Thanks to the MN DNR Non-game program and the tennants at Bremer, we have a cam at this special site. Glad you enjoy it. I will be sure to spread the word to those who made it all possible.

My guess about 1.5 weeks ago was two females and one male. We will know today at the 2:00 during the banding. The chicks will be gone from about 1:50 until 2:20 this afternoon.

The chicks are growing so fast. They are over 50% brown and spending nearly the entire time out on the "porch" of the nest box. They should be flying soon.

Just to alert everyone that the MNDNR nongame webcam is live for the 2012 season and the same pair is back-Sota at 18 years old and Jill at 10 years old. First egg should arrive by late March or early April. We know from Kinney in Indiana that an 18 year old male is fertile so hopefully, Sota will have one more productive season in 2012. http://www.justin.tv/mndnr1 is the website for the webcam

kittenface-it is fairly easy to tell Sota from any other bird (missing two toes or partial toes on each foot) and easy to see on the live feed. The pair was just in the box a few minutes ago feeding.
