Good Morning Beakers!

Phyl, a very lovely story, loved Grandma's reaction when she realizes the gift is a cat! The Sanderlings in the 365, I could watch them scurry around all day! What a unique snowman! LOLOL! 37 now, 51 high for today. Nice December weather!

oldguy, good update on Grindavik, sad that they can't get back in their homes for Christmas. Such a neat little town! Love the cats in Istanbul!

Lani, Love the cross-eyed Siamese kitty, Beanie was cross-eyed! Not uncommon in Siamese. I agree with you, Lisa is a beautiful Grandma! Back in the 70's Mom used to get us the Hallmark year ornament every year, they are all the fragile balls. That was before the Keepsake ornaments, most all ornaments were balls!

BL, why am I not surprised that your grandparents were adventurers! You had to get it from somewhere!  ;D

kb, the VFW in my small hometown puts a wreath on every Veteran's grave in the county at Christmas since there is no military cemetery nearby.  So the cemetery's are sprinkled with wreaths   Very pretty in the snow... I think Christmas is when we miss them the most...

tsk, scary is Kelsey in the morning! We always ask her if she slept with her head in the pillowcase! You love Hallmark stores like I do! The day after Christmas is wonderful, good half price items!  Our Half Price Store closed, don't know why as it was always busy. Now a Flooring store, exciting...yawn.

E4E, I am five years older than you, I graduated in 1970! How did we survive with ho cell phones, computers, ipads? I think we did okay, we just got the words to songs wrong quite often!  The Hallmark Gold Crown Store I loved to shop at closed a couple of years ago, now it's a stupid Dollar Tree (they need to change their name to the 'Buck and a Quarter Store!).

This video is totally off any topic, but it was very interesting to watch! Hope you enjoy it!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7__r4FVj-EI

Doug Kelsey (my cousin in Bloomington, IL) - Someone has been busy this week…

Lynn and I were up at Comlara Park hiking this afternoon. A beaver had cut down this tree plus three smaller ones.

Never lie, steal, cheat, or drink. But if you must lie, lie in the arms of the one you love. If you must steal, steal away from bad company. If you must cheat, cheat death. And if you must drink, drink in the moments that take your breath away. ~ Unknown

Good Morning Beakers

tsk - I am ROFL at your SCARY.  Tim is not scary.  Sounds like you had a great day in Milwaukee.

Phyl - Loved getting those hard candies in the net stocking for Christmas as a kid. Thanks for the 365, and awww, the present for Grandma!

E4E - Pretty Christmas pic last evening.

Lani - Yes, the video does make you tear up, and seeing the trucks in person even more.
Here are a few pics taken by the Sheriff's Office this morning, as they were having breakfast at the American Legion up by the bridge.  Thank you for the kind words.  :-*

oldguy - Thanks so much for the videos.

Puff - Morning  :)

clynn - Thank you  :-*  Wow, the beaver was busy!  Love the Christmas arrangement in the old Coca-Cola bottling case.

mostly sunny - low 44 - high 69

BL - Memories of your Grandparents  :-* :)

Og - Chaplin & Keaton  ;D    The Iceland update  :o ::)   What an excellent guitarist Frank Gambale!!  Will come back to links later.

Puff - Awe! :)

Lani - Yes, had a great visit with my friend and Olive Garden was so good.  I had the Seafood Alfredo, and brought half of it home!  Cute Christmas siamese kitty in your nite pic!!   You sure have some special ornaments at 50+ years old - I bet your tree is absolutely lovely.

Phyl - Liked the Sanderlings 365.   Loved the Christmas gift for the Grandma - great story and pictures!

Tsk  :)

Clynn - Love the coca-cola box Christmas scene. :)       Don't know how we went through our HS years without cell phones, computers, etc!! I know I used to spend time in the library to get information for school assignments!   I never understood why our local Hallmark Gold Crown closed, as it was always a very busy store - very popular!
Amazing Octopus vid!!  Yikes - those trees chewed by the Beavers  :o ::)

LisaG - Such a beautiful sight of those trucks parked at the American Legion.

Beakers have a nice day.

E4E (and someone else mentioned too) I still work with my gold crown card.  About 2 years my evil store switched from a Amy's Hallmark to Little Green Apple but still mostly same Hallmark "stuff", plus more.  Again, I've dubbed it evil.

Looking up some background when the changes happened: It seems as though they were still prosperous, but new family generation wanted to expand and experiment.  Open house in November still got their share $ .   ::)

Unfortunately - Never ran into Rita.

Good Morning and tgif!
Great posts last night and this morning!   Thanks for the  humor, information, and Christmas cheer!   Busy Beavers, entertaining pet octopus (who knew). Great picture of the wreaths truck!
Siamese kitty is darling.
Sunny today and rain expected this weekend.  My basket of sunpatients  is still going strong!  The cold will get it one of these nights!

Good Morning!

I'm blessed with a Christmas Present delivered by UPS from sister yesterday evening: A HUGE Box of meat from Omaha Steaks. I had to totally clean out my freezer this morning and take all the meat out of individual boxes (it's vacuum packed) to make room for it all. Chicken breasts, franks, hamburger patties, pork loin chops, meatballs, apple tarts, potatoe, and of course STEAKS! additional seasoning. Had to cut off the instructions of each box and save.
Sis and hubby have been sick so didn't want to stop on by before Christmas. They are fine but preparing for a trip to Rochester next week to take care of her son and DIL's dogs while they travel..

Gloomy today but I can't complain and won't.

It looks like the east coast is going to have major rain/wind storm running from Florida up the coast to Maine this weekend.  Check out your local forecast to stay updated...

Hi Karen, Puff ;D

Kb, what a wonderful Christmas gift from your sister!  ;D .... love the lion, and the photos.. so far no snow.  ;D

Eagles, when I put my ornaments up, I can remember the places and year I bought them, and why they spoke to me. Their like an old book I get to take out once a year and go through their pages. I don't rush putting them up, each one calls me to put them in a certain spot. And they're never in the same spot or order... I'll finish the tree today. That's why I keep my tree up till my birthday  :). I have Hallmark, homemade Swedish ornaments from Lindsborg, KS, German ornament from Wilson, KS, Lawrence, KS, Kansas City, MO, homemade bread ornaments from summer/fall festivals, hand blown glass ornaments from little hideaway Christmas shops in various states I've vacationed.

Lisa, wonderful pics of the trucks!!!  :-*

Phyl Sanderlings nature video.... awww sweet grandmother and Christmas Kitty....

Oldguy, glad to see the Grindavik residents able to return, though many houses will need to be demolished. Good luck to the residents and the city government as they go through recovery. Glad it's not me.  :-\. ... I'm thankful the Istanbul stray cats have someone who cares.... Hana and Maru.... God Bless Claire and her beautiful cat family, surely she'll return  :'( .... Chocolate is a salad  ;D ;D ;D.  thanks for links....

Clynn, I have the Peanuts Hallmark Christmas ornaments. I gave Shannon quite of few pieces, she loves Charlie Brown and his gang.... Mark and Sashimi, what a story! I pray Sashimi finds another treasure trove, here's to many more Sashimis!! ... busy beavers "TIMBER"  :o

I have this 70's Snoopy Christmas bell of the Peanuts Hallmark Christmas collection.
