FB page is saying there is a second egg...confirmed by Lori..

I must say there was a part of me that was hoping for only 1 this season after what happened last year...

somewhere between 17 and 23 inches they say...
Sis and I are calling it: The worst winter ever in our lifetimes!....snow and ice and snow and ice

I hope Mom and Dad and the eggs will hang on....that's an awful lot of snow.

Good Morning MpMom. So glad to see you here monitoring another season. This has always been one of my favorite nests, and you always seem to be right there to keep me updated. I was out of town and missed the egg laying. Looking forward to watching the progress this season. Hopefully we end with two successful fledges.

Welcome back Raleigh!!! I love this nest & have watched since it went online. The 2 parents are cute together & hope it continues. We need a great season!!

The last pic may be dad eating. Now I'm getting confused. I know it is mom on the nest at night & usually catch when she leaves in the am, but I can't be here every second of the day. :-\

They have really improved their camera. Beautiful pair of eagles. Is this still our young male who would now be on his third year at this nest? I recall he really improved his parenting skills last season.

From the dnr Raleigh...
As you may remember, last year, the male disappeared from the nest. We suspect he succumbed to HPAI (highly pathogenic avian influenza), but it was never confirmed. Over the summer, another male began visiting the territory and the past few months, our female has accepted his presence and it appears she has a new mate. We are excited to see how the EagleCam season plays out and watch the male and female bond over the next couple of months before mating begins.
