Pip pip hooray! Our eagle-eyed volunteers spotted a little starring on one of the eggs at around 6:53 this evening. Is it on the blunt side of the egg? Check! Are we on hatch watch? Check! And does the egg appear to jump or rock a little bit? It does. It has been eleven years since we watched eaglets hatch in this nest, but DH1 is on its way!
April 3, 2024: Pip in Decorah!

Look for rocking at about 19 seconds: a quick but definite change in the egg's position.

47 now, high 73 today. Partly sunny, rainy, windy chance of storms, tornadoes, large hail... we shall see...

Phyl, Spring here seems to be coming in like a lion this year! Yay, 3 eggs at GSB, Savannah is like 'where did these come from?' Mother Goose looks comfortable with her 6 and #7 is as snug as a bug! HM is keeping her soon to be chick warm and cozy!

Lani, I am so glad Mike doesn't have to drive to Ohio, and good company makes the drive so much better! That's why I like to listed to audio books when I go to Mom's by myself. It's like someone is in the car reading to me...  ;D  I can't wait to get out in the yard and do things!  While I am at Mom's I am sure we will go to Hocking Green Thumb Greenhouse near Mt. Carmel. It's out in the country and always has loads of wonderful plants! I will get Mom a nice flowering plant for her front deck, an early Mother's Day present!  The King's Coronation!  LOLOL!

BL, I had to look up the 1998 Ice Storm! How devastating!  Here is picture I ran across that just looks so out of place with all the downed trees and power lines... This year is the 25th Anniversary of that storm... The small picture is two inches (50 mm) of ice on a twig, may be similar to your pine needle?

tsk, Mom's house has a 3 Season room out back through the sliding doors. The house had a small slab when they bought the house in 1970, later they got a bigger slab poured and put a roof over it, and even later they had it made into a 3 Season room. Dad started calling it the Ca-Ching Room because they kept spending more and more $$$ on it. To this day it's the Ca-Ching. That's what we call it. A good place to sit and read a book with a cup of tea...

Brace your hearts! Bald Eagle 23-126 is the first nestling to arrive at our hospital this year and the first eaglet we have received in over 8 years. This little eaglet is between 1-2 weeks old and only weighs 350g. They arrived at our hospital on 4/1 after their nest tree was blown down in the storm and high winds that recently came through.

Good posts this am!  Fantastic to get on here to see a pip at the y!  M15 sure did a wonderful job withe the eaglets and now can go shopping for another bride!   I do miss Harriet and her footing.   Hope she is safe some where.   I am going home tomorrow or the next day!  Our temps are high for thistime of year and tornadoes have been sneaking past!
Unfortunately the i pad will  not stay connected to the wifi here.   Do not know when this will post. But things will get better in a few days!   Cheers!
