Eagles, chick, and egg made it through the bitterly cold night, and things are looking brighter this morning! I'll be looking for another hatch soon. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4iJ18GmpLig

Earlier today I was getting worried that food might be a problem with the thick snowcover. Just a few minutes ago I watched a switch, the female bringing new meat to the nest. Both eagles flew away briefly, then the female returns to feed the eaglet (after having a few bites herself!) before she settles in. It's neat to have two nest views on the site. The wide view to the right is about 20 seconds ahead of the close-up, which means you can see an eagle flying in before the arrival in the close-up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ci24c7MkeYA

We lost the cam feeds yesterday afternoon, but the close-up (but not the wide view) is up today. Caught a feeding of the new eaglet, and it looks like the second egg is pipped. Look for a hatch today. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DLaCcaj9XIs

Both cam feeds have been down for most of the day. The operators say it might be the cold weather that is causing the problem, and if the cams don't repair themselves (however that might happen!), it could be next week before someone can fix them. With 2 eaglets (I hope, since we haven't seen the second hatch) on the nest, it doesn't seem that anyone could actually go up to the nest for cam repairs.

The cold subzero temps have been there all day....-15 ......it will warm up soon. I am missing that nest. I am hoping that once the cold snap is over the cam will run again.

Me too, golden. Another load of snow hit the area today. Judging from how well they were doing at the height and just after the blizzard, I have to trust that they're doing ok. UPDATE: Just after this post I checked again, and the close-up cam is back up. Another snowstorm is slamming the area today. I think this is the mom brooding. I got no view of chicks before sunset, but I hope there are 2 now. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7af8TmZaC2ohttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3SoPWh9bbs

Yes, they seem to be doing just fine. I watched a good feeding earlier this morning. The elder was hogging, but the parent (not sure which one) eventually made sure the younger got some. Chat on the page suggests that some of the prey they are bringing is coot -- from the lake just below the nest, I guess.

I think this is dad feeding the chicks. The younger one is pretty wobbly (well, they both are ), but it looks like both are getting well fed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dEhef7p4ctU

I've been very frustrated at the intermittent, poor, or no stream from this cam. But a little bit ago I got a good feeding, even though the stream is still very fuzzy. Mom feeds herself quite a bit--looks like fish and/or coot--and also passes some over to the 2 kids, who are finally visible about halfway through the video, and the little one is in front. Both bobble-heads eventually get fed. Glad to see snow-free nest! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VWZDewzqlvg
