{{{Baz and Zippo}}} Love your bluebird story. They would make a walk very enjoyable. There's a home at the end of our street, and every fall the bluebirds arrive and fly from oak tree to oak tree. They don't have a feeder at this home, I keep begging them to come up to my home, because I have one. Glad all is well after your shot. Sweet dreams to you and Zippo.  :) :-*

Eagle, glad you're well.  :-*.. Mike is very happy with his printer, it's quiet when it prints. He did several charts with the photos he took in Louisiana and they scanned perfectly!

Tig, I hope you're doing well after your shot.  :)

{{{Karen and Piper}}} glad you're shot went better than before.

Tsk, bear season ends on Sunday.  ;D

Good Morning Everyone...TGIF  !

Currently 56F   High  70F sunny,  Low 50 F  clear skies.

CLynn
so very happy to know that Jerry is doing well. Tks for calling him.
I really enjoyed the snaps of your visit to Annie's with your sis/SIL Becky and Jennifer.  And, that one of you and Annie together is my most fave. I love it.

Eagles glad  to read that you got your vax and are doing well.  ;)

'Harley' & CLynn Maggie  and her 'strain' are doing well. She weighed in at 5#s a wee bit light for her. But, vet seemed pleased. In her youth she had gotten
up to 9#s. My lil o' lady looked like a cocktail sausage on tooth picks.  :-*

Bazi wonderful BB story. They are such fun to watch---pair them up with house wrens and you'll have some fun.   Thank  you for asking about my Maggie she's doing well. Recovering nicely.  ;)

Lori thanks for the tribute to Annie. Esp enjoyed some of her fave videos

Karen do glad your vax went well and turned out better than last time.  Tree frogs in the house= Piper  ;)

Tsk Annies' calves, 'Decaf' and "Oreo'  :) looking forward to your puzzles and snaps of them.

Tig how did your vax go? I sure hope all went well and you feel  just fine

KB just loved the lion video--the girls and boys running to greet their handler---act just like our pussy cats at home. Oh just don't confuse though.
Sad start of Penny's life---but look at it now!   I've heard of Niall Harbison and his work with abused dogs. I've also seen him on Twitter.

Lisa M. Pepe :)  I just may print that latest snap of Ms. Sydney and post it above the PC  ;D  Like Annie, she has an infectious smile  ;)

Prayers for:    Our friend and ally the Nation of Israel and peace for her people.

GOOD MORNING

Heavy rain today starting mid morning.  Rain from Wed and Thurs  1/2 " in my gauge.

BAZI    Love that you have company on your walk .  ;D ;D    With vaccine, like you, shoulder discomfort did not start for hours later.  I felt great for the first 17 hours.  Fever only as high as 100.7.   Nausea.  From there another 17 hours to start to feel better.  I'm sure you will do fine.  I just seem to react to vaccines.

LANI   What an amazing good night sunset with water reflections  :o

PHYL  Bummer on losing posts  :P  Awesome AM photo.  I love that perspective. :)   Serene 365  ;)

Good Morning Beakers!

tsk, we had rain during the night and into this morning, the radar looked like you were getting hit hard!

Phyl, thanks for the map of viewing for the Ring of Fire, looks like the best place to be is southern Texas! Beautiful 365, eerie....  I am so very glad to hear that Maggie is doing well, I had to chuckle at ' a cocktail sausage on toothpicks'!  Interesting morning picture!

Lani, glad Mike has a good printer now, so much easier to live life when things go well! Smiles at Sadie prancing like a beautiful princess...and so she is! You and your family have given her a wonderful, loving home... Bear hunting almost over! We haven't heard anything from NABC, now we wait to see who is spotted. Can't imagine shooting one of those beautiful creatures, Donna and her cubs just look so sweet, who could point a gun at that?

E4E, I have nowhere to lay a puzzle in my house, except for the table we eat on!  And then there's Harley, he would lay on it and then start knocking pieces off...  :o :o

baz, sweet memories of willi...Jerry took all of us on one of their favorite rides when we were there, we saw all the cows and calves and even an eagle! Jerry was so good, he filled her life with all the things she loved. I remember she led me upstairs (Jerry had rails on both sides of the stairs so she could go up them) and showed me her drawer full of tie dye shirts! The dog in the beach picture is Williwaw, the dog they had years ago and the one she used for her Beaker name. Williwaw and Ivy were both Australian shepherds, her favorite breed. What a fun walk you had with your Bluebird escort!

Lisa, Sydney is such a smiler, she looks so very happy! Her big brown eyes and dark hair are so pretty, she is just precious!

karen, glad to hear that your shot was much better than previous ones!

Lori, lots of good memories in the Beak Room, and lots of goodies that you serve to us!

CLynn I made the mistake of making that 'cocktail sausage'  remark to Maggie's vet at the time---got a scolding . ;D
Luv  the Halloween ghosts. I need to get into the 'spirit' of the season.  ;)
Thanks for Sydney Sea Eagle Cam article and photos. Great videos, all the eaglets had to do was mantle and that bat was gone.

Tsk interesting Jack-O-Lantern this AM. From CLynn's comment above, you'd be instore for some heavy  rain. If you're out & about take care and all.

Hi Tig tks for your vaccine update. Hope you don't feel too bad from it.      Rain for you today.  You have to tell us all about the movie if you see one.  Hope y'all have a good lunch

Always hard to measure rain in our big area Clynn.  Went out for paper - and since I was getting dripped on anyway I thought about my gauge.  Only about 1/4 inch here.  tsk up north of me did have more looking at the radar pic.  But they're still saying tonight is not looking good at all.  Wind will be gusting 30-40 while we should be in lala land.

If you do puzzles it's a challenge along with a cat. ::)  Puff was the one who would jump up, steal one, and later I'd find it chewed up and not laying flat any more.  Ergo, Puff the Beast.  So why am I smiling  (My special guy  :-* and will always be #1).

Wonder how LuLu will take to the puzzles.  Her first experience?

Good Morning!  Light rain for another hour!  Temps generally in the 70s and a few 60s but 81 tomorrow!  Typical for Fall!
Wow, I woke up this am, a new woman!  My back is wonderful!  No pain at all!   I hope I do not wait so long for the next injection!   So far I would not know I have arthritis !
NO plans for today!  Feel like a long winters nap!  Lol!   Not too long!

Unlucky eagle

What does the "eagle flies on Friday" mean?

ChatGPT

The phrase "eagle flies on Friday" is a reference to a song by the band Eagles, called "Seven Bridges Road." The song was released in 1980 and is a live recording of the band playing the song. The lyrics of the song include the phrase "eagle flies on Friday," but the meaning of the phrase is not clear. Some interpret it as a reference to the band's Native American heritage, while others believe it is a reference to a specific event or person. It is not a commonly used phrase and does not have a widely accepted meaning.
Only within the moment of time represented by the present century has one species -- man -- acquired significant power to alter the nature of the world.

T40 the expression "The Eagle Flies on Friday" comes from a 1947 T-Bone Walker Blues song.

Quote
The blues song "Call It Stormy Monday (But Tuesday Is Just as Bad)" has the line "the eagle flies on Friday, and Saturday I go out to play".

Friday was payday for laborers all across the U.S. in 1947 when this song was written. The 50 cent and quarter coins that laborers found in their pay envelopes showed eagle images on their back sides during this era. 1947 was actually the last year that the eagle showed up on the half dollar coin.

When workers paid for their fun during Friday night parties the evening of payday, you could say that "the eagle was flying" whenever they threw coins to a bartender to pay for a drink.

My Dad and His Dad would often say it, but when I say it these days no one knows what it means ..   :)  ;D
