Calhound, I guess you are tuckered out and in bed by now. I wanted to tell you, just checked on Jewel. I guess there must have been a problem tonight. Chatters were concerned about her breathing and Jewel continues to worry about what's outside the den. Poor thing. A post also said, Dr's visits are only allowed once a week. So, they cannot come back tomorrow to fix the cam. They have to wait till next Friday. But, it all depends how she settles back down again. I also asked Mary Ann, if we should start a thread for Jewel and do our posting there. Because we don't want to take up space in the beak room. Since I am posting this online, If anyone can help us start a thread I would appreciate the help. It was fun seeing E3forPresident in the chat room, and I am sure there was a couple more Decorah members participating too. Let me know your thoughts in the morning..and if any of our forum buddies have suggestions please feel free to suggest away!  Cheesy

Lani, I think you could just start a new thread under Animal Cams (I think that's the name). I don't know if you have to have permission to start a new thread, but you could just ask MrsFalcon.

All Things Bright and Beautiful

Ming,
I'm speechless. The birthing process was amazing. I was surprised, and I am probably showing my ignorance. But, I was surprised they didn't have hay or allow elephant to give birth on ground. It was so slippery for the baby. I'm just a worry wort, so my apologies. But, thank you for sharing. My head is spinning. Pictures in my head of Mom and Dad on the Y Branch, then Jewel and cubs had a stressful afternoon, and now ending with beautiful birth of baby elephant. I'm exhausted, I'm sure mama elephant even more so.

Thank you Ming,
So glad your eyes are better.
Take care,
lani

I am up way past my bedtime.  I just downloaded and read Sue, Pete and Darci's book Decorah Eagles  - a love story.  It is now available for purchase, proceeds going to RRP.

I really enjoyed it, and some of the pictures were from Roger Schmidt.  Is that our Iceline??  Published??  So cool Cool !!

I am having trouble downloading it to my iPad, and read it on my laptop.

Can't sleep...visions of dad and mom, Jewel, and baby elephant keep prancing about in my head.

Jewel and cubs Update:

Here is the posted update on what happened today. I didn't realize at least 500 classrooms use this Den-watch program as part of their studies, as well as a Den-Watch Team. Their studies and collection of data have to be put on hold for a week, because of the movement of the cam. Please read it's very informative.

I'm with Kato!  If anyone out there speaks Eagle would you please tell M&D to build up that left side of the nest as we see it.  I tried but they don't understand me.

We rented a spot at a RV park for a month. After that we will probably go to Tuscon and check that out.
Hi, Bischue.  We are the last ones on tonight.  Hope you are enjoying Arizona.  I came close to buying a house in Prescott, but the deal fell through.  I have a friend in Golden Valley.

M & D are getting serious.
