T40, thanks for posting that news article. It has some great background info about this nest and the history of these eagles.
Lest anyone come into this thread and see the last few posts with a pic of hatchlings without reading the earlier posts or already knowing the current status at this nest this year... I think it might be helpful to avoid confusion by saying there are no hatches yet at this nest this year, and there are only 2 eggs laid.
The news article posted by T40 above has a lot of info about this nest and these eagles, and the egg-laying info for this year, and also says:
"The pair is protecting two eggs, Wagner said. The first egg was laid Feb. 18 at 4:15 p.m. The second was laid on Feb. 21 at 5:35 p.m. Both eggs are expected to hatch towards the end of March, approximately 35 days after each was laid, she said."

Believe pip watch starts today on this nest for the first egg.

The DF's pair welcomed their 1st fuzzball around 5 pm EDT on 3/26/16.
https://dukefarms.wordpress.com/2016/03/27/rcbald-eagle-update-sunday-march-27/
A pip in the second egg was clearly visible at a feeding of the 1st eaglet this morning (10:10 am EDT 3/27/16).

It's so great to see Bald Eagles proliferating in the wild in my home state once again. :D :D
Edit to add: I guess some of these blog post links aren't permanent, my bad.
Go to the "Behind the Stone Walls" blog home page here: https://dukefarms.wordpress.com/ and check the Recent Entries on the right side for the latest news on the Duke Farms BE nest.

CONGRATS ON BOTH HATCHES HERE! :-* :-*

Baz, I fear my previous post was very confusing. ???
So, for the sake of clarity, these are the dates (& approximate times) I have for the Duke Farms nest ...
2016 Duke Farms brood - all times ET.
Egg #1 laid on 2/18/16 @ afternoon
Egg #2 laid on 2/21/16 @ 4:35 pm
_____________________________________________
1st egg hatched 3/26/16 @ 5:00 pm (37 days)*
2nd egg hatched 3/28/16 @ 8:41 am (36 days)*
* (Laid -to- Hatch)
-
BL, I didn't think it was confusing. :) Links may come and links may go, but you had shared the most pertinent info in your text. But it's nice to see your updated post with the "laid-to-hatch" info, too. Thanks! Nice to know, and see, more Bald Eagles nesting in NJ. :)

Read at eagleholic.com that banding of both 5 week old eaglets on Duke Farms nest is scheduled to be livestreamed on Ustream at 0930 EDT on Monday May 9th.
-
These 2 eaglets are scheduled to be banded Live on Ustream at 0930 tomorrow, Monday 5/9/16.
-
Banding now Live on Ustream
-
Successfully banded 2 female Eaglets, numbers 17 and 18 banded from this nest since 2007 and returned to the nest.
Green Bands numbers 41 and 42
Live sound feed sucked, breaking up, but the recorded feed is good and available now on Ustream
-
An amusing incident happened after the return of the now banded first eaglet to the nest and the tree climber John was preparing to gather up the second eaglet to send down for banding....the second eaglet started to do the familiar to nest watchers head stand prior to letting loose a PS. The eaglet was facing toward John, so he was in no danger, but the colossal crap went over the side and out of camera range to rain over whomever was below the nest, which was a crowd of humans awaiting the lowering of the second eaglet for banding.
I was alert for a catastrophe but Apparently nobirdy got hit, or at least nobirdy admitted it on the ground, and I got a chuckle out of it.

The longest, most legendary bonking battle ever seen (by me, anyway) happened at this nest 4 years ago. It has to be seen to be believed. As egg #3 was pipping and the poor chick inside must have been wondering what he was about to walk into, all-out war broke out between the first two chicks. These two hatched out of sight under mom at nearly the same time, making age irrelevant in establishing the pecking order. It took them awhile to work things out.

I have to say Pip & I are just pleased as punch.
We're loving this upwards Blue curve.
I've traipsed all over just about every nook & cranny of outdoor NJ from the time I was knee high up to the present, never saw any Bald Eagles in my home state when I was younger. :(
Now it's great to see these majestic birds on a pretty regular basis in our home Garden State when we dayhike. :) ;D

The nest location at Duke Farms was very near the bulls eye of snowfall from the Nor'easter. 30 inches +/- 2".
A stout swaying Sycamore tree on the banks of the Raritan River (https://goo.gl/maps/eBoG7xHggfAyKVY37).
Hmm, I wonder why there are BE's here ?
I Have fished very near this nest location tree. As in I know exactly where it is.
You ain't getting anywhere near it unless you're a very rare serious wading Raritan angler.
