Rainy, chilly today, and the Spartan peregrines are taking care of business.

The school motto  "Spartans Will"  applies to its nesting population!

Everything looks OK at the Spartan Peregrine nest box. Eggs take 29 to 32 days until hatching.
First egg March 27, fourth egg April 3.  So maybe the first week of May.

Changeover at the Spartan nest box about 8:30 AM.  Everything looks good here.

Nope - no hatch dawn Apr 29

Shep, the eggs look intact this morning, too.  AllAboutBirds says incubation is 29 to 32 days, so hatching should be soon.  I'd love it if one hatches today -- it's my birthday!

May 3, 2024  RAINING, LIGHTNING
At dawn I saw the eggs.
2 of them look like hatch by noon today.

I saw flashing - its lightning flashing on the raindrops.  WOW!

Its wet inside box - NOT good for new hatch young!

LindaM, thanks for the birthday card.  What a treat to have a peregrine card!

Mid-morning today, light rain, pics of the changeover from Sparty Dad to Sparty Mom.  The 4 eggs looked un-pipped to me, but I'll definitely check earlier on the rewind, and later, too.

At about noon, the eggs were in view, no obvious pips.  Won't be very long, though.
