Decorah Eagles: A Love Story

How can I ever begin to express my gratitude to all of you? Together, you have formed one big family, which is now a huge part of who RRP is. I'm reminded that "Success isn't how far you got, but the distance you traveled from where you started." (Steve Prefontaine) Folks, I've traveled a long way! It's because of the people I've met along the way... beginning with Bob, Amy, Darci, Pete, and Darlene. There are those of you I've never met, but have played a HUGE part in creating this book...Cheryl Davidge, Roger Schmidt aka Iceline, and Noah DeLong. If you have ever shared videos or photographs, posted comments, linked articles and websites, YOU are part of this book! I was only the messenger. How could I not tell this story to others? Most certainly, it is a story of eagles. But it is also a story of people; the Chatters, Facebook Fans, UStream Nest Guests, and RRP Forum members! It's a story of how we all came together to share a bond brought about by a family of five birds. Whether this story is enjoyed by an adult or a child, it broadens the perspective of bonds we share with each other and the rest of the natural world. It's more than a story of eagles. It's a story of love and admiration for others. It's a story told from the heart, and I really want to thank you for this opportunity. Thank you for what you do to teach others! You have been my teacher! Sue http://www.friesenpress.com/bookstore/title/119734000004695653

Congratulations you guys!!!! I was reading comments at the bottom of the page about the book at FreisenPress. I'm hoping this was NOT a person that follows "our" Decorah eagles regularly.......... Jean Camuso Hubble · Subscribe · Lowell, Massachusetts If this is a true story, then beware...it has a sad ending. One of the eaglets, was snared in a trap, picked up by it's talons, blindfolded and had a GPS transmitter attached to it's back. When it was released and returned to it's nest, it spent several weeks screaming and had problems readapting to it's new found world. In human terms it would be considered child abduction. If we learned how our world intwined with the natural world, maybe we should strap a backpack permanently to our back and see how natural it feels. I cried at the end of the Decorah story.

Nora, if that person thinks this story has a sad ending, then she most definitely has not followed D1 on her wonderful adventures!

Okay, I'll be honest - I don't care how much the book costs, I will buy it regardless! (You probably shouldn't pass that bit of information on to the authors and publishers though) Ok, Faith . . . since you've said that . . .
Just for you, special pricing:
Hardcover: Twenty-four-ninety-five. Softcover: Nineteen-ninety-five.
Everyone else: Same prices, but you get to put decimal points in the middle.
Pete
Congratulations to the three of you! So many people are excited about your book!! I'm really going to miss your dry wit as mod in the chat!

Being a geek, I just bought the ebook. I have had some frustration trying to move it to my iPad, but I'll get there.
I couldn't stand it and downloaded it and read it on my laptop. It is wonderful. I misted up reading Sue's afterward. I do think it is a good addition to any library, and I'm thinking about donating a copy to my local library.
The pictures are awesome. Thanks all of you for this wonderful book and all your work.
Mary Ann

Well, I was up way past my bedtime trying to download the book to my iPad. In the morning light, I found a good link that helped me. http://www.bluefirereader.com/using-library-books.htmlIf anyone out there is unfamiliar with Adobe Digital Editions (as I was) It was really easy using the instructions in the link. BlueFire is the app recommended by the publisher for these books. Took me a couple of minutes to get the book downloaded, and I'm off to read it again now. Mary Ann
