I'll say this for HD2 - she really has that nest in a mess.  Usually at this time of the fledge the antics and bouncing of 2 or 3 eaglets have things pretty much flatten - looking like a runway.   Only took one to leave it looking like a bachelorette crash pad.  Seeing some more intense looking out and around, making up the escape route?

Puff, I have to agree with you on that...DH2 needs to tidy up that nest, but I think all nests look this way once it is close to fledge time.   :D

I agree about the mess in the nest!  HD and HM are bringing bigger and more varied prey, like raccoons, and the fur and bones collect and attract the flies.  On the other hand, the black flies seem not too bad this year.

DH2 could be outta there at any time now.

Yes, eburg, I just opened up the cam and there was DH2 looking beautiful!!! ;D Does anyone know when it happened? I didn't see any branching but was away from the cam a good bit yesterday..

DH2 branched to the Y at 8:20 a.m.  First time branching.

Edit:  Oops!  That was the second time branching.  First branching was earlier this morning at about 7:13 a.m.  According to RRP, this first branching was to the cam branch.

Hoorah for DH2! Great news about branching.

Lisa, that cam branch pic is about as closeup as we could want to be!
Company's coming to my house, so I'll catch up later.

                                    Any minute now >>>>>>>>
Has an eaglet ever fledged in the rain?  The weather forcast says light rain but I don't see any on the wings.  Those flies might make it happen though.  That's their only value haha

DH2 is loving life out on a limb.   8)

It must feel wonderful to be in the river corridor wind out on the Y away from the nest bowl bugs.   ;D

Way to go DH2, it won't be long now until he/she is soaring the Hatchery skies ...

My guess is he/she will be heading back to the nest shortly _ http://tiny.cc/b0c8vz

Not 11 years now since I last saw an eaglet truly branch directly from N1 to the Y.

I'm so smiling.
