Falcon in the messy box!

Bob told me he has never seen a falcon do anything quite like this before.

That cannot be healthy! Unless it's bird jerky, I guess.

Please someone, clean up this nestbox! Throw away all that gravel (and wings and skeletons and dried meat) and start over! Maybe the entire box needs to go away and get rebuilt. Bleah.

Just saw someone at the nest and the falcon looked as though he/she did not want anything to do with the mess in the nest behind him/her. There have to be multiple significant meal leftovers in that nest! I think I see legs & feet (besides all the wings).  Shocked

I wonder if the nest didn't get cleaned out by humans because of the location maybe its hard to get to

I'm just surprised with wind and stuff it all stayed in there, you'd think that stuff would be rather light.

Probably just windy or shook off, but that falcon looks as scruffy as the nestbox  Wink

Most of the time I see the "rumpled-looking" one.  They seem to have "bulldozed" the mess to the one half and have a bit of a scrape in the other half of the nestbox.   Going through the 24-hour view they do come in there once in a while.
