Great video Elf. What's cool about this nest is the branch so close to the camera! Cute how he looks into camera for his "close-up"

Elf thanks for that interesting video. I saw them there earlier and they seem to be in the nest more than last week.

11:04 Mom flies off from 3. There is no egg, but a very well formed egg cup is there. I'm off to dreamland.

For the third time in a month a juvie has just landed in the nest. This is not the same one as before, it is obviously older, I'm estimating 2-3 years, has some white plumage developing on head and tail, and the beak is showing some yellow.

Here is the new juvie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMfu44Lh5xYThe adults did cackle at it a few times but never chased it away. This is all very curious to me. I know that when eggs are in the nest the parents will not allow any kind of intruder near the nest, but since they are so close to egg-laying (we've seen them mate in the nest) I would have thought they would be protecting it actively. It is also curious that this is at least the second juvie to land in the nest in the last month. I suppose since the nest is right on the Mississippi River where so many bald eagles congregate at this time of year, it isn't surprising that some of them might be drawn to an established nest.

It almost looks like "visitors" are digging around for food scraps. This nest is like an "inn" for the travelers!

1:20 Eagle resting in the nest. Could be time for egg, but I am not sure if this is mom or dad.
