reno area. Achoo!

Well sneezing was this morning. It's stopped now because those reno guys finished and the painter is here now to caulk, putty and prime.
Very nice Italian guy. I love his accent. He laughed at my comment it wasn't easy choosing a light gray. He agreed way too many. He said he asked someone how do they come up with so many colors and names. He was told there are actually people assigned to just coming up with new names for paint colors. That's their only job.

Supposed to get 1 to 2 inches rain tonight then all ice, sleet, freezing rain (all the same to me) in the wee early hours tomorrow morning making peoples commutes to work and wherever dangerous. I foresee school delays and/or closings or a virtual day as well as work places. I plan to stay put inside.

jicaji, Your state is noted on the news map to be in the ice area.
LB, The same for you too. Work from home tomorrow if you can.
Puff, Waving to you.

Came back. Remembered to update family. Grace went to school. Her dad feels better. My daughter was up all night throwing up. She's still achy and chills today. She's exhausted. She called off work yesterday to take care of others and called off today for herself. Good!
She needs lots of rest.

jicaji, How are your daugher, granddaughter and SIL doing now? All recovered I hope.
LB, How are you feeling today?

Yes all is well with my daughter and her family now.

LB...if it's icey when you leave in the am....call in and let them know it's too dangerous for you to drive.  Maybe go in later?

Yes, it's supposed to be icey here tomorrow am, but luckily we have no where we have to be.  The benefit of being retired...

LB, TGIF for you. Good that you're feeling okay. Hopefully your roads will be okay and treated I'm sure if they get slippery. Be careful.

jicaji, Good you're not going anywhere with ice slippery roads. Very true the benefit of being retired.

Thank you both for your kind comments about family feeling better.

Yesterday evening while my daughter was still feeling sick but slowly getting better her husband and Grace said they were hungry. Her husband still not feeling 100% yet so they went to my daughter. She ordered dinner and had it delivered and then she sent me this.
Most of us can relate to this. LOL

Brrrr and windy here. Supposed to warm to 50 tomorrow and sunny. Nice!

jicaji, Geez you had snow, ice and rain yesterday. A good day to stay inside. Have you chosen your new carpet yet?

You asked about reno. It has slowed a bit. All new cabinets installed as of last week and the painter started last week. Last Friday the guy scribed for new countertops and they'll be installed this Friday along with new sink and faucet so still no running water in kitchen. New dishwasher still waiting install. Sal the painter finishes trim work tomorrow. I love the new light gray on the walls with white trim. Recessed lighting waiting for some parts to arrive. This Friday the new exhaust for the microwave will be installed venting in roof. Things are supposed to move along more next week with recessed lights. I did get to lay down the new carpet pad and carpet for the dining end of the room. I really like the new flooring now that it all matches with the wall that divided kitchen and dining room is removed. The new trestle table delivery and assembly is tomorrow. The freight company said I can't delay delivery any more. lol But I tried! Luckily Sal finishes trim work at that end of room tomorrow before delivery time. There's two rows of recessed lights above table so the guy installing them will have to work from both sides of the table because it is wide and heavy. This is fourth week of reno now and I'm looking forward to completion for sure.

LB, That's rough having trouble sleeping once 4am hits.

I spent the majority of today doing lots of errands I've been putting off but got it all done including Valentine cards for my granddaughters and sweet treats too plus birthday card for one of my daughters and my neighbor lady. Other errands were tedious and long. I'm tired!

Wishing you both a pleasant evening. Stay inside cozy and warm.  :)

LB.  Sorry you're feeling down.  i KNOW how you feel, I'm sure we've all been there.  I was like that yesterday.  Sometimes  stress just builds and builds until you feel like you're going to burst, but then tomorrow comes and somehow it feels better.  Hope tomorrow is a better day for you.

Paulie...NOPE, no rug yet.  We looked in several rug/carpet stores and nothing.  I've seen a few on WayFair, but I'm a bit afraid to order something like this on line before I can see/feel it.  BTW,  I HATE this.

My brother inlaw is in the hospital.  He was getting out of the shower and fainted and took a bad fall.  My sister called the ambulance eventhough he didn't want her to.  Turns out he had a fractured neck, which was operated on last night.  Not sure how long he'll be in the hospital.  It was approx. a 5 hr. procedure. This just complicates many of his issues, one being a bad back which was operated on a couple of years ago.

Always something, always.  If not now, just around the corner ::)

LB, Awww I wish I could give you a hug. I don't know what is stressing you so very much but two more days till TGIF for you then I hope you can have a relaxing weekend all to yourself.

jicaji, I'm sorry about your brother-in-law. That sounds scary and terrible. It's good your sister didn't listen to him and call for an ambulance! I just said a prayer for him. Do they have any idea of why he fainted? Give us updates going forward.

Okay to no carpet yet. Maybe this will help. I ordered my carpet and matching runner on Wayfair. I looked around that website for a bit and kept going back to the once I chose. Reading peoples reviews might help you too. I'm very pleased with mine and it looks exactly like it was described and the photo.  I know you hate this. You'll find what you want locally or online eventually.

The temp here today really did go to 50 and was bright and sunny. There's another one or two days of 50s predicted then back to the 20s and teens. Brrrrr But no snow so yay!

Puff, Do you have that HM Gingerbread house you posted a video about?

Yes, Paulie, Long unbelievable chain of circumstances.  Met a lady at local HM and had a fascinating one hour +chat.  Found we had so much in common (love of Christmas, love Mickey and Disney, enjoy living life, look for fun.  At one point we decided to do what we came for - I had a couple more cards to get and she had returned to pick up the back order gingerbread house she ordered.  I had spotted the display right away and told myself no - I was successful in my self control until she pushed the activation button.  Trapped by the music and animation.  Trapped in a web I had managed to avoid - until she pushed the button.  But since she had to special order hers I decided I would rely on fate.  I'd think about giving a home to a lonely gingerbread house if they had any left on hand.  When I got to the checkout the clerk asked me if I was LaNora; I answered yes.   She said "Rita" had left something for me.  I hoped it was her contact info so we could meet again and enjoy each other's stories.  I'd given her my business card while talking.  She gave me only her name ----And she gave me a gingerbread house!!!!!  The clerk has promised not to give out any other info.  Just a note scribbled on a store sack -  "Enjoy your Christmas holiday.  So glad to share time with you, Rita."

I still hope to have her contact me or for these two HM groupies to run into each other again at the store.  Unbelievable experience.

Sorry for those who already heard my story.  But I still am amazed and overcome by the good feeling she also gave.  God is good.

LB....Hate getting my mammogram.  I'm two years overdue with that and a couple of other tests.  Hoping all is OK with your biopsy.  That is really stressful.

Paulie...The Dr. in the hospital is telling my brother in law he should go to a rehab center for at least 2 weeks+ for physical therapy directly from the hospital, to which so far he is refusing.  He just wants to go home.  We'll see.

One of the squirrels I feed was just looking into the window.

jicaji, Hmmmm I understand your being behind on some medical appointments. The year of lock down put us behind. I remember us talking about that here in the past. Same for me putting things off and I cancelled and rescheduled some a few times.  I got annoyed with myself so just recently I got my butt in gear and made appointments. Now it's your turn. Do it!

Thanks for update on your brother-in-law. Understandable he wants to go home but I hope he changes his mind and goes to rehab. Maybe with additional coaxing from his doctor and wife and family he will. Hope so.

Puff, I just now read your post/story! I don't know how I missed seeing it before now!

My heavens what an awesome, exciting and touching experience you had!!

But wait. I have a question. I've read your story twice but still not sure of the answer.
Did Rita give you the HM Gingerbread House that she had ordered for herself? Or was there another in the store she purchased for you? Or was it the display?

The two of you certainly bonded. I hope too that she'll contact you since you gave her your business card.
Wow. What a special lady she is. Since this happened concerning a Christmas decoration and with such awesome circumstances it makes me wonder if Rita was an angel?  :) I say she was angel either way. Fascinating encounter you had. Agreed. God is good.

Also you have a very pretty name .. LaNora.

Do you keep your Gingerbread House on display year round protected behind glass in a cabinet or do you display it only at Christmas?

Bear with me Cheerios - Answers for Paulie and LB posts. . .

HM had ordered extras when they sold out so fast, so they had extras on hand.  She had asked to buy one of the extras I was told.  An angel, definitely!  My Rita was my younger sister.  Lost her just before her 60th birthday.  She didn't do mammos.  Checked things out too late.  Now have lost all my immediate family (father, mother, 2 older brothers, Rita).  Except for mom (COPD/emphysema) they shyed away from doctors, didn't live smart IMHO, they all died from cancer; all very heavy smokers.  Doc told me the pheumonia cases I had was because my longs had been compromised living in the family.  I had, tested, faught, won now 8 years uterine cancer.  Caught it in its infacy and qualified for DiVinci procedure.  Now energies and prayers for Ton; he's keeping on top of 6 year bladder battle.  Amen and hallelujah.  So please I beg you all, not just LB and jicaji - we have the medicine, we have the facts, and we're more than blessed to have the options, Ladies and Men whatever you suspect - GET IT DONE!  Me, I'm #1 to me, I'm that important.

Answers to question - I bought a new pedestal to display HM gingerbread house.  It has gently and lovingly been put to rest until end of November.  But I do have celebration "stuff" for all special holiday/reasons.  Coming up:  Veterans Day, Paczki Day, St. Pat, Easter, etc., etc.  Glad I'm still able -- therefore, I do!  Inside the house, outside the house, did at work (school), even wardrobe.  When I retired some asked for souvenirs of my stuff, both staff and students.  I had the big kids - juniors and seniors; but they were all still kids at heart.  For classes I always had "seasonal" candy treats (if they were on time for class).  It's called bribery; it worked.

Once again I think I've overstayed my time.  Happy celebration for the house - lecture for the Cheerios - happy and hugs for you all.  And watch for your angel to appear for you.  And you know I have to sign off with "Let's enjoy!"

Good Morning LB, Good that you're going to follow-up with another call on Monday. Persistence wins.

Good news about your covid test.

Here's a bit of humor for you. I've seen SMH other places before but didn't look up the meaning. First thing that came to my mind was Slapping My Head. I was going to tell you to stop slapping your head! Lol Anyway today I did google the meaning. Okay. Shaking My Head. Sooo yes shake your head. No slapping allowed.  ;D

My area is maybe getting one inch snow tonight. How about you? Radar shows it passing over NJ too.

Good Morning Puff, Oh okay. Rita gave you one of the extras that had been ordered. Very kind and generous of her to do. She enjoyed doing that as much as you enjoyed receiving it I'm sure.

Oh! Your younger sister's name was Rita! And Rita in the HM store. Knowing this explains more to the joy and amazement you experienced at the HM Store. Very interesting indeed.

I'm sorry for your loss of Rita and other family members and their not concentrating on their health more. That had to be frustrating for you and the complications you had due to second hand smoke.

Congratulations on your win! I've heard of the DiVinci method.
Most definitely to prayers for your Ton going forward.
I think of him sometimes when I fill my Sky Cafe bird feeder because of the conversation we had last summer when I got mine and I posted here and you commented he's the one that fills yours. I'll say a prayer for Ton every time I fill my feeder now and that is daily.

I'm sure the pedestal you got for your Gingerbread House compliments it. Post a picture here next November of both.  :)
Your holiday celebrations sounds great.
Paczki Day! I calling it Fasching! I love Faschnauts! One of my grandmothers made faschnauts the day before Lent began. I remember sitting in her kitchen at her looong table watching while she went through the process of making them. Smelled so good cooking them and I ate as many of them as I could.  ;D My children grew up enjoying faschnauts too and we all still do.
When I lived in Germany my husband and I went to Fasching Festivals. Lots of fun for sure!

Interesting about your seasonal treats for your students. One of my sisters did the same for her students. She taught math at middle school then high school levels in the Chicago area.

No .. no way you overstayed your time here. I for one enjoy seeing you here and reading your always interesting posts and stories.
Now me? Yep I've been long winded this time so will stop now.  ;D

Thanks for the replay HM video. Beautiful and festive for sure.

Hugs back to you and I'll say, "Be Happy!"

The 3 past days have been in the 50s but turning colder now BUT I've been hearing robins! Haven't seen them but definitely hearing their pretty song and calls.  ;D I hope they don't leave with the colder weather again.
It's staying light outside longer now too. Yay. I'm ready for daylight savings time!

All the countertops were installed yesterday. Looks very nice. New sink and faucet in place now too but still no running water in kitchen. No one working here Monday but next week the electrical is to be completed and recessed lighting and lighting in some of the cabinets completed.
Oh and the plumbing too. Awesome. Will be sooo happy to be able to use the sink again.

An Ooops moment I almost had last week. My husband had made a dozen hard boiled eggs. After the water cooled, I ... without thinking and being in my old routine mind set ... picked up the pot with water and turned walking towards the sink when I remembered nope don't do that because there's no sink installed yet.  ::)

Contractor said the under cabinet lights and drawer and cabinet knobs haven't been delivered yet. Ordered months ago too. I hope they're not sitting in a shipping container somewhere.

Time for dinner. Ordering out ... again. Okay with me. Not much clean up afterwards.  ;D

My youngest granddaughter's (7 yrs) hockey team, Hershey Bears (PA), won their tournament today! She made her first goal and did great as goalie too. Geesh she whips around on the ice like a pro.

I had plans for tomorrow because contractor said no work here tomorrow but earlier today I got a text they will be here tomorrow to do backsplash. Good! Let's get this reno completed soon.

Hi  :) Geez Louise a busy week so far.

jicaji, I'll answer your kitchen reno colors first.  White cabinets, quartz countertops, Carrara marble herringbone backsplash, stainless steel appliances, brushed nickel pulls, oak floor.

You asked if finished yet. Nope but the reno guys double timed it today when I told them I had family coming here Saturday for one of my daughter's birthday. I told them I'm ordering deli, vegi, fruit trays so no biggie but they moved the refrigerator from the living room into place in the kitchen and installed dishwasher, got the plumbing for sink and disposal hooked up even after I told them we'll be using paper plates since everything is boxed up. Very nice of them.

There are four guys but the main contractor has them doing other jobs in addition to mine throughout their days. That has contributed to the length of time so far but today they made their 'executive decision' to put their focus here for this weekend. Very nice hard working guys.

Some recessed lighting was installed today. The cabinet/drawer pulls and under cabinet lighting is still delayed and hoping for mid-March arrival. They said the same delays for other reno jobs they are working on too.

LB, It sounds like you are definitely having a difficult week at work. Yep two more days!

Monday I had overdo bloodwork done for appointments scheduled this week. Got it done in the knick of time. lol
Rheumatologist concerned about the length of time I've been on Naproxen and kidney function. PCP concerned about blood sugar level.
I was told by both that all results are normal and within good range. I told them, Yep I told you I was okay and I walked out of my appointments with a big smile.  ;D

#2 with this kitchen reno.  My one Dr told me today he'd had a kitchen reno done years ago and would not live through that again. I can relate.  :) It's looking awesome so far and almost done.

Sleep well tonight and Stay safe. Don't let your guard down with CDC regulations being lifted.

Strange weather. Nice warm 62 today and sunny then clouds and had rain downpour. It's supposed to get very windy with the front passing through this evening and tonight with wind gusts from 45 to 55mph. Baton down the hatches.

LB, Have you received a call back yet to schedule your biopsy? You're in my thoughts and prayers for a good news outcome.

My husband and I had a pleasant afternoon. It's our 49th anniversary today so we went out to lunch.  :) Home now so let it rain and the winds blow. We're staying cozy inside.

Paulie....HAPPY ANNIVERSARY .  Glad you got to go out to lunch before the bad weather.  It's getting really really windy here.  It was a beautiful day here today.  Tonight and tomorrow rain and wind...... Your renovations sound absolutely stunning...

Beautiful surprise today.  We had two bluebirds on our deck today.  I've only seen them once before.  Love watching the birds.

LB...Yes, praying for a good outcome for you.  BTW, how's the new hire doing?

My Dr. reminded me that I have a few very overdue tests....blood test, mammo and colonoscopy....I guess I'll go for the blood test first .....soon ? :P

SED
Hi jicaji, Thank you about anniversary and reno. They guys couldn't come today because they got called to an emergency job. Perfect timing here so we had the day all to ourselves.

With your weather you and hubby stay inside cozy too.

Awesome about your Bluebirds today! Nature has spread the word that the nice lady who lives at your house feeds God's creatures.  :)
If you put mealworms out the Bluebirds will keeping coming especially with nasty weather in the forecast. That's how I got started. Give it a try with dried mealworms.

Do you see the part of your post that I highlighted? Yep go with the blood work first. Easy peasy  :P
Here's a tip I got from my PCP this week when he saw the large bruise on my arm from blood draw. It didn't hurt a bit so I was surprised by the bruise. He said he drinks three bottles of water before his bloodwork and being that hydrated prevents the bruising.

SED to you too.

Hi LB, Oh for heavens sake to your having to call to request a second fax. Yes hopefully tomorrow to scheduled appointment. Please let us know.

Good to hear about the new hires. It's easy to see why you prefer your current work schedule. Honestly I think it sounds nice home a week then in office a week.

Thank you about reno and anniversary.
You stay safe with your weather too. Be careful driving tomorrow.

Missed a lot of posts/conversations today.  OK to jump in late?

jicaji  Tests are a good thing.  Some people haven't even heard of tests we have much less have them available.  As I said yesterday -- Do It!

paulie  49 Years!!!!  Great going.  Congrats to the two of you.

Interesting suggestion about drink water with blood tests.  Never heard that before.  About 15 hours late; had blood drawn at 6:30 this a.m.  Will remember that in the future.  No bad bruising because I was fasting - all I had before was the approved liquid i.e. water.

LBLN  Some results from today are available to me already online.  Modern tech at work.  But the waiting for the mammo results always seem to be slow; maybe it just seems that way.

I wish there were answers for all the questions, maybe I just don't look to the right sources. . .
Found out once my younger sister, in her 50's, had never had a mammo or pap.  I actually did use the word stupid while talking to her.  Wasn't proper I know, but in this day and age I was shocked.  End of story you've already heard - she never made her 60th birthday.

Don't mean to sound like a preacher or pushy activist  (Maybe I am?) - Come on people!
We've got the knowledge, opportunity, miracles.  DO IT!

Puff....my sister has never had ANY tests and she's 68.  Now that's NUTS.  I just have to get my head right before I make appointments.  It's always scary for me cause I always think it's going to come back bad....BUT that's just me....I got part of the NUTS gene too I guess, but I do eventually get 'em :P.  Oh and yes, I've been told by a phlebotomist to drink water before blood test.  It makes it easier for them to find a good vein.

[/b]Paulie[/b], yes, I've heard that about mealworms for bluebirds.  Pretty soon my deck is going to look like an animal buffet :)

LB...Glad your new coworkers are nice.  Makes a big difference.

Lots of rain and wind all night, but the good news is no trees fell down and didn't lose power.

Have a good day guys.

jicaji  Yeah - knew about IV's and easy to find veins, but the lack of bruising is a new one - makes sense when you think about it.  Old but still learning.

1 from yesterday for sure....3 for today.

Hi LB, Paulie, Puff....Sure is windy here today.  Some snow squalls maybe later and tonight.  They said up to 60 possible during the week.  Go figure.

Going today to buy some meal worms for the blue birds that have been on my deck.  Can't wait to see if they continue to come.

Took out some old watercolor painting books yesterday.  I'll have to see if my paints are still usable, maybe I'll do a little painting later.  It's been awhile.

It's the little things LOL ;)

Enjoy the weekend everyone.

LBPainting is very soothing for me.  I can get lost in a painting for hours at a time.  I remember years and years ago I began working on a painting when my girls went to school and by the time they came home I was still painting.   I actually have a few hanging around here and there in the house.

Have a good week working from home.  Hope you can schedule your appt. this week.

Hi LB, I say as long as you're in good health otherwise you can get your weight back on track. I bet once the warmer weather gets here you'll get back into the routine of preparing the healthier meals and snacks again. I remember them and boy they sounded delicious.

Also geesh it's been a long cold winter being stuck inside plus all the stress you've had a work. I say those = weight gain. So don't beat yourself up. Many can relate to that.  ;)

Any word on the biopsy yet that will result in good news for you?

Hi jicaji, Same here weather wise. Let's enjoy the warmer days while we can for sure!

Awesome that you enjoy painting. We've got that in common too along with the Bluebirds.
Are the BB's eating the mealworms you got?

What mediums do you enjoy using? I use acrylics and oil.
Very cool that you were still painting when your girls returned home from school.

I began painting a large ocean scene years ago but life got busier and busier and I still haven't finished it. It's stored away waiting for me to have free time. No free time for a while now!

Very nice that you have some of your paintings hanging in your home! That's special.

LB, Whoa! I understand your not liking the new surgeon you saw yesterday. Excellent to you telling him, "I got this!"

You are 100% correct and you'll get your mind set back on track. Winter has had you cooped up and add stress onto that too.

Yes you told us about you needing a biopsy but not the date. Okay to April 1. The consult prior to procedure is probably standard routine so I hope you don't stress too much about it. To relieve your worrying about it you could call to ask why.

A sunny warm day here today and current temp 64. Nice! However, tonight temps drop to 28 then tomorrow snow, sleet, freezing rain. Crazy. Ugh.

I'm still putting things back into kitchen and trying to replace things where they were before but I lost some depth in the upper cabinets so doing some rearranging there. Good thing is I gained cabinets and a pantry so it's just deciding the best place to put things. I'm enjoying it though.
Everything still not done. One set upper cabinets over refrigerator, all of the pulls for cabinets and drawers and the under cabinet and inside cabinet lighting hasn't been delivered to contractor yet. Geez I chose the pulls (brushed nickel) last September. Contractor said he has other clients still waiting on their same pulls/hardware too.

I also understand the snacking and gaining weight....ME TOO...I graze all day it seems.

Your telling an orthopedist "See ya" made me laugh. Good for you. I had a similar experience with a surgeon many years ago. Boy did I dislike him! Didn't see him again either.

Thank you about my renovations.

Yep, snow and ice expected here later today.  I actually had a few windows opened yesterday.  Felt so good to have fresh air in the house.

Stay warm and safe .

Oh and Paulie, I bought mealworms for my blue birds.  Jim will make something to put them in.  Right now we just put a container on the deck table and in a planter....we'll see.  My entertainment for the afternoon.... ::)

Hi,

LB, Be careful driving into work tomorrow if you're working from office.
Have you seen Raggedy Ann lately?

#2

jicaji, Nice to your having some windows open yesterday. I had my deck door open. I agree felt good.

Awesome to you getting mealworms. A low sided container on the deck table will work good. Even putting some loose on the table works. You'll definitely be entertained.

You'll have other birds come to eat them too.

Others eating mine are .. House Sparrow, Carolina Wren, Northern Mockingbird (that surprised me when it was eating them)
Oh! Squirrels! Yep. And European Starlings (Grackles) that are a pain in the butt. I read they follow BB's around and for sure when the BB's are here usually the Grackles are too. The Grackles are hogs and will eat all the mealworms really fast.
That's when I got enclosed BB feeder boxes that I hang off a pole on the deck railing.

LB and jicaji, Temps definitely did a nose dive here too and ice expected here over night.
How much snow predicted in your areas?
You both stay cozy warm and safe.

LB  Glad you're working from home.  Much ice on top of a small layer of snow.  ..

Paulie..I took in the small container of mealworms last night before the weather came in.  Our bid feeders are really busy this morning, eventhough right now it a heavy wintry mix....to last until 1p.

Have to say....God help the Ukranians and those in neighboring countries and of course, the US.

Keep safe guys.

Oh and Paulie.....after I wrote the above, I put out the small container this morning and about no less than 20+ Grackles flew up on the deck table and ate all the mealworms in a NY minute LOL.

Okay to no Raggedy Ann maybe, but 10 squirrels come to eat. Nice!

jicaji, Nice that your birdfeeders were busy during the storm. They definitely depend on the seed.

Wow! 20+ Grackles! See? They're hogs. Annoying birds. Well if they were there your Bluebirds were nearby I bet. Darned Grackles!

Agree to prayers for the Ukrainians. God bless them and yes the U.S. and world.

Good Morning Thank Jacaji.  I guess it's relaxing.   LOL  I went to my fathers yesterday I am trying to figure out my food for the week lunch dinner etc.  Trying to get creative tired of the same thing all the time  I go to work in office next week. They lifter the mask mandate in office not sure what I will do. to many people in office lately  still open still didnt fix the issues I brought up 2 years ago , I still have a lot of masks so I might as well use them .
Title: Re: Cheers 2022
Post by: paulie on February 27, 2022, 10:39:58 AM
Good Morning,

jicaji, Yep! Squirrels eat mealworms. They tried getting into mine a few times then stopped. I sure was surprised when I saw that.

Good about Jim building a specific feeder for the Bluebirds will deter them. The entry opening for Bluebirds feeders and nest boxes is 1 1/2 inches. It keeps larger birds from entering it but Grackles still stick their heads in mine to grab mealworms so when I fill the feeder I tilt the feeder box backwards keeping the mealworms to the rear away from the opening. Grackles still try though!!

LB, I think any weekend for you away from work is a good one.  :)
I heard on the news about the CDC lifting the mask mandate for some businesses and areas. I see no harm in you continuing to wear a mask. This crud virus and variants are still around. My husband and I are still wearing our masks when we go places. Besides anyone who is vaccinated and boosted has the vaccine waning depending on when it was received. I say better safe than sorry still for a while. That's just my opinion though.

Puff, Caring thoughts and prayers continue. (((Puff)))

LB  Glad your consult went well.  Should at least give you some peace of mind until  April 1st.

Is that picture of your squirrel ?

I saw my little chipmunk yesterday.  She just made an appearance near the bird feeder up on the deck....then went back into where she was hybernating....I think I'll leave her some strawberries.

I made some buttermilk waffles in my old waffle iron this morning.  I had forgotten all about it.  They came out so good.  Just what I need, more carbs....NOT.

Have a good day.

Your squirrel is so sweet.   One of the squirrels here always looks in the windowed door.  Drives Rizzo nuts.

Good Afternoon,

LB, Yes TGIF for you yesterday. I hope you're have a relaxing weekend.

jicaji, You have a nice weekend too

I've been really busy the past couple of days. Had a sleepover Friday night with one granddaughter and two older granddaughters here yesterday. Took them home at 11pm. They had a fun weekend. Yesterday some family were here too. I'm helping a family member with some things while still keeping up with my daily things so yep been busy.

It's 71 here. Nice! Windy but that's okay I like the temp.

3 from yesterday....2 today

Paulie Hey,nice to "see" you....Do you ever have a day where you're not busy LOL????  My bluebirds are coming to the regular feeder.  We started putting the mealworms into the suet in the feeder.  We'll see if it works until we make something better.

My little chipmunk is coming out more and more.  Threw out some strawberries for her yesterday.  Of course, the squirrel got some as well.

LB...Hope you have a good week.

Tomorrow I have to get a new phone...Hopefully it'll work easily.

SED guys.

Hi jicaji, Nice to "see" you too.  ;D Honestly to answer your question about being busy ... I had more time to myself before I retired and I mean that. What the heck. It's true.

Awesome about your bluebirds! Explain what you mean about regular feeder and suet? That sounds interesting.

Yay to your chipmunk. Spring is getting closer. Funny about the squirrel getting some strawberries too! Natures creatures are going to keep you busy for sure.

I meant to tell you and LB about about a week ago, maybe two, McGregor my resident ground hog came out and has been at my bird feeding area. Spring has sprung!

Good luck with your new phone tomorrow. You know what that reminded me of? Geez has it been 3 maybe 4 years ago we both posted that we got our first smart phones and were trying to figure them out. LOL Maybe it's been longer than that.

SED to you too.

LB, Hoping you have a good work week ahead. Do you go in every day day now? No more alternating weeks? I forget.  ::)

Good Morning busy busy bus Paulie!!! Is your reno complete? Still alternating weeks I am home this wek . Well my sht wore off and real fast.  MY knees are killing me I am considering going back to the cane  it happened so fast I forget when I got  the shot  I think Novemeber???? LB my shots didn't work at all, the last one being in December . Supposedly both shots I received were "supposed" or I should say "could"  last up to six months, possibly a year.  Looks like I'm facing the knee replacement.  AND, now, my right knee is starting to bother me as well.

Paulie I thought it was longer than that when i got this phone.  Can't remember, but that's par for the course LOL.
.
Have a good week.

Good Morning  :)

LB, Yep busy busy and soon spring clean up outside. Lol Kitchen 98% done and I'm really loving it. Contractor called last week and the hardward/pulls for the cabinets and drawers and the electrical lighting for under and inside some cabinets have now been received so this or next week will be installed. The two cabinets above refrigerator should be delivered next week too. Almost finished!

I'm glad you're still alternating weeks at work. Sounds nice to me actually. I know Copper likes having you home.

I'm sorry to hear about your knees! They must really hurt for you to use your cane again.

jicaji, You too with the knee shot not working!! I wonder if they ever help people. Some I guess? Scary about considering knee replacement. Maybe your other knee is hurting because you're putting more pressure on it trying to alleviate pain in other knee. Frustrating for sure!!

It probably was longer since you got your phone. Time flies, right!
You have me laughing about remembering. I'm in that boat with you. Lol

Another warm day here in the low 70s but later this afternoon that nasty front is to move through my area with very high winds and storm. Colder tomorrow then light snow Wednesday morning. Crazy weather.

2 for me.....My mother used to tell me that.

LB, I try to use a cane when I know I'll be walking distances, especially when shopping, and walking around a parking lot trying to remember where I parked LOL, but I have a hard time gettig used to it.  As far as the shots, my friend in Georgia got one of the shots and it did last her almost a year.  However, she has since had the knee replacement.

Puff...Good to "see" you.  Hope you're doing as well as can be expected.  I think of you often.

Well, got my new phone and it's taking its toll on me.  Difficult for my old brain to get used to it, however I got texting and phone calls and shopping list down pat, so that's the main things.  Accessing some other stuff not so much yet.

Off to food shopping today.

Have a good one everyone.

LB, Very goo beginning to exercise again. Yes it's a start and a good one!
I was going to mention weather swings to you last weekend. Very possible.

Puff, Very good to see you. You are in my thoughts often also.

jicaji, Sounds like you've got the basics and like you said most important things mastered with your new phone.

LB..Glad you're getting a raise and a bonus.  I'm sure that will help a bit.  I know what you mean about prices.  I'm up about 40 dollars a week + when I go food shopping, not to mention gas.  Just awful.   Hopefully your rent won't be a big increase.

Hi jicaji, Sorry about Rizzo's heart murmur. Did vet give a reason like perhaps his age for it getting a bit worse? Can medication help?
When I had dogs I didn't encounter that so don't know much about it.

Good Morning,

LB, Geez to 4am Copper. Good you got to sleep a bit after that. Maybe after your walk with him you can have a more relaxing cup of coffee. Hope so.

I don't miss watching the puppy I had been caring for for about a week and going out to potty first thing in morning and throughout the day then night before bed. Been there done that with many of my dogs in the past. If I had an enclosed yard I'm sure I'd feel different.

Hi jicaji

Woke up to 50 degrees and going to 70s again today. Got to 75 yesterday. This afternoon my area is in a watch box for strong storms and possible tornadic activity late afternoon. I hope not.
In the meantime I'm heading outside again for more clean up and just sitting any enjoying.   :)
