It looks like a good site, but I've found it hard to get into lately until school lets out.  A teacher and his two elementary school classes have done the website and really gotten this site going from cams to you name it.  They should by starting with eggs VERY soon.  Smiley

I was watching mom a day or so ago.  She stood there like she wasn't paying any attention while dad got the stick all arranged and poked down in.  He turned his head like he was looking at something and she quick snatched it and put it over on the other side of the nest  Cheesy

No eggs yet, but sure looks like they're getting closer, they have been there a lot.

I'll bet the orange is  combination of the type of grasses and the lighting, especially early or late in the day.   The National Eagle Center was a bit off, they figured late February or early March, no eggs yet as of sundown today.  Sad

Sad to say there hasn't been any eggs.  Lucy was gone for a while and they believe it's Lucy that is back and she and Larry are seen at the nest quite a bit, but maybe this year is kaput.  Cry  The last update from the 19th said:

The camera was out today for a while.  Lucy and Larry were in the nest several times this evening.  They were cleaning out the snow and digging in the nest bowl area.

I couldn't believe it as I was checking out older rather dormant threads. Here is was, a thread started some time ago about the classroom in Blair, WI and its Eagle Nest. There were a number of posts when our Diva was in the area, in fact one of the forum members traveled there and took local pictures and spoke with some of the local people. I would like to begin posting again in this thread and will do what I can to pull from the other threads things, comments, and pictures which were posted.

A bit of a review.

Eagles4Kids cam information:

The web cam went live in November, 2010. Lucy and Larry are a pair of eagles that live in a cottonwood tree on private land.

Eagles4kids was created through a grant, by third and fourth graders from Blair, Wisconsin. The camera is mounted 4 feet above a bald eagle’s nest, which sits along a trout stream in the farm fields of rural Wisconsin. During non-nesting times the eagles stay in the area, not far from the nest. The nest is five to six feet in diameter and about four feet deep. The students collaborated with the National Eagle Center on the design of the web page. Along with the technology support, the National Eagle Center has created an education partnership with the students at Blair-Taylor Elementary School.

The kids were feeling a bit discouraged in November because their eagles were not nestorating.  Patience has paid off since Larry and Lucy make a few visits a day. There are a number of darling posted videos also.

This was from one of the visits yesterday.

I was chatting with people on the Decorah chat. Great people and welcome to any hat may have joined. If your location is in your information we will include you in our Map of friends of E4K. I also watched a virtual tour of the juvenile from last year's clutch that was fitted with a transmitter. E1D1 went right by the E4K nest.

I am still searching and organizing the posts about E4K which have appeared in other threads. I found pictures and a lot of information about the area from a Decorah D1 hunter. Will have the "stuff" ready to post probably tomorrow.
