National Arboretum DC Eagle Cam
This Male is named The President

They call the new female LOTUS
She chased off our Lady
January  2022

HISTORY
I am hoping for eggs in 2022
There were no eggs in season 2019, 2020 or 2021
There has been several females fighting for this nest.
The 2022 female has brown on her tail, indicating she is young

A new, young female bald eagle arrived in spring 2021 and replaced the previous female bird named the First Lady.

SNOW!
January 3, 2022
I didnt see the eagles all day long until 5 pm
then they both showed up - one in nest - BRIEFLY! - one up high on branch
It was absolutely a beautiful snow .....  because I didnt have to SHOVEL it!

January 4, 2022
Both spent last night next to each other on their branch in the distance.
The night before they were in different trees
Around 7 am or so they both sailed to the nest tree
Both looked for awhile at all the snow filling the beautiful nest then flew away

Around noon we had a little visitor

This female is young - maybe a 5/6 year old.

1 EGG, WRONG NEST
Feb. 9, 2023
Good news / bad news.  The pair built a new nest.  They have an egg.  But no cam.

2/4/23 – Update
A second eagle nest was discovered on Arboretum property, closer to the river and golf course. Through photos and ground observations we have a positively identified the pair of eagles as Mr. President and Lotus.
