Welcome to the 2025 Mississippi Flyway! We know the camera is down and hope to get out there in January to troubleshoot and fix the problem. Thank you for your patience - that spot is hard to get to for being just ten miles or so upstream from La Crosse!

Looks like the Flyway cam is back live. See link at the chat room for video of the airboat and intrepid workers at the solar power arrray and more.

Lots of open water at the Flyway now, and ducks are starting to migrate through. Lots of food available for the eagles, and they are all over the area this morning. Here's just one pic.

Nice morning view this April morning............

The perching log had a group of 7 sub-adult eagles hanging around about noon.
-
A very cool picture comparison.

Flyway critters are active this morning. Geese, turtles, muskrat. Thanks for the great closeup views, cam ops!
-
Great blue heron in some close up views this morning about 8:00.
-
Cold and wet at the Flyway this morning. Two sub-adult BEs spent some time perching on the big, dead fallen tree.
-
It's a good day for foraging and preening around the posing log.
-
Gathering of great egrets at the posing log this afternoon.

Good pics of the Mallard, Clarinda! Apparently the adults molt while the chicks are still dependent on them for food and protection. Love those bright orange legs and feet.
A sub-adult BE and a great egret used the same perch for preening this morning. Not at the same time!

Overcast morning, 61 degrees

June 6, 2025, Friday, PM -- White Pelicans
Preening, fishing in shallows. Some have a horn on upper mandible near the tip of bill, which appears during breeding season.
