shep - that's it for his obit?! :o :o No mention of family or his job! ???
shep~~~Thank you for adding the wonderful tribute to Bob! Somehow his loss has changed everything about the communication among the RRP threads!
Remembering his selflessness going out into the cold weather to "track" D1 for a possible picture to share with all of us viewers. How excited he would be when he did succeed! It gave him great pleasure to share his special gifts with everyone who wanted to enjoy them.

I hope people can find the time to read this wonderful article about Bob Anderson at this link:

(Thanks to Dobe and Finn and others who brought this article's link to Forum also.)
(Hint: You can click on "skip survey" at the bottom of the pop-up survey to continue to that article.)
a friend of Bob's is quoted as saying:
"Friend and colleague Dave Kester of Decorah said Anderson had been feeling weak, tired and short of breath this spring before being diagnosed with atrial fibrillation, which at times manifested itself with a racing heartbeat.
Anderson was on his way to the doctor Monday when he collapsed and died, Kester said."
Laceyest - Welcome to the RRP forum. You should check out the other rooms in the forum too. Cheers, Beak and Decorah 2015 are rooms with lots of info too.
baz - !!!!!!!!!!! I found you!! :D :D :D :D :D
ginger - thanks for the info from S.O.A.R. The 1:00p.m. time would be CT. Do you know what eagle Bob is holding in this pic?
I found this in the comment section of a S.O.A.R. post. It was not posted by Kay or anybody connected to S.O.A.R. I will be posting it in other rooms. ;D

1447 - it's up to 213, word just needs to get out :)
baz - every time I see that pic of Bob I want to hug and kiss him. :-* :D I see they spelled the falcon's name without the "a" at the end. I see the wording hasn't been changed in the petition yet from bring to brink.
I'd like to see Bob's memorial service live streamed on ustream.
Shouldnt be too hard to do!
I will be posting this facebook question and answer section in multi rooms so everybody can see it. ;D
Q: (by poster) I know there has been some talk of wanting the service on live feed. Is that possible for those that can not make the service? If not we all truley understand the wishes of the family.
A: (by RRP) I will talk to the family about it. If they say yes, we will see if it is technically possible for streaming or recording for later broadcast.
A; (by Sherri E.) The suggestion of a live feed to air the Celebration of Life service for Bob on August 8th will be a decision made by Bob's family and RRP. While we recognize that many would like to be a part of the sendoff for Bob, we have to remember that he was a pretty humble, no fuss, kind of guy, so we will be guided by the direction of his family and will let you all know when a decision has been made. We'll keep you all posted in the days ahead.
We also encourage each one of you who are too far in geographic distance to attend, to be with Bob in spirit and there are many ways you can quietly, contemplatively, honor him on that day in that hour. I will not be able to be there, but I have my own tribute planned ... I'll be planting a Cottonwood tree on my property in his honor. There are many ways we can each do an act that is befitting how much Bob has meant to us.
August 6, Thursday
Evidently they will NOT stream the service LIVE :(
But the Decorah eagles thread will gather to chat in their forum thread at 1 Saturday.
Maybe they will open their chatroom - I dont know

Bob's Celebration of Life was laid out by Amy. She & others did a wonderful of displaying all of the things Bob loved.
20 minutes to 1 mom Decorah made her appearance with a low fly across the pond and swooped up and away. We then went to the service. It was awesome to hear from Bob's family, friends & all who worked with him. It was sad & funny all at the same time.
John will do a wonderful job not loosing sight of Bob's vision. John was excited & ready to start. Bless the team as they carry on Bob's mission.
I met so many of our forum members, mods, Amy & Bob's friends. It was an honor!
To many to name, but you all know who you are :-*
I have always said, Bob brought the world together doing what he loved :'(
Another nice write up from the Minneapolis StarTribune yesterday.

Amy publicly published the RRP Blog and RRP FB article with the new RRP announcements yesterday evening. In this instance, I knew they had already given out some of that information, even though it wasn't "in print" yet on their official RRP pages, when a new Director and Board Members were identified as such with name tags this past Saturday in Decorah.
I am so glad Amy was able to get those announcements out yesterday. I'm excited about the make-up of the expanded Board! It's going to bring a lot of additional expertise and experience from several different areas and backgrounds to add to that which was already there on the Board. Amy's new Blog spot post answered so many questions. I hope people will read that new Blog Spot, and not just the short announcement. And I'm feeling positive about what they may be working on in terms of a "starter nest" for Mom and Dad. We'll have to wait and see what Mom and Dad think of it. ;)
I'm still so sad about Bob's death, but I am encouraged by the energy that "RRP and Company" are showing during a time of what must be deep grief for them all.
There is great information to be found in the new RRP Blog about the RRP Board and Director and the first four projects from Bob's "Top 10" project list, which are being worked on immediately. Be sure to see those near the bottom of that Blog, which can be found at:

I think someone asked about the eagle Bob was carrying on page Three
of this thread. I believe that was Four! The picture was posted by Ginger.
Godiva -- you've got it right except I'm not sure if it recovered and was released. When I read SOAR's update page, it indicated the eagle had some improvement but there was never an outcome indicated.
The one that they rescued and it urped up all over Bob and his car............... ;)
Bob's legacy!
Raptor Resource Project Falcon Banding 2015
Falcon banding this year - 24 RRP sites produced a total of 80 falcons, of which 60 were banded.

Amy send this pic to me and I have the permission to post it.http://www.thehomedi.de/Bob/Bob-Decorah.html
One of the last pics of Bob, who did so much for his raptors and for us.
Walton - thanks for the info about the rescue of that Bald Eagle. Here is "Part Two" of that - story of the release with video, and there also is a still photo of the "principals" involved at the bottom of this news article. The Good Samaritans were identified and were there to participate in the release, as Bob hoped they would be. :)

Wasn't sure where to post this, then I thought Bob would like to know one of Minnesota's Falcons was located in Lima Peru!!!!!!!
This is from Hawk Ridge.
A big shout-out to our Peregrine Watch staff! We were notified that one of the young Peregrine Falcons we were watching this spring at the nest site on the Torrey Building in downtown Duluth was recovered in Lima, Peru this past week! This was the farthest ever recovered for a Minnesota peregrine. The young male bird made its way into a soccer enclosure on the Peruvian coast, and after a few days was captured by a worker and turned over to a raptor breeder for rehab; he reportedly was a little thin and had a slight wing droop, but hopefully will make a full recovery. We were contacted by a local Peruvian biologist with the info, after he contacted the Bird Banding Lab & Midwest Peregrine Society.
