Diane the peregrine

First egg at Kodak was laid tonight!  8:01 pm EST was the first view I could find.  Anyone know who the pair is this year?

Diane - The female is Beauty (I think she's from Pennsylvania).  I'm not sure on the male.

Beauty is a daughter of Dorothy and her former mate Erie at the Cathedral of Learning site in Pittsburgh. Archer is a son of Freedom, and therefore a grandson of Mariah and Kaver.

This year, Archer is the male at two nests; the female at the other nest is Unity, who is the daughter of Belle in Toledo, Ohio. Belle is also a daughter of Dorothy, born in 2003.

Archer and Beauty's eggs did not hatch, and they have now disposed of the eggs.

I don't think it is yet known if there is any sign of a hatch at Unity's nest.

More information on Kate St. John's blog:

And on Imprints:

Meanwhile, Mariah and Kaver's legacy continues. Their daughter Quest and her mate Kendal in Toronto have a chick, hatched yesterday! The first egg laid was lost over the edge of the ledge; a nest tray was installed for Quest, and she laid two more eggs.  A second egg disappeared, and they continued incubating the remaining egg.

Here is Quest with Mariah and Kaver's newest grandchild: her mate, Kendal, is from the King Street nest in Toronto.

Thanks everyone.  I wondered what happened to the eggs.  That's too bad.

The eggs looked very strange inside. Beauty and Archer eventually carried them out of the nest.

Beauty certainly lives up to her name.  Sorry her and two-timing Archer's eggs didn't make it.  Maybe she'll find a more devoted mate next year.
