She must have done it overnight. The one you posted, Shep, looks like before sunrise and this is what was at the beginning of the rewind.
-
:o Midnight March Madness!
They lay at midnight
-
Midnight March Madness! ;D
March 17 is probably a record for us! That puts banding on Friday, May 12 or Monday, May 15. I do not ever remember starting on May 12 before.

Mom. Her bands don't look like our usual ones...........dad looks unbanded.

March 22, 2023
-
3-24 4th egg about 11:15 AM
Dad had a turn, but when mom came back it was time to leave! :)
-
Mom decided to take a break and dove between the perch and the nestbox, so dad went in and took over for a while.

About 1310 Dad was on the eggs and a young intruder from somewhere showed up. He really protected the eggs and it left. Mom came in a little later to take over.
-
HOLY COW
-
I'd say "she" was only there a few seconds. Hit the perch, hopped to the front of the nest box while dad was going crazy, and looking at her eyes I have a hunch mom was entering the area fast and she took off.
-
0930 It doesn't look like there have been anymore "visitors", at least not to the nest box today.
-
I found this from about 1615 and all looked well, so hopefully they did well if any storms went through there tonight, it's too dark to tell.
-
It looks like all is well after the storms. Dad out and mom came in..........
-
That intruder footage is wild! Has anyone managed to get a band number? I checked the switch footage today and of course the back was pointing at us! ::)

Was the young one back?? I hadn't found that one anymore.

It's a month since they started laying! That time went fast. All is good on the home front....
Exit dad, enter mom.
-
It's almost a month since the last egg was laid and a couple more days than a month since the first. We should be getting close to have a family here. Only view of the eggs today.............

I've been keeping an eye on the eggs today.
-
Might there be a pip or getting close? DAD BROUGHT A BIRD TO THE EGGS, THEY WOULDN'T TAKE IT, AND HE CAME OUT AND GAVE IT MOM.
-
;D Hahaha! I've seen male birds try to feed their eggs before.
Those are their children.
-
Probably getting close to hatching and he heard them. He looked rather hurt or confused when no one took it :D
-
The NJ eggs pipped and I can HEAR the babies inside- big pip in one egg

-
This afternoon about 1410. ALL FOUR! Not sure exactly when it hatched being we were gone, but at that time it was fluffy.
-
Ahh the goofy dads. He had one separated from the rest on the left side and of and didn't seem to know what to do. Mom came back, he left, and she gathered them all together. ;)
-
Hey you guys!!! This is after dark!!!

-
Early breakfast that mom took from dad for the feeding and a morning huddle...
-
It's hard to see all four heads, but they're all getting their heads up good for the feedings. The two bigger ones are in front and back left is the littlest one. That one gets right up there with its mouth open. :)
-
All four up and eating this morning :) Love the little round heads at this age.
-
They had a good meal about 0900. Good to see all of them going for it!
-
THE CAM IS BACK!! The plant was doing some maintenance so the cam was down for a while. WOW have they grown. Loved the one with it's little behind in the air and all lined up to eat. :)
-
5-13
Eating good and getting around!
-

Wow dad doesn't even have to give bites to individual ones, they just grab it. ;D They're sure getting around good.
-
I see the Alma gang have their bands!!!! There is sure a pile of them when they snuggle down together and looks at those wings! Tails are growing and wing tips!
-

I was offline 10 LONG days! UGH!
DONT USE COX INTERNET!!
-
Wow they're starting to look like birds instead of balls of fluff. They're getting out on the perches now too!
-
They're really getting into going onto the perches and flapping up to the roof.
-
This one amazed me before it went up on the roof. It was perched on the perch and doing bouts of wing flapping. This time WHILE FLAPPING it reached a foot up and scratched under the chin!!!
-
Poor dad. He brought a meal and all four we very anxious to get it. One grabbed it from him and then another went his direction with its wings all spread. He took refuge on the other perch while they worked on the meal.
-
6-7-23 Dad was out on the perch and one of the juvies made its way out there and was picking at him and bugging him, so he went to the other perch where the ones in the nest box were bothering him and then took refuge up on the roof. The original juvie got up there and dad took off.
-
One was on the right perch flapping like crazy. It went over the left perch and was doing a lot of looking around and accidentally left the perch. The two at the nest box looked down. (About 1535)
-
About 1800 -- Dad brought a meal and started feeding the one in the nest box. The little guy on the roof came down to the perch, then flew to the perch on the right. Dad brought some leftovers to the entrance to the box and the little guy flew over to him, missed, and went down. Dad looked down and dove after him. The little guy was back after while.
-
Continued.....
-
Three are flying to the roof and/or elsewhere. #4 is now flapping out on the perch, but no roof yet.
-
They're gonna have their wings full with this batch, they're all flying. Two were in the nest box when it got light, spent some time on the perches flapping. Another flew in and joined them. Dad flew in with a meal and it was grabbed while he was on the perch and he got out of there. Two bigger ones went in the corner of the nest box and both were mantling and eating and the little guy went in there and crawled under the wings of the one and darned if he didn't get it!!! After all three were done eating and left one of the parents showed up and checked for them and sat on the perch after seeing no one home.
-
Continued....
-
Two spent the night in the nest box. The smaller went out on the long perch and was flapping. One of the flaps the wind caught it and it ended up on the perch in front of the nest box, but went back over to the long perch before going up on the roof. As of 2:00 the other one is still in the nest box today. They sure look great when they stand with their wings out and let the wind under them.
-
Two were in the nest box overnight. This morning the one came out and then went to the right-hand perch, then the second one came out and sat with its wings out and after a bit disappeared. No sign of anyone until this noon when mom or dad was perched on the right-hand perch preening and doing a lot of looking around keeping an eye out.
-
Two spent the night in the nest box again. About 4:50 AM they were out on the perches. At 5 AM the bigger one hopped in the nest box and when it hopped back onto the perch took off and the smaller one immediately followed it.
-
Didn't see anyone again until one landed at 11:40 and only stayed a few minutes.
-
The Dairyland Power Alma falcons have fledged and the cam is offline for the season. Thanks for watching with us!
