Thanks jpalm!  Think I have to look up American Avocets.  Kind of curious what a hatchling's beak looks like in comparison to the adult.

Empty shell is the only pic so far! :D

Audubon - WesternTanger.  41 piece Tetris.  5:52.  JP, that bird is breathtaking!  I have never seen a Western Tanager.

Audubon -White-breaasted Nuthatch.  51 piece Crazy.  6:05.  I love watching Nuthatches!  :)

Audubon - Wood Ducks.  67 piece Classic. 7:19.  I remember the first time I saw a Wood Duck.  I was awed.  But I've never seen one of their ducklings.  How sweet is that photo!  :) :-*

Audubon - Belted Kingfisher.  50 piece Circles.  5:08.  One of my favs!  I regularly watch Belted Kingfishers swoop and fish over the pond next door to my home.  They have the most distinctive and wonderful rattle.  Persistent!  :)

JP, thank you so much for posting such wonderful puzzles here!  :)

Audubon - Boat-taiied Grackle.  87 piece Crazy. 10:22.  Lovew it!  I don't see Boat-tailed Grackles often.  The other Grackles must be jealous of them!  LOL.  Thanks, JP!  :D

Audubon - Burrowing Owl.  40 piece Birds.  6:33.  They look so sweet!  I would love to see a Burrowing Owl!

Audubon - Green Jay.  87 piece Crazy. 10:58.  Now that is a breathtaking sight!

Audubon -Hooded Merganer.  50 piece Tri-clip. 9:10.  I love these little guys!   :-* :-*  So handsome!  They come in pairs to my pond every spring, but they are only passing through.  I love watching them - they stay for a couple of weeks or so and then move on.  Don't get caught trying to flirt with this guy's girlfriend either - he will let you know what's what!   ;) :D :-* :-*

Audubon - American Avocet.  48 piece Euros.  7:48.  They are so pretty!

THANK YOU JP!!  YOU ROCK!!!

eburg, you sent me on a quest.  LOL.  This link - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_avocet - has this image:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_avocet#/media/File:American_Avocet_and_Chicks.jpg - American Avocet and chicks
and this image:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_avocet#/media/File:Recurvirostra_americana_-Palo_Alto_Baylands_-chick-8b.jpg of adult American Avocet with chick

And this link has other chick/baby American Avocet pics - sorry it's such a long link - yikes:
https://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C1AOHY_enUS708US708&tbm=isch&q=american+avocet&chips=q:american+avocet,g_1:baby:llVbBCfX3mo%3D&usg=AI4_-kRUerowprcC98jPjBe0oVRwhCIouQ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwi2levOt6TjAhWGY98KHdqgBgcQ4lYILCgC&biw=1440&bih=785&dpr=1

Those are some cuties!  :) :-*  Maybe a few of those pics at that last link look like chicks not long from hatchling status.
