Good to know both of you (Puff and nanimal) are watching the Norths.  Always like to hear from you, and it would be lovely to see pics from you and others, too.    ;)

Several rabbits grazing before dawn, but no pics from me.  Otherwise quiet up to noon.

Hi there, Puff! Thanks to both of you. :)

Norths at work.  Video or rewind to see DNF breaking a branch and MrN gathering grasses.  Great views and spectacular eagles flying from here to there.

Before dawn, two does resting under the nest area, chewing their cuds. At the same time, DNF was poking around on the nest.
One eagle perched (DNF) near the nest and another in a creek tree above the Spit (MrN or visitor) for quite a while. By 8:30 or so, DNF was eating a rabbit (I think) at the nest, but did not see who brought it.  The "edible masses" seemed too much to be rabbit in some views, so perhaps more was brought?  Around 10:00, MrN was on the nest, cleaning up the leftovers.

About 2.30 am One of the eagles vocalized.
10 minutes later - more vocals, insistent.

My guess is it was hit by an owl - and cussing the owl out royally.

I heard an owl hoot afterward.  Probly said - nyah nyah.

Nice pic of woodpecker!
Love all the wildlife in the area

Pesky owls this time of year.
About 7:30 and the next hour, the Norths perched in a creek tree that needs a name (or a reminder to me of the name).
Nestorations continue.  The Norths perched together below the broken limb, like they used to on the Ladder Branch.
First snowflakes are falling this morning!

The Norths have been working on the nest all morning.  Cam ops got some great views of them breaking off sticks from creek trees, flyins and outs, and closeups.  Rewind or video is best for the stick collecting because it's so far away.

They have several ears of corn in the nest.  Expect squirrels to visit for dinner.

Here's a top down view of the nest surface.  Corn plus some grasses.  And a nice young buck making his way under the nest area.

The Norths spent the night in the Love Branches, visited the nest briefly before sunrise.  The cattle grazed the area under the nest while MrN was arrranging sticks.  Thanks to cam ops for the view of the nest tree from the ground about 9:30. I missed the instant of MrN flying away, but you can watch on the rewind.

Long sticks and grasses are on the nest work menu this morning before noon.  Cam ops got some great tandem working views.

I'm calling the long, bouncy Spit Tree branch the Diving Branch because the eagles use it to dive on fish in the creek, and to descend for bathing.   :D

DNF had a long (cold) bath at the Spit while a cow grazed nearby, around noon today.  Close to 1:00, MrN was diligently working with sticks on the nest, and after 2:30, DNF returned to arrange grasses.
