Ky and Di
March 6, 2021
Diana with presumably her 2020 banded mate
If the male has no name I'll call him Ky - easy to remember.
Both spend time inside, both separately and together
They may be defending against a 3rd falcon
2 pm  the cute little male has done a lot of guard duty

RECAP of 2020
2020 was a sad year in Birdom
NONE of the 4 eggs hatched
Mar 18, 2020 cam went LIVE with 4 eggs
She could lay anytime

If my notes are incorrect, please let me know. Thanks.

LIFE BURSTS OUT!
April 17, 2022  EASTER SONday

7.30 am I see a piece of shell
Then I see another piece of shell
8.11 am  I saw the new chick - on its back - BRIEFLY

9.20 she tried to feed it but left with the prey he brot.

bcaw bev wrote
She is not acting like an experienced female.

Thats my reaction too. Not an experienced mom.
This is DEFINITELY her first brood.
AFTER she flew out with prey, the chick tried to sit up.  :)

 2022 falcon cam season!
The chicks were recently banded. Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife Resources (KDFWR) attach a leg band to each chick with a unique color, letters, and number combination. This identifying information is then entered into a database along with each bird's gender, date of hatching and nesting place. This database is available for all departments of fish and wildlife in North America as a way to track and identify the falcons.
