Welcome to the 2025 US Bank La Crosse falcons thread! Watch live here: https://www.raptorresource.org/birdcams/additional-falcon-cams/ (https://www.raptorresource.org/birdcams/additional-falcon-cams/) and please share your observations and screenshots in this thread! We are especially interested in band numbers, egg-laying dates, and hatch dates.
Amy
I'll start: RosieannB identified falcon 30/AC. Greg Septon banded Birdie Blair (love the name!) at the WEPCO Oak Creek Power Plant in Milwaukee, WI in 2024. Birdie is about 184 miles NW of her natal nest.

Just saw these 2 in the nest.
18/U & 90/Z
-
So - we have a pair here - and a pair at High Bridge.
Falcons are returning.
18U leg band is Zazu
-
Nice! We've seen some of these falcons before and others are from the region. Zazu's natal nest is maybe 20 miles upstream? Some year I'll spend a couple of winter days in La Crosse looking for falcons.
Amy
-
Julie 90/Z was in the box for over an hour.
-
Rosieann, thanks! I'd be in the nestbox too - they are hardy birds but it is pretty cold out there!
Amy
-
06/D is in his home sweet home.
Amy, I would have been in there too :D
-
Activity in the box today. 06/D and 90/Z.
-
I love the caps! Thanks, Rosieann!
-
Amy, thank you for the very nice camera.
Another intersting visitor this morning. Young one with an "upside down" u on the band, U/09. Picture zoomed.
Last season at GSB, a young one with an "upside down" u on the band visited there, I can't remember the number...

Her name is Elaine, if I remember correctly!!
-
Yes, thank you Amy for the great camera!
And thank you Rosieann, I've been trying to figure out the id today. I figured the U was upside down, but didn't think about the number being upside down also. I believe Ardy was with her today also.
-
Lisa, thanks for the name
klhfarrow, yes Ardy 06/D was in the box when she was there
A falcons smorgasbord showed up 😁
-
That's very funny! Maybe the starlings were attracted by prey prey remains/corn in the box? I'm going to need to do some reading!
-
U/09 on a morning visit.
If the videostreams here and on GSB have the same time, U/09 was seen on the box cam at GSB about 40 minutes later.
-
WHOSE COURTING WHO? :D
Elaine seen here and GSB - both have males.
GSB has no female
NOTE
I am confused about Ardy 06/D.
Hatched 2015 Horizon, Lake City MN
Has he been here before 2025?
Tucker posted his stats

Rosianne, GSB and US Bank are both on central time. They are about five miles apart as the falcon flies.
Amy
-
That explains how she can be on both sites almost at the same time, thanks Amy.

March 9, 2025
There's CORN scattered among the pebbles! ???
noon - Elaine U09 is at LaCrosse.
-
Someone was eating pigeon!
-
Who is the one for Elaine U/09, Ardy or Newman? Monday, she was here and at GSB many times.
-
She's the Falcon Bachelorette!
Amy
-
Funny camera angle.
Our Falcon Bachelorette U/09 looks like a giant and then there is the tiny 06/D 😀
-
MY MUSINGS
It looks to me as if Elaine prefers Lacrosse.
It appeared Newman has rejected her.
Newman may sense another male on her, however males detect things - and they DO detect things!
At age 2, she may not be that interested in eggs.
We can call her flighty - as she flies between here n there. ;D
Of course - all is speculation - birds are flippin unpredictable!
-
So far a busy Thursday in the box. Elaine brought in a bird, Ardy came by and bowed then Elaine flew off with the bird. They both been in the box, together and one by one and Elaine even did some digging.
It is so cool to follow Elaine both here and at GSB, thank you RRP and Amy for both live streams.
-
Rosieann, thanks for the awesome caps!

Elaine & Ardy
She appears confused
I wish there was sound here!
Elaine is sitting in her scrape, chirping.
Does she have an egg coming?

Last night while fixing dinner one of the falcons was VERY loud, flying low and right near my balcony. Almost seemed like they were diving at something but I could not see what. It went on for about 10 minutes, then all was quiet again.
I am so glad to see both in the nest this morning.
-
Oh wow! Thanks for the report!
Amy
-
Looks who was checking out the nest until Ardy made them leave.
-
Congratulations Elaine and Ardy on the first egg! Laid approx 3.20 pm.
-
:)YEAH!!!
-
:D EGG!
March 26, 2025
I saw her sitting in scrape about 2.30 pm, then still at 3,
then laying down there and I thot - egg by dawn - yep - thar tis!
Unless its infertil, she was mating with someone. LOL!
-
March 27, 2025
7.30 am I have not seen her turn or warm the egg.
She was chirpin for brekky before dawn, Ardy didnt provide, so she flew over to GSB with Newman.
7.15 Ardy got a bird for her, chriped n chirped, no Elaine. She flew in grab prey and flew away.
Egg alone
Unknown if Ardy will tend egg if its Newman's egg
7.45 Elaine flew in and both were there.
She looked at the egg, seemed confused.
-
What I'm wondering is what happened to Karen Karen 44/P? If she just didn't come back or she and Elaine got into it? Elaine chased one off from GSB.
-
Hi Nora!
I hope all is well with you.
Did you watch last year?
Did Ardy help incubate - and help feed young?
I dont know anything about the 2024 female
I know Ardy was awful eggcited to see an egg
-
Friday, March 28, 2025
6 am Elaine at LaCrosse.
6.25 am I dont see Elaine at LaX -
she was squakin - did she fly to GSB for brekky?
⚡ both GSB cams on hilights - rain.
6.45 she's at LaX again clucking for brekky.
I'd say she clearly feels a pull toward her egg.
6.50 Ardy brings a bird, Elaine reachs for it, but when Ardy brings it inside box - SHE FLIES AWAY! He follows her. oi vey!
Well now she's back - alone.
I wish we had another cam at LaX - showing the outer perchs.
-
March 29, 2025
Elaine laid egg 2 - at GSB
Egg 1 is here at LaX.
She was in the GSB box at 4 am this morning.
2.30 pm She has not returned to LaX all day.
Ardy is tending the egg.
I doubt either egg is viable.
-
Unbanded female says hello to Ardy.
Guess I have to take back the congratulation for the egg.
-
Unbanded female says hello to Ardy.
THIS IS GOOD NEWS!
I doubt Elaine will return - Ardy may have a mate!
-
So happy for Ardy! There are 2 falcons flying and chatting around the US Bank building!
-
March 31, 2025
Ardys unbanded gf returned just before dawn.
They did the falcon dance.
The LAST day of March
Tomorrow is April Fools Day.
Somehow that is SOOOO appropriate this year!
SNOW at GSB!
Ardy has a new gf - wonderful -
but another 2 year old.
Will she give him eggs, young?
At least he has a companion.
Elaine laid her 3rd egg at GSB
So now GSB has 2 eggs.
confused? ... get in line! ;D

2 pm I saw Ardy and Lady Lax mating on the perch!
I was surprised!
-
Great! I like that name too 'Lady Lax'.
-
:D Apr 4, 2025
6 am Lady Lax arrived to meet Ardy, but fell between outer perch and nestbox.
She cam right back for their 'dance'
I will be watching for her to lay an egg.
-
5:24 pm Lady Lax and Ardy mating on the perch again!
-
WASSUP?
Apr 7, 2025
7 am I dunno whats goin on.
There was a tussel between 2 birds inside box - not a fight . . . exactly.
I dunno if there is another female or what.
>:( IT WAS ELAINE!
Back to LaX to visit her egg! WHY!?
Terka on bcaw got the band, it was Elaine tusseling with Lady Lax.

He's trying. He does get her in the nest box and bows a lot, but it's like she has no idea. Maybe needs another year on her like Elaine did last year?
(https://uniim1.shutterfly.com/render/00-mqUU_s2Ncmc9QbtMyD0s6vI_3wc4UmetzoWj2-sEqyCTJ7IH7o8YSxu0ElbiawZvrnHjCyIZu59oV2we_kMG9A?cn=THISLIFE&res=large&ts=1744492132)
He left for a while, but she stayed there.

Yeah Im thinking - THEY ARE MATING!
They mate on box perchs.
But I am wondering if she'll give him an egg.
-
I wonder if she's old enough or needs another year like Elaine did??
-
Elaine is 2 - I think Lady Lax is also 2.
Elaine hatched 2023
-
"I think Lady Lax is also 2" We'll see what happens :)
-
Around 9 AM Ardy was calling and she flew in!!

There were several rounds of bowing and her going to the lip of the nest box before he left..........

They've mated on the perches often.
Be nice if poor Ardy got an egg.
