Alice, thank you for starting this thread and for going to all that trouble to link my videos. This nest is about 140 miles south and a little east of the Decorah nest, and the tree is right on the Mississippi River (
http://www.alcoa.com/locations/usa_davenport/en/pdf/map-alcoa_quadcities.pdf). Although the cam is not an RRP operation, it is the only other eagle cam in Iowa besides the one at Decorah, so it certainly seems that the nest, its occupants, and the cam deserve their own thread on this forum.
Here is a summary of the nest's history from the Alcoa Davenport works site:
"The two parent eagles, we have named Liberty and Justice, began building this nest in 2009. In the spring of 2010 they fledged two eaglets from this nest. In the fall of 2010 we met with U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and then installed the camera on a branch above the nest. This year the eagles tended to two eggs. The first was laid on February 17th and the second on February 20th.
We brought the camera on-line on March 22nd. The first egg hatched on March 26th and the second egg on March 27th. The second eaglet to hatch was small, did not thrive and only lived about a week. The first eaglet has thrived and online voting named her Freedom. Freedom began flying outside of the nest on June 3rd. We would expect to see Freedom in the nest part of the day until she heads out on her own. Last year when there were two eaglets, they stayed around until late July/early August."
Indeed, Freedom did fledge successfully in June, and perhaps even now is keeping company with D1.

Staff at Alcoa Davenport Works installed a new cam this year, with high quality and sound.
The adults have been in the nest a lot more than the adults at Decorah over the last 2-3 weeks. Just this morning, in fact, I have video capture running right now as both adults have returned to the nest after that extremely windy day on Thursday.
Alcoa Davenport Works manufacture rolled aluminum products, including "metal for every space vehicle in America’s program." The company has a strong commitment to responsible environmental stewardship (
