Really empty isn't it, but that's a good thing for them.  Now Hibbard has some "stuff" in the nestbox, I'll post there.

It is funny how some peregrines are tidy housekeepers and others are not. The Genoa peregrines are very messy, but Nora, the former female from Blackdog, was a peerless housekeeper. Young peregrines from the messier boxes often have a really complex smell - I wouldn't say they smell bad, but they sure smell unique!

the Australian(emily?) falcons don't have a 'nest' they are on a balcony, not a spec of nest material or other.  the twins there are adorable, less than 2 months old.

I have noticed the difference with eagles, too, but never thought about the "smell factor" of the inhabitants.

I noticed they had snow, but Hibbard didn't have any in the nestbox, at least it might have covered some of the mess up  Smiley
