Successfully banded 2 female Eaglets, numbers 17 and 18 banded from this nest since 2007 and returned to the nest.

Green Bands numbers 41 and 42

Live sound feed sucked, breaking up, but the recorded feed is good and available now on Ustream

An amusing incident happened after the return of the now banded first eaglet to the nest and the tree climber John was preparing to gather up the second eaglet to send down for banding....the second eaglet started to do the familiar to nest watchers head stand prior to letting loose a PS. The eaglet was facing toward John, so he was in no danger, but the colossal crap went over the side and out of camera range to rain over whomever was below the nest, which was a crowd of humans awaiting the lowering of the second eaglet for banding.

I was alert for a catastrophe but Apparently nobirdy got hit, or at least nobirdy admitted it on the ground, and I got a chuckle out of it.

The longest, most legendary bonking battle ever seen (by me, anyway) happened at this nest 4 years ago.  It has to be seen to be believed.  As egg #3 was pipping and the poor chick inside must have been wondering what he was about to walk into, all-out war broke out between the first two chicks.  These two hatched out of sight under mom at nearly the same time, making age irrelevant in establishing the pecking order.  It took them awhile to work things out.

:) Gotta love  these Eagle parents-"neither wind nor snow nor sleet nor hail" prevents them from taking care of their eggs.
