Posted 2 hours ago on chat. I confirmed the post on FB. Oh my!

NBG chat...
"Well, things sure can be confusing - and this year seems to be the year of confusion and changes. I just spoke to Mr. Lukei - and our viewers have excellent eagle eyes - Mr. Lukei says this is not the female the male has been with for the past few weeks (the one with the dark tip on the tail and dark feathers on the head). He is going to look carefully at the screen captures he just took and the previous captures he took to compare. However, he thinks there is a possibility that this is the female he was seen earlier with in the season. He also thinks the other female may have tried to approach the nest (this is just a guess - as no one saw it) which is why we saw the vocalizations. As soon as he has more information he will let us know. The male was the one in the submissive posture - which is normal. The females are the more dominant."

Quote from Reese on the blog at 8:55: Congowings: I just heard from Mr. Lukei (CCB). He states: After comparing photos tonight I believe the female in the nest tree tonight is the same female of January 8-19 (or female #2).

And the plot continues to thicken. Reese keeps studying the photographs and trying to differentiate Female 1 from Female 2, and Female 3 and who was in the nest when and who was chased away and who was seen mating when and where.  What a mess. And then to add to that they are still facing the FAA and DGIF rulings.

Ohhhh... This is so confusing!  Is the original Mom Norfolk, who was killed by the plane, NOT included in #1, #2, and #3??  You're saying that Dad has MAYBE had 3 different girlfriends since Mom died??

The highly loved Norfolk Mom killed in the pane accident early last spring is NOT in this grouping. These are all friends since about September.

An amazing occurrance, Alice.  What were the odds??  Glad it all turned out OK.  Wonder what they will do to insure it doesn't happen again?

And here are some videos and still shots from today from Rhonda Gerig. She also does great documentation.

I was thinking about Dad Norfolk today while I was working...  After all the losses he has suffered in the past year, Mom, his three babies, and his new lady,  it is no wonder that he has had two females around.  Maybe, just in case...??

Alice, is it possible that when Dad mated on Jan. 6 he might have realized that female wasn't old enough to lay eggs?  Also, was that eagle 1,2,or3?  I know that there was the lady friend he had when i was there in Oct/Nov and that they aren't sure if she was the one who died or not.  But where did the 3rd one come in?  Now that we live in williamsburg, va I am interested in them.  what about the mating for life thing?  Dad seems to thrown that rule out the window?  What happens if more than one female lays eggs from same male?  HELP!!!
