Shep, Great to see 4 peregrine eggs at a new nest!
The Spartan Stadium location is at Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI. My college career began there a very long time ago. Just so you know, we call it Michigan State, to distinguish clearly from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. :)
-
Then this is YOUR falcon pair ;D

Hatch

2 Hatchlings

This is a very sweet pair - reminds me of King plant Xcel who fed each other.
They appear new parents. A pleasure to watch

May 8, 2022 Mothers Day ;)
Here and a couple other cams, it appears the male says very close, perhaps guarding, as eggs are hatching out. This male is VERY attentive. bcaw also thinks its a new pair, but nicely bonded.

BANDED
May 31, 2022
They appear to be banded
top black
bottom blue
Dont know when tho
-
Spartan Stadium, Lansing MI
1 boy
2 girls
Banded on May 31. One male black over blue C/83 and
2 females with P over 3-something. (Could be 33 and 34 or 31 ans 32)
Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) along with Michigan State University banded the 3 baby Peregrine falcons on top of Spartan Stadium.
The bracelets will help track the falcons as they grow up and the data will be used for research into the species.
mom and dad weren’t too happy about it all, but can now rest easy. The two females and one male were placed back into their nest shortly after being banded.

Awesome to see the peregrine chicks banded on May 31 at MSU Spartan Stadium nest box. Pics captured from the News video. Thanks for posting the notice, Shep!
Is there a live cam for the MSU location? Link?
-
bcaw posted the info
I brot it over here
this is the LIVE cam

June 9, 2022
7.30 am I saw one of the juvies perched on the box
While box perch may not be branching,
it is a step in their development
-
Yep, Shep, a big step! Looks like any branches are a pretty long way from the nest box.
-
2 UP
June 9, 2022
2 juvies up on box edge
Yesteday one was close to peeking around the side
These 2 are one male and one female - she is so much larger
8 am Sparky jumped out to the corner of the outer perch - and eyes the roof!
Mom comes with brekky and he goes inside
-
ROOFING
June 12, 2022
All 3 juvies up on box edge, one is way out on cornerl, flappin up a hurricane!
Yesterday he was flappin on BOTH corners of outer perch
VERY set for roofing
7 am He LEFT the box entirely for a rail the box sits on - and flaps some more.
You can SEE this rail cam RIGHT, not so much cam left. He is on LEFT.
Easy access back to box from here - dunno how easy from roof up again
He's DOWN on the roof - intentionally launched
Now I saw him run into cam view - then fly offcam. hahaha
He ran under the box once - just to tease his siblilngs
5 pm he flew back up to the box
THIS is the exceiting stage, even more than fledging
Someone PLEASE get a pic - I cant anymore with this lapppy
bcaw puts this in MI with other cams

Hey Shep, here are pics of the first fledgling at MSU, leaving early morning and returning to the box at about 4 PM.
-
Thanks! The cam didnt follow him on the roof,
but he appeared once in awhile.
Wonder if he'll go back down today
-
BOX ROOF
June 13, 2022
Yesterday Sparky fledged to the roof - DOWNstairs
Dawn today he flew UP to the nestbox roof
This guy is the most eager fledgling I've ever seen
6.15 am I think Sparky flew up on top of cam off nestbox roof
He was on roof cam right
6.30 am Sprite, the 2nd juvie fell thru between box and outer perch, landed on roof. Looks OK. She was cam RIGHT on side perch and tried to turn aroud, fell thru. She is farther down the roof cam right.
#3 is perched watching the show
Later Sparky flew back up to roof of nestbox, then went down and into box
-
Shep, are the clever names you used for the MSU falcons official ones, or just yours? I'd like to see one of them called Sparty, for the MSU mascot. I'll have to check the rewind for the action you described. Meanwhile, a couple of sunrise pics.
-
June 13
6 pm Sparky flies home to the box and the remaining juvie
Havent seen Sprite again
O good, you got Sparky / Sparty on the box roof :D
Hope the 2 roofers are together in some shadey spot
I pick names cuz I dont like #1 #2 and #3
names are more fun
-
chicks names and their bands:
Stella P33, Farah P31, Gus C83
1 boy
2 girls
So presumably Gus'd be the boy I call Sparky
I'll call the one who hasnt fledged yet - Stella
I like my names better
and I cant see bands so I dont know who is who
-
June 14, 2022
Only Stella in the box overnite.
No sign of Sprite so far
Sparky ( Gus ) is all over the place, up down all around
5.30 am both Sparky and Stella watching cam left, screaming
Good bet a parent is feeding Sprite offcam
-
Shep, one of the fledglings visited the un-fledgling at daybreak. The "un" is wingercizing like crazy, so won't be long.
My view using YouTube doesn't have sound, so I'm relying on the visuals to tell if they are screaming! Parents may stop bringing food to the box to encourage fledging, don't you think?
Juvenile peregrines are gorgeous -- so colorful.
-
Yes I agree
When I say they are screaming, I see them and just KNOW 8)
Sparky is all over the place
Flies up to visit Stella, goes to boxroof, goes on top of cam - anywhere he pleases
-
Parent(s) still feeding the juvie that is still in the nest box. Maybe a partially eaten pigeon carcass this afternoon. Juvie snatched it and ate some. Later a parent bird came back to feed the youngster.
See GSB Forum for sad news about one of the eyasses there.
-
Thanks for getting pics
-
ALL GONE
Fledged 3 in 2022
June 15, 2022
At dawn Stella the leftover was flapping on the outer perch.
First I've seen her off the box
6 am she flies up to the box roof
Then she tries to get down from box roof and falls cam right just outside box
6.30 am I see 2 juvies run on the roof with prey
Have not seen 3 at once since Sprite fell
-
MSU's chicks have flown the coop, 'eh Shep? Not completely. About 10AM today, one of them came back to the box for a rest and maybe a feeding. If you can zoom, you might be able to read the band numbers.
-
I check in morning, no one
I dont watch all day
THANK YOU for teh pic :D

Shep, thanks for posting the pic of Stella, aka P31. Another of the banded ones joined her, on the box roof, just for a moment.
