I couldn't find a general discussion on birds, so am posting this here.

Three times in the last week I've been outside very early in the morning, getting ready to leave for appointments for biopsies, 2 MRIs, and a specialist visit.  Each time four beautiful Sandhill Cranes were between 6 & 8 ft. away from me, checking the grass for a morning breakfast of worms, but most of the time just standing there.  They didn't move away from me (all the other times I've seen them they are strolling, not stopping), and they certainly put a smile on my face & uplifted my spirits & it was such a gift for them to be there.  Birds definitely have a healing power to them.

I didn't want to disturb them by taking out my phone to take photos, so this isn't my picture - it's one that someone else in the neighborhood took at an earlier date.
