The Red Wing Grain falcons are nesting on top of the Red Wing Grain stackhouse in Red Wing, Minnesota, next to the Mississippi River. Feel free to talk about them! We especially appreciate band IDs (band colors are fine if that is all you can get), egg laying times and dates, hatch times and dates, prey observations, and screen caps. If the cam is available, you can watch the falcons on this page: https://www.raptorresource.org/birdcams/additional-falcon-cams/ (https://www.raptorresource.org/birdcams/additional-falcon-cams/).

Apparently the cam isn't on yet....

It's on and we have a pair. Let me know on these pictures. I think I did this once before and hadn't shared the album. I'm trying again. Nice cam!!!!!

All good now with the photos, Nora - thanks!
-
Thanks. I think one other year I was having trouble and Amy asked if the album I was using for the image codes had been shared. That did the trick again. I forgot a started a new one.

O how nice to have Alma hatch here - especially since Alma and Genoa boxes are gone! :)

Here we go, this one worked today. Go to this page and scroll down for the live cam. But, I rewound all the way to when it was dark out this morning and as of 5 PM haven't seen anyone at home.

I believe it was the female that spent a lot of time sitting in the sun earlier and putzing inside the box. Don't see anyone now though.
Late morning, probably sometime between 11 AM and noon, they were both in there for a short time....

The female was putzing in the nest box a little after 10 AM and picking gravel. About 1010 Mac brought her a midmorning snack and she took it and dove between the nest box and perch and left.

About 11:20 our lady came back and sat a few minutes in the sun and wind before putzing a little inside and then settling up on the bricks at the near end to preen.

Incredible how they go from all nesting together at night to soaring on their own. Best of luck to those four fine, fully-fledged falcons. Hope to see them again sometime in the future.
