MrN seems to be taking the egg-brooding duty seriously; DNF not so much. She has been the nest this morning but not to settle on the egg. The cold, wet weather won't help the survival rate for this egg, I fear. About 7AM, they perched together on the snag but no mating, then flew to the Scary Tree for a time. DNF came to the nest briefly, then MrN brought her a bird, pheasant I think, and she returned to eat some of it but did not stay. MrN came to protect the egg, and DNF joined him on the nest to call at about 11:00. Both flew off, and MrN came back to brood until posting time of 11:30-ish.
Early morning pics here. Later on the next post.
